"AAAAAH!!"

Under the threat of death, Gulu Lugu, with only half its face remaining, opened its mouthparts and shrieked—a sharp, piercing, mournful cry.

The Mental Shock it released with all its might was incredibly intense. Even Ash and the others in the distance felt their bodies shiver; their eyes were bloodshot, and the veins on their foreheads bulged as if about to explode.

They clearly saw the intense Mental Shock around Li Ang almost materialize. In the air, it condensed into numerous semi-transparent cones that created ripples as they bombarded Li Ang at the center.

The Mental Shock took effect too quickly. Neither Miss Chai, whose wrists were scorched by the Green Flame Whip and both arms crippled, nor Ash and Chu Yin in the distance, could come to the rescue in time. They could only watch helplessly, their eyes wide with fury, as countless semi-transparent cones symbolizing the Mental Shock densely shot toward Li Ang.

The sound of something slicing through the air suddenly resounded throughout the abandoned subway station. Chu Yin had only blinked when the Resentful Demon lying on the ground was seemingly flung into the air, while the numerous cones surrounding Li Ang also dissipated on their own.

What happened?!

Time seemed to slow. Chu Yin's grave expression remained, and in that moment, she felt as if she could hear her brain turning slowly, like gears in a machine. Her brain was processing, digesting the retinal afterimage from that fleeting instant.

It was an arrow—a Giant Wooden Arrow as tall as a person—that had shot in from the entrance of the abandoned subway station.

Coming from a great distance, the arrow flew nimbly through the angled, collapsed dome glass blocking the subway station entrance. Shrouded in moonlight, it rotated very slowly, passing before everyone's eyes.

The arrow was as thick as a thumb and made of hardwood, its surface a light, woody yellow. It was slender and straight. The tip was embedded with an equally plain iron arrowhead, while the fletching at the end, made of pale feathers, was roughly tied with fine silk thread.

This unremarkable arrow, traveling a long distance, arrived just before the fallen Resentful Demon.

The semi-transparent cones formed by the Mental Shock couldn't affect the giant arrow at all. They were silently and effortlessly penetrated, without causing so much as a ripple.

The furiously burning green flames didn't even have time to leave corrosive marks on the long wooden arrow before it struck the Resentful Demon in the chest.

Chu Yin's brain finally processed the scene she had witnessed in that instant.

And only then did the tremendous, muffled BOOM of the arrow hitting its target finally reverberate intensely throughout the subway station.

The artificial dome, which had collapsed and completely blocked the subway station entrance, belatedly emitted a continuous CRACKING sound. Shards of tough bulletproof glass rained down like the shed scales of a Giant Beast.

The dust on the ground, stirred by the wind from the arrow's fletching, belatedly rose, swirling as if to embrace the arrow's trajectory through the air.

This arrow was, naturally, shot by Liu Wu Dai.

Long before Li Ang entered the subway station disguised as Yin City's Batman, Liu Wu Dai had already taken up position atop a high-rise building not far from the station.

One of her trump card skills involved focusing her energy for a period before firing an arrow at incredible speed. The longer she charged it, the larger and more powerful the arrow would become. Combined with the Good Horn Bow's 'Falling Goose' Special Effect, she was confident she could fatally strike any enemy within her line of sight.

In this standard mission, instantly killing one enemy was far better than gravely injuring two. This was especially true since, besides the Resentful Demon and Gulu Lugu, Wu Mu, a third-party player, was in the subway station below. Within the shrinking barrier, there were also likely two other players—Ji Jiu and John Joyce—who hadn't yet revealed themselves.

This shot had to be devastatingly decisive, leaving the enemy no chance of survival and preventing future complications.

Just moments ago, as Li Ang struggled with the Resentful Demon, the arrow nocked on the Good Horn Bow had reached a critical power level. Liu Wu Dai had held the shot, waiting, only because she couldn't find a clear angle. The Good Horn Bow's 'Falling Goose' Special Effect ensured the arrow would hit its target. It would pass through any obstacle in its path. If an obstacle was too sturdy, the arrow would automatically navigate around it.

For this long-charged, overwhelmingly powerful shot, Li Ang's body, unfortunately, likely wouldn't count as an 'overly sturdy obstacle'; the arrow would pierce right through him. While the System would block most of the damage from friendly fire, Liu Wu Dai intuitively felt that even with much of its force negated, the arrow's power could still be lethal to a teammate.

Therefore, she had only released the bowstring that very instant.

The bowstring still vibrated, but Liu Wu Dai had no time to observe the situation inside the subway station. Through her three-barreled telescope, the auras of Gulu Lugu and the Resentful Demon, though extremely faint, were still present. She also hadn't heard a kill notification from the System.

Dozens of black armored vehicles from the Special Affairs Bureau came charging around street corners, speeding towards them. The WHIRRING of helicopter rotors filled the sky. Searchlights mounted on the helicopters cast several beams, sweeping directly towards the subway station.

Undoubtedly, from the moment the ground in the abandoned subway station had trembled, the Special Affairs Bureau had been alerted. They had already mobilized, dispatching teams to investigate the situation directly.

Liu Wu Dai didn't know the specifics of the situation on Qianhua Road, nor what preparations the Special Affairs Bureau had made for the Misty Territory anomaly. However, she understood that the description of the All Bright Moon Palace Lantern carried ominous implications.

Will Yin City... be consumed by the Misty Territory?

Liu Wu Dai sprinted wildly, covering hundreds of meters in mere breaths. Her agile form leaped over the armored vehicles blocking her path as she rushed toward the subway station entrance.

Along the way, the Special Affairs Bureau's armored vehicles had all halted. Numerous fully equipped agents and players from the Mobile Detachment disembarked, advancing towards the subway station alongside Liu Wu Dai. Liu Wu Dai had seen many of them before at the Special Affairs Bureau and could recall their names.

These mainstays of the Special Affairs Bureau, constrained by the limitations of the Grey-white World, were completely unable to perceive Liu Wu Dai's presence. As they brushed past each other, Liu Wu Dai, the only figure possessing color, stood out starkly amidst the crowd.
