From Sword to Slaughter: Evolution

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Warriors of the Earth Dragon Empire

"This sword… seems…"

The blacksmith widened his eyes, his gaze filled with astonishment. He could clearly feel that this sword was no ordinary weapon. Not only did it exude a chilling aura, but there was also an eerie, demonic energy about it. It was too strange.

The blacksmith had been crafting weapons for many years and had seen countless blades, but he had never encountered one quite like this.

"May I take a closer look?" the blacksmith couldn't help but ask.

"Hmm." Lin San hesitated briefly before nodding. To forge a proper scabbard, the craftsman would need to handle the weapon.

"Let me see." The blacksmith took the Demon Slayer Sword into his hands, and his expression changed slightly.

"You can look, but don't grip it tightly," Lin San said coolly.

"Understood," the blacksmith replied, holding the sword with both hands. He could immediately feel a chill and a sharp pain in his right hand, as if the sword's edge had pierced through his rough, calloused skin.

What a sharp blade! And that aura… it was genuine.

This sword must have slain countless people! And why does it have such a demonic energy? Has it killed thousands of beasts? The blacksmith's surprise only deepened.

"This sword requires special materials to forge a scabbard that can withstand the sword's aura," the blacksmith said, looking up at Lin San.

"Are those materials expensive?" Lin San asked, a hint of hesitation in his voice. He didn't have much money left.

"Twenty thousand gold coins. It will require black dragon scales as one of the materials," the blacksmith replied.

"Twenty thousand?" Lin San was taken aback. He didn't have nearly that much money.

"How long would it take to make?" Lin San asked after a moment of thought.

"The fastest would be five days," the blacksmith replied after considering it.

"Can you start making it now? I'll give you two hundred gold coins as a deposit, and I'll pay the rest in five days," Lin San said, feeling a bit embarrassed. He truly didn't have enough money at the moment.

"That's fine," the blacksmith agreed with a smile.

"You trust me?" Lin San asked, surprised and a little pleased.

"Even if you don't take it, I can always sell it to someone else," the blacksmith chuckled.

Lin San: "…"

After paying the two hundred gold coins as a deposit, Lin San left the blacksmith's shop.

"I need to find a way to hunt more beasts," he muttered. Killing beasts and selling their cores was the quickest way to earn gold.

"Right, let's go hunt more beasts," Ye Fan chimed in, agreeing with the plan. Killing beasts would also increase his evolution points, bringing him closer to his next evolution!

"This Star City is really lively, much more so than Sky Wolf City," Ye Fan observed as he looked around. Compared to Sky Wolf City, the streets here were much wider and bustling with many more warriors. And the warriors here were of much higher caliber.

"The mercenary groups here must be stronger as well," Ye Fan mused. The world was vast, and even Star City was just an ordinary city within the Heavenly Tyrant Empire. One day, he hoped to visit the main city of the Heavenly Tyrant Empire.

"What's going on over there?" Lin San wondered as he noticed a large crowd gathered nearby.

"It's them! They were openly kidnapping women on the street just now!" an indignant voice shouted as Lin San approached the crowd. In the center stood several tall warriors, clearly different from the locals. Their skin was pale, with hooked noses, and their hair was golden.

"Earth Dragon Empire people?" Lin San frowned at the sight.

"Earth Dragon Empire? Are they from another country?" Ye Fan asked, curious. These people looked similar to those from Western countries in his past life.

"We are Earth Dragon people. What do you intend to do about it?" one of the tall warriors, wielding a broad sword, sneered as he glared at the crowd.

"So what if you're from the Earth Dragon Empire? This is a city of the Heavenly Tyrant Empire!" an elderly man shouted angrily. These Earth Dragon Empire people were too arrogant, openly kidnapping women in broad daylight in a Heavenly Tyrant Empire city!

"Hey, old man!" one of the Earth Dragon Empire warriors sneered, striding toward the elder. He lifted his foot and kicked the man hard, sending him crashing into a wall.

Thud!

The elder's body slammed against the wall, and he coughed up blood before collapsing to the ground.

"This is too much!"

"They even attacked an old man!"

The crowd was outraged, and many warriors stepped forward, ready to fight.

"Andrew, what should we do now?" one of the Earth Dragon warriors asked, turning to the golden-haired man in the center.

"Anyone who dares to approach us will die," Andrew replied coldly. "A bunch of worthless peasants dare to challenge us?"

A sneer curled his lips as he added, "Let me tell you, anyone who comes near us will be killed!"

Furious at his arrogance, some warriors could no longer hold back. They drew their weapons and charged at the Earth Dragon warriors.

Just as the fight was about to break out, one of the Earth Dragon warriors on the left smirked. He swung his warblade, and blood splattered the ground. In an instant, several warriors fell, dead.

The crowd was stunned into silence.

"That's brutal," Ye Fan remarked, feeling a surge of anger. These Earth Dragon people were going too far.

Lin San's expression grew even more serious as he witnessed the scene.

"Make way! What's going on here?" A large group of well-armed men pushed through the crowd from the left.

"It's the city lord! The city lord is here!" The crowd buzzed with excitement. The city lord of Star City had arrived!

"City lord! These Earth Dragon people have gone too far…" Many citizens of Star City began to voice their grievances to the city lord.

"People from the Earth Dragon Empire?" The city lord, Fu Xiaohu, frowned as he hurried forward. "Make way! The city lord is here!"
