Genshin Impact: I'm a dad?

Chapter 11: Chapter 10 3k word

Lucien could only watch helplessly, his body pinned against the cold cave wall as his strength waned. His vision blurred, but he could still see figure of the Abyss Prince standing tall. The two abyssal beings exchanged a few words, though Lucien's hearing was muddled from the force of his injuries.

The only word that reached him was "outsider and plan."

It sent a chill through his battered form, but he lacked the energy to think its meaning. The Abyss Herald, still kneeling, tried to say something to the Prince. Yet whatever it was, the Prince's piercing glare silenced it. The Prince's gaze lingered briefly on the Herald's heavily injured form before shifting toward Lucien with an cold eye that made Lucien blood run cold.

Lucien gritted his teeth, his hand gripping his sword tightly despite his condition, though he knew it was futile against such overwhelming power. The Abyss Herald stammered a few words under its breath, then bowed and retreated.

A portal crackled into existence nearby, shimmering with an abyss energy. The Abyss Prince turned and stepped into the portal without another glance at Lucien.

As the portal began to close, a new wave of dread washed over Lucien. From within the remnants of the portal emerged several Abyss Mages, their elemental energies radiating malicious intent. They floated ominously, their masked faces turning toward Lucien like predators sizing up wounded prey.

Lucien's hand trembled as he forced himself to tighten his grip on the hilt of his greatsword. Though his body screamed in protest, he refused to surrender. With what little strength he had left, he pushed himself off the wall

The Abyss Herald glared at Lucien, fury practically seething from its masked visage.

"Tch! The time is not enough... It seems I can't torture you, human, but I can at least kill you here," the Abyss Herald snarled, raising its weapon.

Lucien, battered and bleeding, struggled to stand. With sheer willpower, he pushed himself upright, leaning heavily against the icy wall for support. Despite his condition, he smirked and let out a mocking chuckle.

"Snort... You're all talk," Lucien said, his voice hoarse but laced with defiance. "You were about to die by my hand before—lucky your daddy showed up to save you ass. Pfft."

The Abyss Herald froze for a moment, its rage boiling over at Lucien's provocation.

"You... HUMAN!!" it bellowed, its voice echoing through the cavern.

Lucien's sharp eyes followed the space where the portal had vanished, and he murmured in his mind, So, it was Aether, huh?

A mix of relief and apprehension washed over him. He focused his gaze in the direction the Abyss Prince had disappeared, confirming that the oppressive presence had indeed left. With the immediate threat gone, Lucien allowed himself a brief, shaky breath.

The Abyss Herald stood back, observing Lucien's movements with suspicion as Lucien closed one eye, scanning the hostile figures surrounding him.

"Do you think you can win?" the Abyss Herald taunted, its voice cold and mocking. Around him, the other Abyss Mages floated, their sinister laughter filling the air.

Lucien gritted his teeth, his mind racing. Should I use that? he wondered, his thoughts clouded with the weight of the decision. Biting his lower lip, he steeled himself. There's no other way... Better to shorten my lifespan than die here and never see my daughter again...

His grip tightened on the hilt of his greatsword, his knuckles turning white. A faint, eerie glow began to emanate from his arm as thin purple lines etched themselves across his skin, pulsing faintly like veins.

The Abyss Herald noticed the change immediately, its expression darkening. "What are you planning, human?!" it demanded.

Lucien snorted, his lips curling into a defiant grin. "What do you think?" he retorted, his voice a low growl.

The glowing lines on his arm grew brighter, crackling with energy. With an audible grunt of effort, Lucien held his blade steady despite the increasing weight of his own power.

"Do you think your Abyss power is unmatched?" Lucien sneered, his voice sharp and laced with defiance. "Then let me introduce you to Honkai."

With that, Lucien exploded into motion, dashing forward faster than before. His heavy sword came down with an unstoppable force, cleaving through the nearest Abyss Mage in one clean strike. The dark creature shrieked before dissipating into a wisp of energy.

The Abyss Herald narrowed its eyes, its stance shifting as it realized the human wasn't bluffing.

