Game Merchant in Remnant

Chapter 30: Boost

Shizuo groaned as he saw everyone looking at him, awestruck by his martial prowess. In reality, he had acquired his skills on the fly, by watching videos of others, deciphering their techniques, and trying them out himself. It was a process of trial and error, with a significant factor being that all his learning was practical.

Throughout his life, he had encountered a few individuals who had taught him things and offered advice, but he had never undergone a formal apprenticeship. Instinct played a major role: he always did what felt natural, letting his supernatural body lead the way. He had reached a point where most of his actions were ingrained in his muscle memory and intuition. He was at a loss for words if anyone asked him to explain.

Shaking his head, he turned to confront the most formidable in strength in his harem, Yang Xiao Long. She assumed her fighting stance, hoisting Ember Celica aloft.

"Let's give them a good show, Lover Boy."

Shizuo rolled his eyes, yet he couldn't hide his growing excitement about dueling one of his lovers. He was mindful not to strike near her stomach, as it would jeopardize their unborn child.

"Come on, then!"

Yang challenged and dashed forward.

Due to her weapons' design, each punch carried the potential of a shotgun blast, allowing her to fluidly transition between melee and ranged combat. Opponents couldn't predictably defend against her, uncertain of when a shot might come.

He was well aware of this.

As Yang launched a right cross, he sidestepped, avoiding the blow. Seizing the opportunity, he grabbed her extended arm, pulling her in and driving his elbow into her face. The impact became a throw as he pushed her head back with the same arm's backside while tripping her legs with his.

Remarkably, the blonde reacted to the counter that would have felled most fighters.

She used the momentum to flip mid-air, preventing an out-of-bounds fall, and fired an Ember Celica shot to thrust herself back into the fray. Twisting in an aerial maneuver, she executed a reverse roundhouse kick targeting the back of his head.

Shizuo anticipated the attack and ducked, advancing so that by the time Yang nearly touched down, he was already behind her.

She whirled around, arms raised defensively—a wise move, as Shizuo's retaliatory kick sent her flying backward.

"Crap! I forgot about his super strength!"

Yang cried out in pain following the sight of her swollen arms, her Aura significantly depleted. Had the blow hit her head, it might have been catastrophic. Nonetheless, she landed adeptly, tumbling to dissipate the force, and grinned with fierce excitement.

"That was underhanded, Shizuo. With your strength, why resort to such elaborate maneuvers?"

Shizuo understood her point. His approach was more direct than hers, embodying the berserker's spirit, relentlessly advancing to overpower any adversary with his sheer might.

The blonde fighter's brow furrowed in frustration. Shizuo was a martial artist of remarkable skill, and she realized she couldn't penetrate his defenses as she had with others.

In every aspect of power, he surpassed her, and she suspected he was holding back, never aiming for a body blow. From their initial clash, she understood that a head-on assault without strategy would not lead to victory.

Many of her peers wielded automatic weapons with a rate of fire surpassing that of Ember Celica, yet all long-range tactics proved futile against Shizuo. However, Ember Celica allowed for disguised shots. A straight punch could morph into a hook mid-swing, sending the shot from an unexpected angle.

Despite his speed, she wondered if he could anticipate and dodge all her attacks, considering the shotgun blast's spread.

"It's time to light this place up."

Vaulting into the air, she drew a slight frown from the blonde Lion Faunus. She wasn't advancing on him, indicating a ranged assault was imminent.

Shizuo had deduced the unique threat posed by her gauntlets compared to typical hunter weapons. His A-Rank Perception made deciphering her attacks straightforward. Yet, he chose a simpler tactic, standing firm to face her onslaught.

Yang watched in disbelief as her barrage was effortlessly absorbed by his semblance, an invisible barrier that glowed red at each point of impact with resounding thuds.

"Hey, that's not fair!"

She protested.

"I was under the impression your semblance required time to activate. What kind of nonsense is that?"

"Hey! I never claimed my semblance needed time to activate. Sorry, sweet cheeks, but my semblance is operational 24/7, as long as I'm conscious."

The buxom blonde gritted her teeth, her options dwindling. Her last resort was the ace up her sleeve. She glanced at her smirking boyfriend; usually, her taunts would unsettle him. His Achilles' heel had always been his fondness for women, and she knew just how to exploit that. He wasn't imperturbable.

She was unable to utilize her Semblance, having not absorbed any energy from attacks. That left her only one option putting her hand on the bottom of her jacket. Causing Shizuo looked on, curious.

Yang then unzipped her tan jacket on her midriff and was about to pull her low-cut yellow crop top with her emblem on the left breast in black, to flash him.

"That won't work, Yang."

Shizuo stated.

"You should stop now. The fight's already finished."

"Like hell it is," the blonde retorted shamelessly, her eyes flaring red. "You haven't seen anything yet!"

Without showing any emotion, Shizuo instantly materialized beside her, sweeping her legs from under her. Taking advantage of her momentary intangibility, he seized her shoulder, executing a sweep-throw akin to the one he had used on Ruby.

The buxom blonde blinked in surprise as she hit the ground. Yang's eyes widened, then she turned to Shizuo with a knowing smile, aware of the impending punishment.

"Cooled off yet, love?"

Her bout brought back memories of her first fight at Junior's Club.

"Do worry Yang, I'll give you all my attention tonight when I play with you."

Yang's leg couldn't stop moving as she was getting horny, she seemed like she was about to jump him and rip their clothes off and have sex at the moment, but turned her head away.

The duel had been extraordinary, the best she had ever experienced. However, her anticipation for the evening's events was growing. Yang, surprisingly, wasn't as upset about her loss as expected, considering the reward that awaited her later.

Yang glanced over at the two first-years who had yet to spar with him. The Spartan girl, known for her invincibility, stepped forward confidently.

"P-Money, you're next! Good luck, Shizuo!"

She exclaimed.

With a confident sway, Yang exited the arena, leaving the two contenders to lock eyes in a silent challenge.

"Since I arrived, you've been the strongest. It's time I revealed my true power and ended this."

Declared the blonde Lion Faunus.

Pyrrha, without a word, advanced onto the platform, her shield and sword transitioning smoothly from her back to her hands.

She had observed Yang's battle intently, recognizing his skill in psychological tactics and his ability to unnerve the female fighters without causing significant harm. With this in mind, she assessed her strategy.

"He's quick and powerful. In close combat, he could disarm me or eject me from the ring with a throw. Yet, maintaining distance isn't an option either, given his semblance that effortlessly neutralizes all incoming attacks. Mid-range will be the optimal strategy. Keeping distance will only lead to a deadlock. Moreover, Shizuo had yet to use his destructive Semblance, which remained a threat."

Having made her decision, she prepared to advance, converting Milo into its spear form to test her adversary. However, she halted when he spoke again.

"Alright, invincible girl! It's time to demonstrate true power!"

"Boost!"

With that exclamation, Shizuo was engulfed in light, enhancing all his physical stats to unprecedented levels.

After the third 'Boost', he ceased, his aura now daunting to everyone in the vicinity. His overpowering will be rendered the less powerful unconscious, his mere presence causing damage to the classroom's inanimate objects and structures. Those felled by his formidable aura were deemed 'unworthy of battle' in Shizuo's eyes.

Pyrrha barely stood and tried to use her semblance on Shizuo's Gilgamesh, to see if she could do something. A few seconds later Shizuo felt something tugging at his waist and chest.

"Oh, right! I forgot your semblance is polarity. Sorry to inform you Pyrrha but my Gilgamesh is made of Synthetic metal, so your metal control won't work.
