From Sword to Slaughter: Evolution

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Jin Gambling Den

The blood that splattered onto the sword was quickly absorbed and disappeared. However, since Ma Honghu was not in the Bloodthirsty Frenzy state, the blood from their bodies was not actively absorbed.

"Ma Honghu seems to have gotten a lot more ruthless," Ye Fan thought, a bit surprised at how decisively Ma Honghu had killed those men.

"You... you killed Brother Zhao!"

The remaining three men were terrified at the sight. This sudden turn of events had shocked them to their core.

"Not only did I kill him, but I'm going to kill you too," Ma Honghu snarled, his face contorted with rage. "Feed my sword with your blood!"

In an instant, he slashed with his sword.

Shing, shing, shing—

The speed of his strikes was terrifyingly fast. In the blink of an eye, the three remaining men fell into pools of their own blood.

"Another three hundred evolution points," Ye Fan noted, feeling a surge of excitement. "Now, I've accumulated 13,100 evolution points. Once I reach 20,000, I can evolve again!"

Ye Fan was excited at the prospect of evolving into an A-rank weapon. An A-rank weapon would be considered exceptional in this world.

"Humph, a bunch of worthless fools trying to throw their lives away," Ma Honghu muttered, looking at the bodies on the ground with disdain. The area was remote, and it wouldn't be easy for anyone to discover the corpses.

Ma Honghu didn't bother to throw the bodies into the river this time.

"As it absorbs blood, this sword seems to get even sharper," he observed, a grin spreading across his face. He could feel that just by holding this sword, his strength, thoughts, and reaction speed were all enhanced. It felt incredible.

"A divine sword... I really hit the jackpot!"

He searched the bodies and found a few dozen more coins, then started heading toward another location.

The Jin Gambling Den, located in the western district of Tianlang City, was the largest gambling establishment in the city. It occupied a vast area and was owned by Jin Qiong, known as Boss Jin.

"Place your bets, place your bets!" a man called out as gamblers tossed their coins onto the tables.

"I'll bet 100 gold on big," a voice called out from one of the dice tables.

"Well, if it isn't Ma Honghu," some of the gamblers around him laughed. "Where have you been these last few days?"

"Tch, I heard your woman went to the Huang family?"

"Huang Qingsi's been riding her, huh…"

Laughter and jeers rang out around him.

"Shut up," Ma Honghu said, glaring at the man who had spoken.

"Oh, feisty now, are we?" the man mocked, grinning. He was used to making fun of Ma Honghu and had no filter.

"Say it again, and I'll kill you."

Ma Honghu grabbed the man by the throat, lifting him off the ground with one hand. The man's face quickly turned red as he struggled to breathe.

"Get lost." Ma Honghu tossed him to the ground, where the man lay gasping for air, his eyes filled with fear. He had thought for a moment that Ma Honghu might actually kill him right there.

It was terrifying—Ma Honghu had never been this strong before. Where had he disappeared to for the last half month? Was he training?

"Place your bets, place your bets!" the man with the dice cup called out, drawing the gamblers' attention back to the table.

Ma Honghu stared intently at the dice cup.

"Big!"

When the cup was finally lifted, some gamblers were disappointed, while others celebrated.

"Congratulations, 200 gold coins," someone said to Ma Honghu with a smile.

Ma Honghu glanced at them, a smile forming on his lips. Previously, these people would talk to him, but their words were usually laced with mockery. Now, there was a hint of flattery in their tone.

Was it because he had shown them his new confidence?

Thinking this, his smile widened.

"Big!"

Ma Honghu placed all 200 gold coins on big again.

The dice cup holder's expression shifted slightly. If Ma Honghu won again, they'd have to pay out 400 coins. As he shook the dice cup, he used his internal energy to manipulate the outcome.

But Ma Honghu, sensing something, narrowed his eyes. In that moment, he channeled his own energy, disrupting the man's manipulation. With the All Attribute Enhancement ability, his perception was sharply heightened.

The dice holder, a second-rank warrior, was shocked. He had never expected resistance from a mere gambler.

"Reveal the result," Ma Honghu said calmly, fixing his gaze on the dice holder.

"Yes, show us!"

"Come on, hurry up!"

The other gamblers urged him on impatiently.

Gritting his teeth, the man opened the cup.

"Big!"

Most of the crowd erupted in cheers—many had bet on big, following Ma Honghu's lead.

"400 gold coins."

Ma Honghu smiled in satisfaction.

"This sword is really my lucky charm," he thought, feeling even more excited as he glanced at the Flowing Shadow Blood Sword in his hand.

"What a waste," Ye Fan muttered, watching the scene unfold. Using the All Attribute Enhancement to win at gambling—this guy really was something else.

"But it looks like the people at this gambling den won't let him off so easily," Ye Fan mused. "This is going to get interesting."

"Sorry, folks, but we're closing early today," one of the gambling den employees announced, his expression darkening.

As Ma Honghu's winnings piled up, the atmosphere in the room grew tense. Many gamblers had followed his bets, leading to significant losses for the house in just a few hours.
