Chapter 411: Wuahn's Fear!

"Are you sure you want her to go through this? After all, as you just told me, she is your AUNT!"

"What do you think I should do?" Wuhan's heart shook as he looked down once more. With a warm look in his eyes, he caressed her head. Even in her unconscious state, Song Liu shifted around, feeling the warmth of his hands.

Seeing the heartfelt scene, Noah smiled warmly. "This is not my decision, but I would say Song Liu is more mature than you think. I would like you to have faith that she will come through."

"What if she blames me for this in the future?" Wuhan expressed his fears to Noah.

"Although I don't see this happening, as it was not your fault she was cursed," Noah smiled at Wuhan's worries before adding, "Even if she does blame someone, I will make sure that someone is me."

Wuhan froze upon hearing Noah's claim. Raising his head, he looked into Noah's eyes and realized that he was not joking. 'I am fortunate to have a friend like you, Noah.'

"Very well!" Making up his mind, Wuhan asked with a firm tone, "Then let's do it, Noah. While you are at it, please help her when she needs it."

"I will," Noah promised, meeting Wuhan's eyes with unwavering determination. "She is my friend's aunt after all."

Wuhan simply shook his head, seeing the sly grin on Noah's face. He moved Song Liu from his lap and placed her back in the shackles, sealing her qi once more.

As Wuhan turned around, he saw Noah already on his feet, stretching his body. Seeing the blood dried on his skin and clothes, Wuhan felt a little guilty. "By the way, I… I am sorry for what I did. I… I lost my cool. It's unbecoming of an emperor."

The guilty look on Wuhan's face was powerful enough to move anyone's heart. "Don't worry about it," Noah said, but words did not easily move him. "I won't be sorry for what's coming your way, and I won't stop it from happening." Discover stories with empire

He uttered the last line under his breath, making it difficult for Wuhan to clearly understand what he was saying. "Did you say something?"

"Huh? No, I didn't say anything." Noah escaped Wuhan's narrowed gaze and turned around to walk out of the cell. "Let's get out of this place. We don't want to stay here all day."

Wuhan stopped thinking about what Noah said when he saw him leaving the cell. Hurriedly following behind him, Wuhan asked, "What should we tell them?"

Noah continued to walk ahead as he commented, "There is no need to tell any more details to them. Just say that this is the only way to help and you are not giving up on her."

Noah understood that telling others they were keeping a potential danger in the house could be unsettling.

"This is the truth after all!" Noah looked over his shoulder and smiled at Wuhan before walking up the stairs. Wuhan, momentarily stunned, smiled and followed the man.

*tap!*

When they walked out of the opening in the wall, the stone bricks wiggled once more and closed the gap, turning the wall back to how it was before.

"You are back?" As soon as Noah and Wuhan entered the room, Ming Ye rushed forward with a relieved look on his face. Just as Wuhan was about to speak, his eyes landed on the crater in the middle of the hall, and he noticed the absence of the last person in the room.

Putting two and two together, Wuhan's face paled as realization dawned on him. He looked at Noah, who was also looking at the crater with admiration. "You knew this was going to happen?"

Noah raised his eyes to match Wuhan's, a teasing smirk appearing on his face as if saying, 'Try getting out of this.' Wuhan clenched his teeth, his eyes laced with fear, glaring at Noah.

Having lived with the two of them for a while, Wuhan came to know a little bit about Xin Yan and Noah's personalities. The one thing he admired about Xin Yan was that she was loyal to her family and, at the same time, overprotective of Noah.

One time, he saw her turning all the bugs in the garden where Noah was sleeping into ice shards. He happened to be passing by and caught sight of her looking over Noah. There were more such instances, which made him sure that one thing he should never do was hurt Noah in front of her eyes.

"It appears that you have made a decision?" Seeing the looks on their faces, Ming Ye analyzed before calmly thinking about something. Wuhan snapped out of his daze and looked at the old man.

"I did. I am not abandoning my disciple, no matter what happens, and will try to make a cure for the curse no matter how long it takes." With a nod, Wuhan expressed his desire to save his disciple to Ming Ye.

Ming Ye smiled and replied, "You have turned out to become a great teacher, Wuhan."

Hearing the praise from the person he admired the most, Wuhan's heart shook as if lightning had struck him. He froze in his spot as Ming Ye's words kept repeating in his mind.

"What are you going to tell her?" Noah ignored the silly look on Wuhan's face and looked at Shisan lying on the bed with her eyes closed.

*Buzzzt!*

Seeing the lost look on Wuhan's face, Noah pointed his finger at him and sent a bolt of lightning to 'wake him up'.

"Ugh, what?" Feeling the annoying tingle under his skin, Wuhan snapped out of his daze and glared at Noah. Even though the attack was not powerful, it gave him the sensation of ants biting him from under his skin.

"What are you going to tell her?" Noah rolled his eyes and asked again. Wuhan felt another set of emotions budding in his heart, seeing Shisan lying on the bed unconscious.
