Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 95: 95. Sister Liu Wan

If it hadn't been for Liu mom urgent need for money, she would never have pressured her daughter to ask the two elderly members of the Xu family for help.

As for Liu's mother's family...

Sigh. Grandpa and Grandma Jason Liu were in poor health and relied on medicine almost every day.

Jason Liu's uncle worked hard on a construction site but didn't earn much. He also had to care for his parents, who often fell ill. Their family was struggling even more.

Should she really just turn to her own parents for help?

Thinking of this, Liu's mother, warned her husband once again, "You need to tell your family about the money. If they ask to borrow some, remember that I just gave the money to our son and want to stay with him. They can't expect a single penny from me! That money belongs to my son!"

Recalling the grievances from a few years ago when they had lent money, Liu's father was just as angry as his wife. However, because of the influence of Jason Liu's grandparents and his position as the eldest son, he felt powerless even in his anger.

After all, they were family!

Liu's dad squatted on the ground, smoking a cigarette. His weathered face, marked by the struggles of farm work, showed deep helplessness and sadness.

"Did you hear that?" Liu's mother, who was making the bed, noticed her husband hadn't replied and looked at him again.

Liu's dad removed the cigarette from his mouth, pinched it out on the concrete floor, and replied, "I heard you…"

Liu's mother nodded, feeling somewhat relieved.

The two washed their feet and soon lost interest in conversation. They lay down on the bed to rest.

Jason Liu's sister, Liu Wan, was shocked when she received a bank notification about a transfer.

Lucas was equally surprised. The 500,000 yuan was no small amount. The house they bought cost just over 700,000 yuan, and after paying the down payment and two years of mortgage, they still owed less than 500,000 yuan.

Upon seeing the 500,000 yuan transfer from Jason Liu, his sister quickly dialed her brother.

But Jason Liu was the one to call first. "Hey, sister! Did you get the money I sent you?"

his sister answered immediately, "Jason Liu, why are you sending me so much money? If you have that kind of cash, why don't you give it to our mother to save for your future wife?"

"Sister, let's not talk about marrying anyone right now," Jason Liu said, his previously cheerful mood soured. Hearing their mother nagging every time he called was already stressful enough. "Let's just drop it!"

jason's sister couldn't help but laugh, picturing their mother urging her brother to settle down. "I'll transfer the money back to you later; I don't want your money. Our family isn't struggling. Your brother-in-law has a salary, and we usually don't need to spend much."

"Don't send it back; I still have plenty left!" Jason Liu understood that if he didn't explain himself, his sister would never accept his money. So he brought up the antique story he had previously told their mother.

"Really? You found such good luck with that?" his siste was skeptical, not as easily convinced as their mother.

"Sister, it's not luck; it's fortune!" Jason Liu insisted, sweating a bit. He knew he wasn't lucky enough to just stumble upon an antique.

"How much did your antique vase sell for?" sister asked, intrigued.

"Well, it sold for tens of millions. I bought a sports car and a villa in Zheng City. I still have over two million left."

He half-lied, thinking about how he hadn't purchased the villa yet. He didn't want their mother to know, fearing it might overwhelm her.

Jason Liu then sent a few pictures of the villa's bedroom and living room to his sister.

Liu Wan and Lucas looked at the photos on their phones and quickly believed him.

"Okay, Jason Liu, you're really lucky!" Lucas exclaimed.

Hearing that her younger brother had made tens of millions from an antique, bought a luxury car and a villa, and still had two million left in hand was astonishing.

"Wow!" Lucas was stunned.

"Hey, so you can confidently take the money! Isn't your mortgage still unpaid? You can use that to pay it off and relieve yourself of that burden!" Jason Liu suggested.

What he really meant was that after paying off the mortgage, his sister wouldn't have to deal with the awkwardness of living with Xu's father and mother anymore, and it would give her more confidence.

Liu Wan felt touched; she was truly tired of the way her in-laws treated her. "Okay, then I'll accept it! But once the mortgage is paid, that 500,000 will be gone. If you ever ask me for it back, my husband and I will make sure you don't get it!"

"Don't worry! I have enough money! The 500,000 is yours, and I won't ask for it back!" Jason Liu declared confidently. "I don't even look down on you now. That 500,000 is just pocket change to me!"

"You're the only one who can brag like this!" Liu Wan chuckled at her brother's playful tone.

"Jason, thank you. Your brother-in-law isn't very capable…" Lucas said with gratitude, taking the phone from his wife.

"It's okay, brother-in-law! I understand you. As long as you, my sister, and the little family are doing well, I'm happy! Don't worry; life will get better!" Jason Liu comforted his struggling brother-in-law.

Liu Wan then took the phone back. "Jason Liu, have you sold your car and house in Zheng City? Are you planning to move there?"

"Yes, we're planning to open a company soon, and we'll spend most of our time in Zheng City from now on!" Jason Liu replied vaguely, using "we" because he had mentioned working with friends before.

"Zheng City is great! It's a big city with lots of opportunities, and many beautiful girls! My brother is so handsome, and now that he has money, he can find a lovely aunt for Lila and Noah!" Liu Wan teased, hinting at her desire to see him married.

Lying back on his bed, Jason Liu felt speechless and quickly changed the subject. "Sister, where are the kids? Are they asleep?"

"They went back to their grandparents' house to sleep. Do you want to see them? They were arguing about looking for their uncle a few days ago!" Lucas said, smiling.
