[☆: Power - Sexy Wink]
As I scanned through the list, I was left speechless, unable to comprehend it. Much later, the words that burst from my mouth were a genuine lament.
“No, but, fuck, does this really make sense?”
How is it possible to spend 150 gold and not get a single 4-star or higher???
It’s not like I got a lot of 2-stars or 3-stars either.
I got one 2-star bow that I don’t even use. I got three 3-stars, but one is a potion, and another is a Spirit Herb.
I’m pleased that the last one is a Swordsmanship like I wanted…
“What’s this now?”
A 1-star Power called Sexy Wink. What even is this?
As the name suggests, I know this is also a Power of the Goddess of Love.
But with gacha results like this, ending with a wink…
“Call the manager out!!!”
I shouted, trembling with anger, but, of course, nothing happened.
By now, the Goddess of Love might be exhausted and sleeping, perhaps?
“Yeah. Let’s think positively. The Goddess of Love used a lot of power for Ellie’s prosthetic arm this time, so I just replenished it. Yes. It was inevitable to get the current prosthetic arm anyway. Solving it during this slightly delicate pickup period might actually be a good thing…”
Just as I was about to rationalize it to myself. The overload from the Power and Skills being absorbed into my body hit me.
Crack-
The sensation of my body splitting from the inside. My bones and muscles rapidly breaking and regenerating.
“Gyaaaaaah!!”
I’ve drawn 4-star Skills before, and it’s true that this is less intense than that…
But those were all auxiliary skills like Sound-Eating Footsteps or Dormant Explosion.
Even though it’s a 3-star, acquiring a straightforward combat skill like swordsmanship gives the impression that my body is being fundamentally transformed.
It wasn’t so unbearable that I was grinding my teeth, but it was strangely realistic, and the vivid pain made it all the more sorrowful.
Only after a long time of reconstructing my body did the pain finally subside.
“Huuuh…”
Sitting down on the floor, gasping for breath, I picked up and ate the Magic Herb before me.
Partly because I needed to consume it to increase my mana, but more so to gain even a slight analgesic effect.
Unprocessed Magic Herbs don’t provide significant effects no matter how much you eat. That’s why Ellie uses processed items mixed into cigarette form.
But I have the Gluttonous Stomach. It means I can fully absorb the medicinal effects and experience a slight analgesic benefit.
And above all.
“Sweet…”
Strengthening the Gluttonous Stomach resulted in an additional feature. Thanks to the effect of making everything taste delicious, my tense mind eased a bit.
Sweet things are the best.
Pretending to sniffle, I stuffed the Magic Herbs into my mouth.
Anyway, I don’t eat much directly; most of it is stored in the Gluttonous Stomach to be digested slowly.
While continuously inhaling like that, I paused because this time, plenty of Magic Herbs came out in the draw, making it hard to store them all.
“Burp.”
In the meantime, I should properly check what I got this time.
First, among today’s gains, the somewhat useful 3-star skill, Yuren’s Swordsmanship.
Just like with Meina, I don’t know who Yuren is, but anyway, a 3-star swordsmanship isn’t something to ignore.
It might not be something like a swordmaster, but wasn’t it someone like a knight captain?
With a pounding heart, I focused my mind on the knowledge acquired through the Skill.
As expected, it was a typical longsword technique… And as hoped, there were quite a few elements that could be applied to daggers or greatswords.
For someone like me, who had been relying on instinct and hastily striking at any visible gaps, this was my first encounter with systematic swordsmanship.
Though I learned greatsword techniques from Lydia, it was at a very basic level, considering my beginner status.
Yuren’s Swordsmanship was forcibly drilled into my head from the basics to the advanced.
From simple initial moves to complex and difficult advanced techniques. And even secret techniques that could decisively cut down an opponent if used at the right moment.
If I can execute just these properly, it would be believable even if I claimed to be a child of a knight’s family.
However, I have no intention of doing so. Certainly, Yuren’s Swordsmanship is the most advanced combat technique I’ve learned so far…but it differs greatly from my style.
Having drawn various Skills and used Power, I’ve realized one thing.
