FROZEN 3: Elsa and Jack Frost

Chapter 18: WHERE AM I?

Whatever smile and sated happiness the new king was having at seeing his competition— for all he cared— finally getting removed permanently, bloated out from his face entirely.

He all but shot to his feet causing his high seat to clatter loudly behind him.

There was shock, worriedness and confusion full-on on his face all at once.

Then it twisted into a scrowl, anger, fury as he stared down at the scene in front of him.

"What is the meaning of this?!" he bellowed, likely the very first time he was doing so since he came to Arendelle.

Jack was already scrambling to his feet, holding his staff very tightly with his eyes dashing or rather darting around while he tried to take in his surroundings.

His removed weight gave Anna, still on her knees, the chance to move and she stirred, raising her head up from the rough —sort of smooth chopping block to look up.

"Elsa?" she called.

Jack turned to her, confused. "Who?"

Anna's eyes grew wide as she took in Jack's appearance—the pale skin, the bright blue eyes and the snow-white hair that shimmered like frost.

"You're not Elsa," she said but she did notice how he was the second only person after her sister to have white hair even though it was very much whiter in comparison.

"Anna!" Olaf cried, running and mid hopping toward her.

He leaped, jumping into her arms and wrapped his twiggy arms tightly around her neck.

Anna blinked, hugging the little snowman as her stiff shoulders seemed to relaxed.

Jack was much still dazed and glanced around nervously.

He wanted to ask why the people he was seeing were running but noticed the frosted shards on the blade.

'Why are they running when they tried to kill me?'

That part of confusion wasn't settled but then again, the scattering people were wearing the strangest clothings he had ever seen.

They looked… historic.

"Where am I?"

Anna, distracted by Olaf, didn't hear him.

She started to push herself up but her legs were very shaky from the amount of time she had spent kneeling.

"Here," Jack said quickly, without even thinking, when he noticed her trouble, holding out his hand to her.

Anna hesitated for a moment before taking his hand and had to stop her teeth from chattering at how cold his fingers were.

"Thank you," Anna said when he had pulled her to her feet.

Jack nodded, but his mind was literally scrambled at that moment.

The unfamiliar faces, the old-fashioned clothing, the wooden platform he was standing on— all of it was so… strange and… different.

"This place…" he muttered.

"We need to get out of here," Olaf said, tugging on Anna's dress.

Anna nodded and unintentionally tightened her grip on Jack's hand.

"Wait, what's going on?" Jack asked, looking between the two of them.

"There's no time to explain!" Olaf said, giving Jack a weird look and then jerking his head to look nervously at something by the side.

He seemed terrified so Jack followed his gaze and stiffened, if that was possible.

… A lot of armed guards were pushing their way through the crazed crowd, heading towards them.
