Chapter 420 Question and Answer

With Nelson's death, the studio quickly collapsed and shrank, reverting to the original structure of the dilapidated villa.

The bodies of Nelson and all the audience members sprawled on the ground also rapidly decayed, turning into a red and black mass, emitting an indescribably pungent stench.

Miss Chai carefully picked up the wooden box, the prize, from beside the remains of Nelson's body and handed it to Li Ang.

He opened the box and glanced inside to find an ancient-looking Sheepskin Chronicles, large and heavy. Its cover was made of two red cloth boards, with copper petal-shaped ornaments embedded in its four corners, and a gold inverted-triangle emblem mounted in the middle. The emblem's pattern was intricate, composed of lines, circles, and indecipherable text, somewhat resembling the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.

Li Ang briefly scanned the item named [Alchemist's Travel Diary]. Realizing he could not immediately learn any skills from it, he stored it in his pack.

The pressing matter at hand was to quickly find the "other visitor from a different world" Nelson had mentioned.

Li Ang looked around the decrepit villa's main hall. He pulled out a yellow Beehive the size of a giant winter melon from his backpack and held it in his hands, activating the Queen Bee within the Beehive with Swamp God Power. This caused her to release pheromones, summoning hundreds of Soldier Bees that buzzed out like swarms of unmanned scout drones, flying towards every room in the villa, searching for traces of human presence.

The visual organs of a common Bee consist of a pair of compound eyes and three simple eyes. Simple eyes are hemispherical protrusions, while compound eyes are made up of thousands of hexagonal ommatidia. When leaving the Beehive, Bees use the ommatidia at the top of their compound eyes along with ultraviolet polarized light for navigation. They combine this with landmarks on the ground and the sun's position, assisted by dances and scent cues, to form a complete hive-to-source geographical location information system for orientation.

The Soldier Bees, modified by the Origin of Life, not only had their flight speed greatly increased, but their sensory organs were also significantly enhanced. They could even produce sound waves for long-distance communication by vibrating their wings at high speed.

Moreover, these Soldier Bees were not all identical and came in different models.

Some specialized in Heat Sensing, able to detect the temperature of distant objects.

Some were palm-sized and bloated, capable of spraying corrosive liquid or exploding.

Some had elongated stingers at their tails, capable of shooting them out like blow darts.

For a moment, the entire villa was filled with the buzzing flight of the Soldier Bees.

Li Ang stood on the cluttered floor, focused on communicating with the Queen Bee using his Swamp God Power and receiving the complex information relayed by the Soldier Bees.

The various models of Soldier Bees collaborated. When they encountered locked doors, several bloated Soldier Bees would approach and spray corrosive liquid to melt the lock, allowing other Soldier Bees to enter the room and scout for any anomalies.

Soon, the Soldier Bees discovered a peculiar situation: a room's door was barricaded with a pile of furniture, and the scout Soldier Bees detected a heat signature within.

Li Ang tossed the winter melon-shaped Beehive to Miss Chai. He then stomped heavily on the wooden floor with one foot, shattering it into countless fragments. His body shot up explosively. He rushed to the third floor, rounded several corners, and arrived in front of the door congested with Soldier Bees.

Under the passive deterrence of the Divine Mark, the Soldier Bees conscientiously dispersed. Li Ang, standing before the door, casually unleashed [Fragment Scatter]. It blasted away the pile of clutter blocking the door.

WHOOSH! A sharp whizzing sound came from ahead. Li Ang's upper body bent backward at an unnatural angle, like a limbo dancer, narrowly avoiding the flying object.

As he tilted backward, Li Ang caught a glimpse from the corner of his eye: the object was a slender metallic Arrow with a three-bladed arrowhead.

This is...

Li Ang's mind flooded with fragments of memory. Yet, the Arrow that had just grazed the top of his head suddenly looped back in mid-air. Without any reduction in speed, it came hurtling towards his head once more.

Li Ang's body was still leaning backward. His right palm lightly touched the ground for support. He sprang up like a coil, his left hand simultaneously reaching behind him, and firmly grasped the Arrow just as it changed direction.

The Energy attached to the metal Arrow was not weak, but under Li Ang's overwhelming and ferocious power, it could only stop, reluctantly yielding. The sharp, three-bladed arrowhead could not even tear through the protection of his Mirage Dragon Red Mane Gloves.

Li Ang, unruffled, brought the Arrow before him. With a SCREECH, he forcefully bent the metal shaft and casually tossed it onto the ground, all with an air of effortless ease.

In the corner of the room, a pale-faced Liu Wu Dai knelt on the ground. Her body was covered in dense masses of tiny spiders, and the Good Horn Bow dangled from her hand.

She looked at the intruder, who was draped in a Black Cloak and dressed in a dazzling red outfit like the lucky doll Huanhuan. Her face showed her unwillingness.

Is this as far as I can go...

Damn it! If only that Arrow could have killed the referee, I could have taken back my memories...

Liu Wu Dai sensed the discomfort and weakness in her body. She was about to quit the mission and return to the real world when she heard the oddly-dressed intruder say, "It's me, Li Rising."

The player nickname "Li Rising" appeared above Li Ang's head, and Liu Wu Dai immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Li Ang took a step forward, glanced at Liu Wu Dai's condition, and directly cast the [Drown in Misfortune Assassination Method] skill on her.

Liu Wu Dai instantly felt her throat fill with warm spring water. She subconsciously vomited, spitting out a large number of tiny spiders and a clump of entangled pale silk threads.

Li Ang ended the [Drown in Misfortune Assassination Method].

As soon as the silk threads were expelled, Liu Wu Dai immediately felt the itch in her throat vanish, and spiders no longer poured out.

While retching, she slowly stood up, supporting herself on her knees. Her eyes red, she looked at Li Ang and said, "Thanks. How come you're here too?"

"After I entered the Shengnan King's Dream, I dealt with two anomalies. Then I followed the road all the way to this villa," Li Ang responded calmly, looking at Liu Wu Dai. "And you?" he asked.

"Pretty much the same." Liu Wu Dai's voice was somewhat hoarse. "This house is the end of the path. It seems that to go deeper into the Shengnan King's Dream, one has to pass through here..."

After saying this, Liu Wu Dai seemed to remember something, her expression subtly changing. "Right, there's a referee named Nelson in this house. He deceives people into playing a game where you can only tell the truth..."

"I've already killed him," Li Ang stated. He shook his head. "Tell me what happened when you arrived at this house."

He stood face to face with Liu Wu Dai, his tone even-tempered and calm.

He needed to figure out if there was anyone else in the House of Integrity, and if Liu Wu Dai had overheard his Q&A on the show...
