Phanes observed the world carefully, his gaze fixed on a blonde boy walking alongside a white-haired fairy—the first creation of his sister. They were heading towards Sumeru, their presence drawing his attention like a beacon.

Phanes murmured, "Now, sister, let's see why you chose him."

As he tried to peer into the boy's soul, he was met with resistance—two formidable powers shielding the boy. One emanated from within the boy himself, while the other was a familiar protective force, undoubtedly his sister's doing.

He sighed, "You've placed so many barriers, and even your own power to shield him. Is this how much you value him?"

Phanes could easily shatter the barriers, but breaking through his sister's power was different. It wasn't about strength—it was about the pain it would cause her.

Reluctantly, he closed his vision. "Alright, I won't interfere. Perhaps it is fate. Fate cannot be broken, only adjusted. If it's meant for him to be the savior of this world, then no matter what I do, fate will guide him there. As for me… it's not time to consider that yet. If that's the ending, I can at least adjust it to make the world better."

With that, Phanes made a hand gesture, opening a rift in space, and stepped through it.

He arrived at the World Tree, Irminsul. As he entered, a white-haired fairy in a green dress emerged from the tree—Greater Lord Rukkhadevata.

She bowed slightly, "Good to see you, my lord."

Phanes looked at her, noting the corruption from forbidden knowledge that tainted her. "You are dead," he stated.

Rukkhadevata nodded calmly. "I know, sir. May I know the reason for your visit?"

Phanes glanced up at the World Tree, memories flooding back of when he first created it. It had cost him nearly all his divine power—a mere branch then, stretching across the world. Now, it was a vast tree, darker than it had once been.

His eyes shifted back to Rukkhadevata, recalling her unique creation. She was his sister's doing, born with all her power and sent to Teyvat as the spirit of the world, its protector. It was as if he had built the foundation, and his sister had breathed life into it.

"I am here to eliminate the forbidden knowledge from the World Tree," Phanes said, his voice resolute.

Rukkhadevata's expression saddened, though she had expected this. She wasn't sorrowful about her impending elimination, but about not being able to say goodbye to nahida whom she sees her daughter.

Phanes extended his hand. "Come here."

Obediently, she approached, closing her eyes. She felt his hand on her head, the forbidden knowledge slowly being purged. When she opened her eyes, she saw the dark, vile essence being absorbed by Phanes.

"My lord, what are you doing?" she gasped.

Phanes, his head pounding from the forbidden knowledge, removed his hand. He gazed at the cleansed Rukkhadevata. "It doesn't matter. Your plan remains the same—you will erase yourself from everyone's memory after he arrives. But you are not allowed to erase your existence entirely as you planned. Understand?"

Before she could respond, Phanes opened another rift and vanished.

Still in shock, Rukkhadevata gazed at the now pristine, silver World Tree. The laws of nature she understood dictated that she should have been entirely eliminated, yet here she stood, given a second chance. With a heavy sigh, she returned to the World Tree, contemplating the unexpected mercy shown to her.

Celestia – The Grand Hall

A space rift opened, and Phanes emerged, his steps deliberate as he approached his throne. Sitting down, he muttered to himself, "Now that that's done, it's time to teach the Hydro Archon a lesson for allowing a Dragon King to recover. But first..." He raised his hand, now blackened from absorbing the forbidden knowledge. "I need to finish that mission to get the recovery potion."

Opening the chat system, he observed the latest conversation:

March 07: "Guys, look at this!"

She sent a photo from a museum.

Yang Welt: "Looks cool! I wish I could participate too. Sad emoji."

Bronya: "Ooh, what is that...?"

Phanes scanned the chat briefly before closing the group

Phanes rose from his throne and approached a gigantic door at the far end of the grand hall. As he pushed it open, the room beyond revealed itself—a vast space with pristine white floors, minimalistic yet imposing. In the center, a solitary stone bed rested, illuminated by a gentle, ethereal glow. A single path led directly to the bed, emphasizing its significance.

On the bed lay a white-haired girl, her serene expression contrasting with the tattered state of her clothes, evidence of a recent battle. Phanes stepped closer, his gaze softening as he looked down at her. This was Asmodeus, his perfect creation, the one who inherited the essence of his divine personality. Among the Four Shades, she was the one he cherished the most.

Gently, he whispered, "Don't worry. There will be a chance for you to recover and witness the end." His words carried both a promise and a foreboding sense of inevitability.

The memories of that catastrophic battle flickered in his mind. Asmodeus had suffered the most, her power to seal and counteract attacks proving invaluable. Yet, even her immense strength and abilities couldn't entirely shield her from the corrosive influence of the Abyss. The aftermath had left her in this fragile state, preserved yet dormant.

Phanes closed the door behind him, the soft click echoing in the grand hall. He sighed, a rare display of emotion crossing his typically stoic face. "It seems I'm becoming more like her," he muttered, referring to the empathy and compassion he felt creeping into his thoughts. "These emotions… I shouldn't have them."

He brushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the matter at hand. "Since I can't deal with the rebellious Hydro Archon right now, I should go and talk to Ronova," he decided. The memory of the events from 500 years ago still lingered vividly in his mind. After the battle, he had intended to annihilate Khaenri'ah and its people completely, to erase them from existence.

But Ronova had intervened, casting a curse upon the nation before he could carry out his plans. She had told him it would be a greater punishment for them to live, to rot in suffering and despair for eternity. At the time, he had accepted her proposal, seeing the twisted logic in her words.

Now, however, the future presented a complication. Someone from Khaenri'ah had been allowed to create a paradox, an act of mercy on Ronova's part to save them from his wrath. Phanes understood it was her attempt to offer a glimmer of hope to the cursed people of Khaenri'ah, to mitigate their suffering.
