When Ryku reached the spot where Ishan seemed to be sitting, she could hear Ishan quietly crying, looking down, trying to hide from the world. Not wanting to face anyone. 

After figuring out that Ishan crying, she turned pale with sadness. 

She stood there, quietly. Thinking whether should she try to comfort him or leave him alone. Ryku somewhat knew about Ishan's condition. How he is been going through some things. She was about to leave, thinking it was best to leave me alone but as she saw his tear dropping down, without a single thought, she puts her hands over his shoulders and asks him.

"Hey, are you ok?"

Ishan, taken on surprise. Wipes his face in panic, looks at her and replies "O- oh! hey Ryku, When did you g- get here?"

"I just arrived." She replies to Ishan, as sits next to him.

"Anyways, how are doin" She asks Ishan, with a smile on her face. She tries not to show her sadness, because she did not wanted to poke into his situation. She did not wanted to touch any sensitive topic that might make situation awkward, seeing him cry, her mind froze. She didn't wanted to make any wrong steps. She thought if she asks about why he is crying, it might make him even more sad. So at the end, she thought just to not talk about it.

Ishan replying with "O- Oh, I'm doing fine. How about you though? why did you come here? Did wanted something" as he was wiping his face, hair and body off. Making it look like he was sweating rather than crying.

"I'm doing fine too." She replies as she looks into his eyes continuing with "and for why did I came here, no special reason. I was just passing by and saw you."

"Passing by huh? Interesting" Ishan asks, confused as he was practically sitting outside the school. Where no one comes.

"I can't?" She says as she puts her hand across his shoulder.

"oh no it's not like that, I was just surprised. As this place is not anywhere close to your usual spot" He asks her as he points at the direction of her usual spot.

"haha, yeah... Today I took a different route to my usual spot. Reshya had some things to take care of, she just remembered as we were on our way. Classic her. So I just took the different route to pass the extra time. And on the way I spotted you!"

"oh.. I see.."

Silence. Then there was nothing but silence for a good minute. It got that silent that one could hear insects talk.

"So... have you had your lunch yet?" She asks him, in order to break the silence. To which, he lies "Yup. I hav-"

As he was finishing his sentence, she cuts him "Stop Lyin!"

"You have had nothing yet. Have you?!" She saying, as she puts her weight on him through her arm.

"pfft.. look at yourself. Why would I ever lie to someone like yo-" as he was saying this, his stomach let out a loud growl.

And it was silence again, but this time the silence was different. 

"Pfft... hahaha" Ryku, laughed at the sound that his stomach made. And then both started laughing.

For a good minute.

"Yeah. I haven't had anything as of yet. I was waiting for Arik to finish his work and then we were suppose to eat together. Guess he'll be late" as he was saying, ryku gave him a side-eye, like she could see straight through him.

"Sigh... Alright. If you say so." Ryku, as she taps on her lunch box with her other hand "So.. Wanna eat with me? I brought extra today" 

"O- If you are ok with it then I'd love to" with a smile on his face, Ishan says, as if a weight's been lifted off his shoulders. "So what did you brought?" curiously asking Ryku, looking like a hungry dog that hasn't ate for months.

"I- I made some sandwiches today. I was getting late today so that is all I could make today. Sorry for that, if I knew that we would be eating together today I would've prepared something better-" Ryku says with a sad, disappointed face.

"Hey don't say that... You made these with your very own hands. I really appreciate that. So let's stop talking and start eating"

With a smile, Ryku says "yeah, let's eat. Hope you'll like these" 

Then they started eating, Ishan takes a sandwich out, "UMMMM!! It taste GOOODD! How did you do made these!"

"Are they that good?"

"PRETTY GOOD"

"oh.. thanks."

And with that they started talking, they were talking about random thing, normal things and were both laughing and chuckling. They were both enjoying each other's company.

"H- hey Ryku" 

"Hmm?" Ryku responded to Ishan, while finishing her sandwich.

"Thank you."

"Don't mind it. You can just treat me later the next time" Ryku says while petting his back

"No. Not just about the lunch. Thank you for everything" Ryku confused, says "hmm?"

Ishan, then looking up in the sky, says "Yeah.. I was having a rough day today. To be honest, for a while now, and today I couldn't take it anymore and broke down. But after talking to you, I felt good. Pretty good to be honest. I also noticed how you didn't tried to ask me why I was crying here. Not like I would've mind if you've asked me though, but still, I really appreciate that you not asking me and also that you tried to change the subject. So yeah, thanks for everything you've done today. It meant a lot." And looks in Ryku's eyes, with a smile.

"O- Oh. Don't mention it. But-" She puts her hand on his, grabbing his palm "But if you want to talk, you have always got me on your side. Got it?"

With a smile Ishan nodes "Yes. And Thank you."

"ANYWAYS! Do you know what's tomorrow?" Ishan asks Ryku with a raised eyebrows.

"uhhhh.. umm... tomorrow is.. I dono" Ryku says, looked confused.

"you little-" Ishan, as he pinches Ryku's earlobe.

"ouch ouch- of course I remember it's your birthday tomorrow you dummy" 

"So what are you planning to give me tomorrow?"

"Nothing!!! I've given you my treat now. That's all you'll get."

With a smile, he responded "oh.. well I'm happy with that too"

Now, Ishan, swinging his feets in air, is now looking at a distance, with a smile, as big as sun.

"You are looking happy now, what you thinking of, hmph..?" 

"oh nothing" still looking the same, he replies.

"Come ON! Just now you were saying that you wouldn't mind if I had asked you something and now you are doing this. HMPH"

"No.. truly. It's really nothing. I'm just happy and excited for tomorrow"

"oh... So you are that happy for your birthday, that's something unusual from you"

"Is it.. I guess you might be right. Actually... there's a girl.. that I've liked for a long time now, and I'm thinking of confessing to her tomorro-"

"HEYYY!!" as he was finishing his sentence, Arik from a distance shouts loudly towards Ishan, waving his hand in air with the lunch boxes.

"Oh well, looks like Arik's done with his work, and with the looks of it, it looks like he has brought our lunch boxes too." Ishan as he says, stands up with a jump, asking "why don' you also join us?"

"n- nh.. You guys enjoy, I'll go and join with Reshya now"

"Oh. If you says so. So then I'll get going"

"hmm" Reshya nodes.

"oh and yeah, again Thanks for today" Ishan with a smile, gets going.

And he then on his way, heading in Arik's direction.

And now Ryku was there, left alone, confused, blushing, gigglingly thinking "Di- Did he said that he going to confess? Is- is he talking about m- me?.."

As she was lost in her thoughts, from behind, Reshya appeared from out of nowhere and whispered in Ryku's hear "Yup, he was indeed talking about you girl!" 

"AAAAAAAA-" Ryku, taken by surprise, shouting out loud. "WHEN DID YOU GET HERE" 

"Oh me? I've been staying behind you for a long time now. But you didn't noticed me." throwing a tantrum "Of course why would you thinking about me when you are with your men" Reshya sighs loudly.

"So yo- you heard everything?" Ryku, looking down, asks Reshya, who's been standing behind her?

"Not everything. Just some bits here and there. Like how you are always there for him-"

"OK you shut it now. you little-" Ryku, throwing her elbow back at Reshya.

And then the school bell rang, indicating that recess had ended.

Then Ryku stands up, picks up her lunch box and gets going.

"Wait for me, I'm coming too!" and with that, Reshya and Ryku, headed toward the classroom.