It’s true that the inherent performance of Skills and Power is important, but more crucial is how you apply them.
Of course, the story might change if it reaches 5-stars, or at least up to 4-stars.
If I abandon my current weapon and wield Yuren’s Swordsmanship with the newly acquired longsword, how strong would I be?
Well. Since I’ve been forcibly imbued with the physique and knowledge to execute it till the later stages, I shouldn’t be weak.
However, if you ask whether I’d be stronger than now…that’s unlikely.
In the end, like with other Skills, I should prioritize combining them wisely.
“Thinking like this, the draws have been pretty good so far.”
There were no ceilings or pickups, yet only Skills that naturally fit the current combat style emerged.
Perhaps this too is the Goddess of Love exerting her power as usual.
“Alright. I’ll try this out the next time I enter the Labyrinth. First, I need to take the Spirit Herb.”
Thanks to stuffing it in my mouth, I found a rainbow-glimmering Magic Herb from the considerably reduced pile of Magic Herbs.
It’s much larger than a normal mana herb. It looks as fresh as if it were just plucked without drying.
“Sniff sniff.”
As I cautiously take a whiff, the refreshing scent is so clear it clears my head.
Overall, it feels like the Magic Herb has been condensed several tens or even hundreds of times. If I were to just eat it, it would probably taste that bitter…
“I’m glad I have the Gluttonous Stomach.”
No matter how bitter the medicine, once it enters the mouth, it should taste sweet.
It was so large that I couldn’t swallow it in one bite, so I cut it in half and put it in my mouth, releasing a cool scent. Amidst that, a sweetness arose…
“Mint chocolate?”
It was said that the Power would enhance and make everything taste delicious once in my mouth.
In other words, mint chocolate is officially delicious according to the God of Gluttony…!
Nodding in satisfaction, I briefly resumed rummaging through the pile of Magic Herbs.
Perhaps because I chewed and swallowed it directly, rather than storing it in my stomach. The effect of the radiant Magic Herb began to kick in.
My mana pool, which had expanded significantly upon acquiring a 3-star spell, noticeably grew, and although slight, the purity of my mana seems to have been refined.
The effect was palpable enough to feel like a true 3-star Spirit Herb.
At least now, using Explosive Flame won’t immediately put me into a mana-exhausted state, giving me some leeway.
“Next up is probably this.”
What I found this time was a small bottle containing a milky liquid. It must be a potion for enhancing aura.
Even though it’s the lowest grade, it carries two stars, indicating it’s quite a rare elixir.
It’ll be a pity that the lingering mint chocolate taste will go away, but as I gulp it down in one go, I taste coconut water.
“Not bad.”
It’s good for a palate cleanser.
As I nod my head, the effects kick in immediately since I swallowed it directly.
Something akin to my dantian heats up and swells.
However, it’s still just a 2-star. Being the lowest grade Enhancement Potion, the increase wasn’t significant.
Given how little aura I had to begin with, this much was a blessing.
Next up is the Advanced Healing Potion. But since there’s nothing hurting, I’ll just stash it on standby..
…It seems like I’ve stashed too many potions like this, but isn’t it a universal rule to save potions for emergencies, only to never use them in the end?
Still, there will surely be a time when potions will be really needed. Maybe not now, but certainly on the 6th or 7th Floor.
For now, I shoved it into my backpack and finally focused my mind on the information of the 1-star Power, the Sexy Wink.
With a sexy wink, one can attempt to charm anyone regardless of race.
Surprisingly, that’s it.
“Ah! Where on earth am I supposed to use this!”
At least the other Powers have some use, but no matter how I think about it, this beauty-related Power’s uses are too limited.
It’s not even that you can charm, but that you can attempt to charm.
Isn’t an attempt something you can do without Power???
Still, the amount of divine power increased a bit, and it became a bit purer. And being able to actively use eye contact when acting is nice, but…
“No matter how I think about it, it’s a bit sus.”
Am I actually being customized according to the Goddess of Love’s taste??
It was the moment when my long-standing question turned into certainty.
