Chapter 31: Chapter 031: Wisdom of Guizhong
The external parts of Liyue Palace had been nearly fully explored by now.
There wasn't much to see inside the palace either.
The hall was decorated in a classic, antique Eastern style, featuring wooden carvings, screens, potted plants, and candlesticks for lighting.
Vorthis had designed it all based on the palaces seen in ancient dramas and movies in his mind.
He referenced various dynasties like the Ming, Tang, and Qin for their unique styles.
The hall served as the face of Liyue Palace, so its decoration was particularly extravagant. Vorthis had used high-end materials for its design.
However, neither Vorthis nor Morax would spend much time in this grand hall.
Typically, they would only gather here when receiving guests.
"By the way, Guizhong is the first guest to visit Liyue Palace!" Vorthis said with a smile as he looked at Guizhong.
Guizhong smiled back, saying, "Really? I didn't expect to be the first to visit such a beautiful palace! I'll make sure to take a good look."
"Please, feel free to explore," Morax replied.
Seeing how well Vorthis and Guizhong got along, Morax felt somewhat out of place.
Why were both these gods so lively?
After touring the grand hall, Vorthis took Guizhong to his side hall, which was essentially his personal residence.
The room was simply furnished in a traditional Eastern style, with nothing particularly noteworthy.
Once the entire Liyue Palace had been explored, as the host, Vorthis planned to treat Guizhong to a meal as a way of showing hospitality.
When Guizhong heard that Vorthis wanted to treat her to the most delicious food in the world, she glanced at Morax in confusion.
Morax simply smiled enigmatically.
The three sat around a table in a pavilion. Vorthis filled a wine jug with grape wine and then began manifesting one dish after another.
"Vorthis is using the power of the manifestation authority now?" Guizhong, being a god herself, could feel the divine energy in the white light forming on the table.
The white orb then transformed into a plate of delicious food.
This was Vorthis's favorite dish at the moment, golden thread shrimp balls.
Guizhong looked at the golden shrimp balls and the delicious fragrance wafting through the air.
So...
Guizhong now looked at Vorthis with a strange expression.
So this powerful authority of manifestation was being used for something like this?
Uh...
Well... it actually smells pretty good.
"Guizhong, you should try it! These dishes are the result of hundreds of failed attempts, and I finally manifested the perfect one!" Vorthis smiled.
"This is the only place in all of Teyvat where you can find it!" he added.
In reality, Vorthis hadn't gone through hundreds of failed attempts. He wasn't like those craftsmen who took their time. He usually only needed one or two tries to manifest something that satisfied him.
"Really? The only place in all of Teyvat?" Guizhong said as she picked up a piece of golden thread shrimp ball with her chopsticks and slowly placed it in her mouth.
The crispy, golden shell cracked open, revealing the tender shrimp inside, and the juices locked within spilled out, making the shrimp ball even more flavorful.
"Mmm! So delicious!"
This was the first time Guizhong had ever tasted something like this. It was amazing! This was the best food she had ever had in her life!
Who knew that such mundane earthly food could be so delicious?
Her chopsticks moved quickly, and soon the golden shrimp balls disappeared, one after another, into Guizhong's mouth.
It seemed like she really loved this dish!
Hehe, a god who loves golden thread shrimp balls—how bad can she be?
"Slow down! Don't worry, I can manifest more anytime," Vorthis laughed.
While Vorthis could manifest more whenever he wanted, he understood the importance of variety. If you eat too much of one thing, you'll get tired of it.
After finishing two plates of golden thread shrimp balls, Guizhong finally shifted her gaze to the other dishes.
There were many other dishes, including Immortal Jump Soup, Almond Tofu, Sweet Flower Chicken, Stir-fried Pork, Carrot Honey Glazed Steak, Fried Tofu, Central Plains Mixed Dish, Grilled Tiger Fish, Snow Mountain Sauerkraut Fish, and Dongpo Pork.
Along with many Liyue specialties, Vorthis had also prepared some of his hometown dishes.
After all, during the time Liyue's culinary styles were at their peak, Vorthis had never tasted the food himself. While it tasted good when manifested, it wasn't quite the same as the original.
The dishes Vorthis was familiar with were from his home on Earth.
Ahem, but now on Teyvat, they were called "Vorthis's Cuisine."
Hehe!
After a satisfying meal, everyone raised their cups and drank together.
Indeed, sharing a meal helps strengthen bonds between people. During the conversation, Morax and Guizhong also discussed many topics.
As they talked, they eventually turned to the issue of public welfare.
In this area, it was clear that Morax didn't have the same wisdom as Guizhong.
Morax readily agreed with many of Guizhong's ideas for governance, finding them practical and feasible.
Even after Guizhong left Liyue, Morax continued to think about the methods she had proposed for governance.
Seeing Morax deep in thought, Vorthis walked over and patted him on the shoulder with a smile.
"What's wrong? You miss Guizhong now that she's left?" Vorthis joked.
"Miss her? Where did that come from? I'm just pondering the wisdom in Guizhong's words. She's proposed many valuable ideas for governance and development," Morax said.
"Well then, we should just invite her to help us govern the land. That way I can..."
Just relax and do nothing.
"Invite Guizhong to help us govern Liyue?"
Morax glanced at Vorthis and shook his head.
Guizhong, as the God of Dust and a god with her own domain, would never accept such a ridiculous request.
"Vorthis, you must never bring this up in front of Guizhong," Morax advised.
Gods generally take their domains very seriously, and saying something like that would be an offense to Guizhong.
Morax knew Vorthis was just throwing a tantrum, but Guizhong might not understand that. If it caused a misunderstanding, it would be troublesome.
Hmph, I see that Morax is really clueless.
Vorthis grumbled inwardly, then left Morax's side and returned to his palace.
