Genshin Impact: The Sharpshooter of Teyvat

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Unleashing the Rage (2)

Shao Yun stepped up to the bound civil servant, giving him a slow, deliberate once-over.

This man, called Xiao Fang, despite his hands being tied, met Shao Yun's gaze with a sneer full of contempt and defiance.

"So, you're Xiao Fang, huh?" Shao Yun's voice was laced with mocking amusement. "Lookin' pretty young. Guess youth isn't an obstacle to making blood money."

Xiao Fang raised his chin, his lips curling into a scornful smile.

"All that over some lowly performer's life? Who would've thought this shit would come back to bite me? Damn unlucky, but that dirty money gave me a damn good time. Worth it."

Shao Yun's expression darkened. The insult to that mother lit a furious fire in his chest. He locked eyes with Xiao Fang and asked coldly, "What did you just call her?"

Xiao Fang didn't flinch. He met Shao Yun's eyes, tone even more venomous.

"She was a lowly wench! Some whore from the Pearl Galley! I'll call her what I damn well please!"

Shao Yun's eyes burned with fury. He had never seen such blatant arrogance. A smirk tugged at his lips.

"This is a first. Someone with real guts. Guess I'll just have to loosen your bones."

Xiao Fang stood tall, still proud and unbothered.

Then, with no warning, Shao Yun drew the sawed-off shotgun and pulled the trigger.

BOOM.

The thunderous shot shattered the still air—pellets tearing through Xiao Fang's left kneecap.

He collapsed with a wet crunch, screaming in agony as blood sprayed from the mangled joint.

"Aahhh! AHHHH!" His cries echoed off the walls, raw and broken.

Shao Yun stared down at him coldly. "That shot? That's for teaching you some manners. Doesn't matter what a person was—they deserve respect."

Without hesitation, he raised the shotgun again.

BOOM.

Another blast—this time to the right knee. Bone shattered. Xiao Fang collapsed entirely.

"That one's for teaching you humility."

The man wept and wailed, tears and snot streaming down his face.

"Gods—please—I'm dying!"

Shao Yun calmly holstered the shotgun. "No, you're not dying. You'll live. Just… in a wheelchair. But keep testing me, and I'll blow your damn head off."

Terrified, Xiao Fang looked to the Millelith, to Yelan, begging.

"Help me! He's torturing me! This is illegal!"

But not one soldier met his eyes. They all turned away.

What? Sorry, didn't hear you. That shotgun blast? We're all deaf now!

Yelan had only said don't kill him, and besides, no one had the guts to step between Shao Yun and his rage.

And it didn't end there.

Shao Yun grabbed Xiao Fang by the collar like a rag doll, lifting him with ease, and began slapping him—again and again. Smack! Smack! The sound echoed harshly, brutal and rhythmic.

Yelan watched in silence, her expression flickering with unease.

She knew—if this kept up, Xiao Fang wouldn't last long.

She cleared her throat and said softly, "Mr. Shao Yun… we still need him alive. He has to identify the undertaker at Wangsheng…"

Shao Yun paused, glancing at the battered man in his hand like he was a tattered toy.

He gave a faint, chilling smile. "You're right. Let's go."

Xiao Fang, now half-conscious, mumbled weakly, "Oh Archon… all this over a bribe? I didn't think I'd lose my legs and get my face beaten into mush…"

Shao Yun's eyes narrowed.

He let go of Xiao Fang and drew his knife.

"You're right. It was bribe money. And you took it… with your hands."

The blade flashed.

Both of Xiao Fang's hands hit the ground with a wet slap, blood gushing freely.

He screamed—a long, shrill, helpless cry.

"AHH! MY HANDS! You're a demon!"

Shao Yun didn't flinch. He sheathed the blade, pressed gauze to the stumps to stop the bleeding, and hoisted Xiao Fang over his shoulder like a bag of trash.

Yelan followed, her expression unreadable.

Half-dead, but still breathing… barely.

Quietly, she whispered, as if to keep herself safe too, "Shao Yun… he's in critical condition. We should let the Millelith take him for treatment…"

Shao Yun ignored her. His face was stone.

"You don't get it, Yelan. I'm pissed. I want that mortician to see exactly what happens when you mess with me."

She sighed. She knew better than to argue.

If he dies, we'll just deliver him to Wangsheng for cremation.

Xiao Fang drifted toward unconsciousness.

Shao Yun didn't care.

All he wanted now was to find that undertaker—Bai.

They arrived at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.

Hu Tao stood near the door, arms full of flyers, clearly about to head out for another promotional run.

Seeing Shao Yun—and the bloodied man slung over his shoulder—she frowned.

"Shao Yun? What's going on? Wangsheng handles dead clients. We don't take half-dead ones. You should bring him to Bubu Pharmacy. Then bring him here."

Shao Yun turned to Yelan.

"Miss Yelan. Please explain everything."

Yelan nodded and calmly recounted the events in full.

As she spoke, Hu Tao's face paled.

She saw it all now—Nianhua's ghost, the lies, the betrayal.

"This… this can't be…"

But the truth was undeniable. It had all happened right under her nose.

She turned toward the hall and shouted, "Old Bai! Come here! Now!"

A middle-aged man in ceremonial robes appeared from within.

"Yes, ma'am, I'm here—"

He stopped.

Seeing Xiao Fang's wrecked body and the armed Millelith, his face went ghost-white.

He turned and ran.

"Stop him!"

Yelan gave the order—too slow.

Shao Yun already had his Schofield drawn.

BANG.

A clean shot—through Bai's leg.

The man crashed to the ground screaming.

Shao Yun holstered the gun.

"Now he's easier to catch."

Two Millelith grabbed Bai and hauled him to his feet, dragging him before Hu Tao.

He was shaking, pale, sweating.

He raised his head toward Hu Tao. "Ma'am, please—save me!"

Hu Tao narrowed her eyes, voice like cold wind.

"Miss Nianhua. Miss Huachu. You handled their bodies. Explain. Now."

Bai's eyes darted toward Xiao Fang—barely alive, dangling in Shao Yun's grip.

He panicked.

"I… I buried them! I swear I buried them both! I don't know what happened—!"

Shao Yun handed Xiao Fang to a soldier. He stepped forward.

"No more lies. Huachu didn't die. How much did they pay you?"

Bai broke.

"I'll talk—I'll talk! It was the guild's clerk—Jianqiu—he came with Xiao Fang. Said the corpse was Huachu's. Gave me a lot of money. I… I had gambling debts! I needed it!"

"I swapped the bodies. I was scared Hu Tao would find out. But then Rex Lapis died, and everyone got busy with the funeral rites. The whole matter got buried. I thought… I thought it was over…"

His voice cracked.

"I was desperate! I didn't want to die over debts!"

Hu Tao trembled.

She bowed to Yelan.

"I'm sorry. This… this was my fault. I didn't watch over Wangsheng properly. He defiled the dead under my roof."

Yelan waved it off gently.

"This isn't your fault. Rex Lapis' passing disrupted everything. No one could've foreseen this."

She turned to the soldiers. "Take them both."

But then Shao Yun's voice rang out.

"Wait."

BOOM. BOOM.

Two more blasts. Bai's legs crumpled beneath him as he blacked out from pain.

Everyone stared, stunned.

Shao Yun holstered the shotgun.

"I'm a fair man."

Then he turned and walked away without another word.

Yelan called out, "Shao Yun! Where are you going? The real killers are still out there—Huachu and Jianqiu! We haven't caught them!"

"I came to settle a score. That's all. I don't care about the rest."

He walked away, his silhouette fading into the crowd.

"You maniac…"