Lucien gritted his teeth, the pain from the surging purple lines unbearable. His inner monologue was filled with frustration. Tsk, this power hurts like hell! he thought, wincing as another surge of energy coursed through his arm. He could feel the lines slowly creeping further across his body, threatening to consume him entirely.

I need to end this battle as soon as possible, he resolved, his eyes darting around the battlefield. His gaze briefly landed on his arm, the glowing veins now reaching his shoulder. Where the hell is a stigmata when I need it? he cursed inwardly, gripping his greatsword tightly.

With a burst of determination, Lucien lunged forward, slashing through another Abyss Mage. The dark creature disintegrated into smoke, its remnants dissipating into the air. But before he could take another breath, another portal opened nearby.

From it emerged more Abyss creatures—gnarled beasts and floating mages. Lucien's eyes narrowed, his exhaustion mounting as his enemies multiplied.

The Abyss Herald, observing Lucien's relentless attacks and the growing purple energy radiating from his form, felt an unfamiliar twinge of unease. It gritted its teeth and muttered under its breath, "Is this... what His Highness warned us about?"

The Herald's voice grew louder, barking orders at the newly arrived forces. "What are you waiting for?! Half of you, secure the pod! The rest of you, guard against him!"

Lucien's eyes locked onto the pod—the very one that once cradled his daughter. His grip on the greatsword tightened, and he muttered under his breath, "Release."

In response, the sword began to change. Its blade gleamed with a fiery hue as crimson energy surged to its tip. Flames burst forth, dancing along its edge like a living inferno. With a swift motion, Lucien swung the transformed weapon, creating an arc of fire that drove back the advancing Abyss creatures.

"Not on my watch," Lucien growled, planting himself firmly between the horde and the pod. With a deliberate strike, he unleashed a wave of flames that erupted into a wall of fire, effectively sealing off the pod from the encroaching Abyss forces. The creatures recoiled, hissing and shrieking as the intense heat kept them at bay.

"Focus on this threat first," Lucien taunted, dashing forward to meet the Abyss head-on. His fiery blade cut through the creatures with lethal precision, each swing accompanied by a crackle of flames that left scorch marks in their wake.

From a distance, the Abyss Herald watched the carnage unfold. Its already battered body trembled with frustration as it witnessed Lucien decimating its subordinates. It clenched its fists, teeth grinding in anger. "Damn it! Damn it! Human!" the Herald spat, cursing under its breath.

A voice suddenly echoed from the shadows. "Wicked Torrents, do you require my assistance?"

The Herald turned sharply, recognizing the voice. "Frost Fall, what are you doing here?"

A second Abyss Herald emerged from the gloom, its figure emanating a chilling aura. Frost Fall's tone was laced with amusement. "Why can't I be here? Judging by your current state, it seems you've been bested by a mere human. How pathetic."

"Silence, Frost Fall!" Wicked Torrents snapped, its fury barely contained. "This isn't your concern. But since you're here, help me deal with this pest."

Frost Fall glanced at Lucien, who was still moving through Abyss forces . Its lips curled into a curve. "His Highness did order us to deal with the threat…" it mused, its voice trailing off as it began to retreat into the shadows.

Lucien, still engrossed in battle, suddenly felt a chill creep into the air. He paused for a brief moment, his breath visible in the sudden drop in temperature. His grip on the fiery sword tightened as his instincts flared.

"This place is getting cold all of a sudden…" he muttered, scanning his surroundings warily, his mind bracing for whatever new threat was emerging.

Suddenly sharp icicles flew through the air, aiming for Lucien's back. The attack, precise and deadly, carried the chill of Frost Fall's Cold Blood Incision. Lucien, ever vigilant, caught sight of the incoming projectiles and swiftly deflected them with his greatsword, sending shards of ice scattering to the ground.

"Really?" Lucien muttered. "Why do you Abyss lot always rely on surprise attacks?" He spat to the side, glaring at the figure stepping out of the shadows.

Frost Fall emerged slowly, clapping mockingly. "Impressive, mortal," it remarked, its icy aura intensifying with each step.

Lucien snorted. "You and your comrades sure love throwing out those cringe-worthy lines."

Frost Fall's eyes narrowed. "Don't compare me to him. I'm far better than Wicked Torrents."

