Game of Thrones: The Drogon Voice

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Unexpected

"Varys!" Oberyn did not expect to see Varys here.

"Are you going to fight on Tyrion's behalf, sir?" Varys asked calmly, avoiding the torches in front of him.

Staring at Varys, Oberyn said bluntly: "Does that bitch Cersei want to control me too?"

"I am not sent by the Queen Mother. I am here only to give someone a piece of advice."

"What advice?" Oberyn asked in a deep voice, ignoring the first half of Varys's sentence.

"Don't get too close to the Mountain, or you might get killed!" Varys relayed Drogon's original words to Oberyn.

Oberyn thought Varys came to stop him from fighting on behalf of Tyrion, but he didn't expect that he came to remind him to be careful of the Mountain.

"Who sent you? Does Tyrion know that I'm back? Or Jaime?" Oberyn couldn't guess who else would care about Tyrion's life or death and send someone to remind him.

"It wasn't Tyrion, and it wasn't Jaime, it was someone else."

Varys' answer was somewhat beyond Oberyn's expectations. From what he observed on the trial stand, it seemed that no one except Jaime cared about Tyrion's life or death, including him, Varys.

Although Varys did not give any testimony that could lead to Tyrion's death, what he did say was also very unfavorable to Tyrion.

"Thank you for your concern. I will be careful." Seeing that Varys was unwilling to reveal the person behind the scenes, Oberyn did not force it.

The message had been delivered, and Varys said no more. He turned around and slowly disappeared at the end of the alley.

Looking at the direction where Varys left, Oberyn was thoughtful. He certainly knew the Mountain very well, not because he was going to fight against the Mountain now, but because the Mountain* killed his sister and threw her child to death on the city wall.

He had a very good relationship with his sister Elia since he was a child, and often followed her like a follower. He would never forget the pain he felt when he learned that Robert had captured King's Landing and received the news of his sister's death. He not only hated the Mountain, but also hated Tywin who gave orders to the Mountain.

He was unable to take revenge due to family interests, but now that he finally had the chance to take revenge, how could he let it go?

What he didn't expect was that Varys and the people behind him actually guessed his intention, came here in advance, and kindly reminded him.

Of course he was aware of how powerful the Mountain was. Not only was he extremely strong, but he was also very fast, making him a difficult opponent to deal with. However, even so, this could not stop his determination to seek revenge.

Tyrion thought that Bronn would come to say goodbye to him, and that his sister Cersei would come to laugh at his helplessness at this moment. Looking at his expression waiting for death, he did not expect to wait for Oberyn, Prince of Dorne.

Looking at Tyrion, Oberyn thought of the first time he saw Tyrion, when he was still a newborn baby.

Before he and his sister came to King's Landing, they heard that a monster was born in the Lannister family. He wanted to see something strange, but was disappointed when he saw Tyrion.

Tyrion was normal except that his head was a little bigger than that of an average child. Later it was discovered that he had not grown since he was ten years old.

When Tyrion heard Oberyn's purpose, he was more surprised than when he saw him. When he welcomed Oberyn to King's Landing, Oberyn made no secret of his disgust for the Lannisters.

Oberyn should have been watching the three Lannisters kill each other, but now he has to help him fight against the Mountain, the best fighter in King's Landing.

Of course, he was aware of the conflicts between Oberyn, the Lannisters and the Mountain. As for his help, he could only attribute it to the fact that Oberyn's desire to kill the Mountain was greater than his hatred for the Lannisters.

Perhaps he couldn't avenge his father Tywin, so he had to settle for the next best thing and kill the Mountain first.

No matter what, this is great news for Tyrion. Dorne's marksmanship is unparalleled in the world, and Prince Oberyn is an expert at it. With him fighting, Tyrion's chances of survival will be greatly increased.

After seeing Oberyn off, Tyrion felt hopeful and slowly fell asleep on the weeds.

The next day, at a seaside tournament, Oberyn put on light armor and was drinking with his mistress Ellaria. Tyrion was watching from a distance with great worry. That was already the third glass of wine Oberyn had drunk, and he was worried that drinking too much would affect the tournament.

Tywin sat in the center of the tournament stands, next to him were Cersei and another inquisitor, Lord Mace of Highgarden. Jaime stood below the stands, watching Oberyn who was about to go on stage.

Seeing that the time was almost up, Oberyn drank the last glass of wine, kissed his mistress Ellaria, took the spear handed to him by his men, and walked down the arena.

The Mountain walked into the arena wearing heavy armor, a helmet and carrying a heavy sword.

Tywin announced the start of the match, and the two soon started fighting. Oberyn was light in stature, and his shooting skills were agile and tricky, while the Mountain was powerful and his movements were not slow.

The two fought back and forth for several rounds, but neither of them gained much advantage.

Oberyn knew that the Mountain was good at strength, so he didn't confront him head-on. Instead, he circled around him and waited for an opportunity to attack. Over time, the Mountain suffered several minor injuries.

Being attacked repeatedly but unable to hit Oberyn, the Mountain became impatient. He roared and swung his heavy sword continuously, forcing Oberyn to continue retreating.

The little devil Tyrion was heartbroken. The two of them could be said to be grasshoppers in the same boat. If Oberyn died, Tyrion would not be able to survive.

The Mountain was showing off his power, and Oberyn was not feeling well either. He had to retreat and roll back to avoid his continuous attacks, and his spear was cut in half.

Oberyn doesn't seem scared though, he dodges the attack, takes a new gun from his men, and continues.

The Mountain was exhausted after a round of fierce attacks. Oberyn got a new spear and continued to attack. The Mountain could not dodge and was stabbed in the arm. His heavy sword almost fell to the ground. Oberyn took the opportunity to go behind him and swung his spear quickly, piercing his calf directly, making him unable to stand.

Oberyn gradually took the initiative, and shouted at the Mountain: "Remember Elia Martell? The poor woman you murdered and whose child you threw to death on the city wall!"

"Tell me! Who told you to do this? Tell me and I will make you die happily." Oberyn was very emotional. He glared at Tywin and questioned the Mountain.

"Tell me, who ordered you to do this? Was it him? Oberyn pointed his gun at Tywin in the stands."

"I asked you to tell me!" Seeing the Mountain half lying on the ground without saying a word, Oberyn jumped up and stabbed him in the chest with a gun, then pulled it out with force, raising a cloud of blood mist.

Seeing this scene, Jaime couldn't help but show a look of joy. The Mountain was dead.

Tyrion still stared at the Mountain on the ground nervously. He would not feel at ease until the Mountain was dead.

"Tell me his name. Who ordered you to kill my sister? He threw her baby to death!"

In the stands, Tywin was frequently pointed at with a gun, his face gradually became gloomy, and his eyes showed murderous intent.

Cersei glanced resentfully at Tyrion standing in the stands, then looked at Oberyn who was roaring angrily in the arena, and clenched her teeth.