Before Lucien could retort, a hydro blade shot through the air toward him. He swiftly dodged it, glancing at its origin—Wicked Torrents, now stepping forward with an enraged glare.

"Shut up, Frost Fall!" Wicked Torrents growled. "We'll settle this later. For now, we need to deal with this mortal."

Frost Fall nodded but smirked slyly. "As you wish."

Lucien smirked, his voice dripping with mockery. "What's the matter? Can't handle me alone? What's next? Your daddy gonna show up again to save you like before?"

Wicked Torrents stiffened, visibly bristling. "You—!"

Frost Fall stepped in quickly, cutting him off. "Don't let his words get to you, Wicked Torrents. Stay focused. This mortal thrives on provocation."

Snorting, Wicked Torrents straightened, though his glare remained locked on Lucien. "You think I'll fall for your tricks again?"

Lucien chuckled . "You just did."

Wicked Torrents' composure snapped. "MORTAL!!" it roared, lunging forward with renewed rage, its hydro energy surging around it.

Lucien readied his stance, his fiery blade gleaming, Lucien dash forward

The clash of blades between Lucien and the two Abyss Heralds echoed through the icy battlefield, sparks flying as steel and elemental energy collided.

Meanwhile, in Mondstadt City...

Luna stood on her tiptoes, carefully pressing a poster against the Adventure Guild's billboard. The image of Lucien's face stared back at her, bold and unmistakable, with the words "Missing Dad: Lucien" scrawled beneath it.

"There you go!" Luna said with satisfaction, stepping back to admire her work. She nodded proudly, hands on her hips.

Amber stood beside her, arms crossed as she surveyed the crowded billboard. It was now nearly entirely covered with posters of Lucien. "Luna, are you sure this is enough? I think every adventurer in Mondstadt already knows what your dad looks like," Amber said lightly.

Luna shook her head. "No, there are still plenty of places I haven't checked yet! He'll see these and come home. I just know it."

While Luna and Amber chatted, Eula stood nearby, silently observing the overly enthusiastic display. Her gaze lingered on one of the posters, and an idea crossed her mind. Without a word, she pulled out a small piece of charcoal and began doodling on Lucien's face—adding a monocle and a twirly mustache.

Kaeya, who had been watching from the sidelines, chuckled softly. He sauntered over, his usual mischievous grin lighting up his face. Tapping Eula on the shoulder, he leaned in to take a closer look.

"Not bad," he whispered conspiratorially. "But let me add my touch to it."

Eula handed him the charcoal.

Kaeya start drawing Eyepatch on the left of lucien eyes.

Luna who still talking with amber notice those 2 movement.

Luna folded her arms and stared at the defaced poster. "What are you two doing to my dad's poster? I mean, I knew brother Kaeye would do something like this," she said with smile , "but you, Eula? I didn't think you'd join him."

Eula froze for a moment, her expression unreadable. "…Am I really the type of person who can't have fun?" she asked, her voice tinged with mock seriousness.

Luna tilted her head, pretending to scrutinize Eula. "Maybe?" she replied teasingly.

Kaeya chimed in, his grin widening. "Indeed."

Eula's eyes narrowed. She crossed her arms and said, "I see. Well, I'll remember this grudge! Don't be surprised if my vengeance come."

Amber quickly stepped in, waving her hands defensively. "Hey, hey, don't gang up on Eula! She's just trying to have a little fun."

Eula raised an eyebrow at Amber. "Oh? So you think I'm being bullied now, Amber?" She smile faintly, her tone laced with playful. "Very well. I'll remember this, too."

Luna burst out laughing at the absurd exchange, clutching her stomach. Amber scratched her head nervously, glancing between Eula and Kaeya.

Meanwhile, Kaeya leaned toward Eula, his voice low but amused. "Looks like you've joined the ranks of the fun-loving troublemakers, Eula. Welcome aboard."

Eula sighed but allowed herself a small smile, turning her attention back to Luna, who was still laughing uncontrollably.

The icy cave was filled with the echoes of clashing weapons and heavy breathing. Lucien stood amidst the chaos, his body battered and bruised. His breaths came in ragged gasps as he glanced at his arm. The purple lines had spread dangerously, reaching up to his neck, pulsating with a honkai energy.

Lucien clenched his jaw, shifting his grip on the sword, its flames flickering as if feeding off the honkai energy consuming him. His gaze lingered on the vines snaking around his arm.

"Damn it…" he muttered under his breath. "Time's running out."

He cast a quick glance at the pod behind him—the precious pod that once his daughter live in. The thought of it falling into the hands of the Abyss chilled him far more than the icy winds swirling in the cave.

Lucien gritted his teeth and made a decision. "The plan's changing," he thought. "I need to get out of here now."

In front of him, the two Abyss Heralds—Wicked Torrents and Frost Fall—stood, their bodies marred with deep wounds but their stances unyielding. Despite their injuries, they exuded an intimidating presence.

Wicked Torrents sneered, his hydro weapon shimmering. "Mortal, you're on borrowed time. Surrender the pod, and your suffering will be swift."

Frost Fall, standing beside him, said coldly. "Or we can make your demise as slow as you like."

Lucien ignored their taunts, his focus razor-sharp. He gripped his sword tightly, summoning every ounce of strength left in his body. "You two are worse off than me," he said, his voice hoarse but laced with defiance. "Let's see how long you can keep standing."

The Abyss Heralds braced themselves as Lucien dashed forward once again, flames erupting with each step.

Lucien's sword ignited with a furious blaze, releasing a wave of fire that tore through the icy cavern. But his target wasn't the two Abyss Heralds standing before him—it was the pod behind him.

"If I can't stop you from taking it…" Lucien growled through gritted teeth, his fiery sword slicing the air, "then I'll destroy it myself!"

The flaming arc struck the pod, shattering it in an instant. Shards of metal and sparks scattered as the once-precious object was reduced to ruins.

"No!" Wicked Torrents roared, his voice echoing with fury.

Lucien didn't stay to revel in their despair. He turned his focus toward the cave exit, thrusting his sword into the ground. A massive burst of fire erupted, creating a blazing wall that obscured the vision of his enemies and the surrounding Abyss creatures.

Without wasting another moment, Lucien dashed toward the entrance, his body screaming in protest from his injuries.

But just as he neared freedom, the air before him shimmered unnaturally. A dark portal materialized, swirling with ominous energy.

"What—?!" Lucien's words were cut off as his momentum carried him into the portal. He reached out, trying to stop himself, but the portal's pull was too strong.

In an instant, he was engulfed by darkness.

Lucien slowly opened his eyes, his vision adjusting to the dim and eerie surroundings. The oppressive air, the swirling black mist, and the faint hum of Abyss energy.

"This place…" Lucien muttered, his voice hoarse.

A voice, calm yet dripping with authority, broke the silence. "Yes," it said, "this is the Abyss."

Lucien spun around, his grip tightening on his sword despite the pain in his arm. Standing not far from him was a blonde-haired man, his golden eyes glowing faintly in the darkness.

Lucien's gaze narrowed. "So, you're the one pulling the strings," he said coldly.

Aether, the Abyss Prince, didn't flinch. "A person from outside Teyvat, just like me," Aether said, his voice steady. "I had planned to let you go if you had simply left the pod alone. But you destroyed it."

Lucien clenched his jaw, his teeth grinding as he fought back the sharp pain coursing through his body. "Bullshit!" he spat. "Even if you had some grand plan to let me walk, do you really think your lackeys would've allowed it? Those two were out for blood!"

Aether's gaze didn't waver. "Perhaps," he admitted.

Lucien's eyes darted around, scanning the area. He needed to find an exit, some way out of this place. The Abyss energy clinging to the air was suffocating, and every second he lingered here felt like it drained a piece of his strength.

Noticing Lucien's movements, Aether said faintly. "Give up," he said, his tone firm. "There's no escape from this place."

(A/n: To be honest, I was planning to post the chapter I already wrote, but when I read it again, I started to wonder—am I being too cruel to Lucien? Should I continue with this direction? Then again, I thought about it and realized it's not enough. I should add more, hehe. So, instead of just a knife, it's like.....)
