From Rejected Fake Heiress to Desired True Love

Chapter 687: Old Mr. Li's Finger Moved

When Li Yehan arrived at Nan Qiao's office, she was munching on potato chips.

The crunching sound was very crisp. Nan Qiao looked like a little hamster, with her cheeks puffed out adorably as she ate.

Li Yehan didn't notice anything amiss and let out a sigh of relief in his heart.

As long as Qiaoqiao hadn't discovered those things, it was fine.

"Li Yehan, why are you here? What are you worried about? You wouldn't think I'm hiding someone in my office, would you?" Nan Qiao placed the potato chips on the table.

Li Yehan walked over to the water bar, poured a cup of warm water, and handed it to Nan Qiao.

Nan Qiao took it and drank a few sips.

Finishing the water, Nan Qiao handed the cup back to Li Yehan, who placed it on the table. The two of them still coordinated seamlessly.

Li Yehan sat down, and Nan Qiao leaned in close, her jet-black eyes fixed on him as if she could see through his heart.

"Li Yehan, what are you really afraid of?"

Li Yehan hugged her, feeling the real presence of Nan Qiao beside him.

That document kept haunting Li Yehan's mind, casting a lingering shadow.

"Qiaoqiao, what I fear most is you leaving me." Li Yehan held her tightly in his arms.

Nan Qiao trembled slightly, instantly realizing that Li Yehan already knew what was in that document, which explained his emotional turbulence.

What worried Nan Qiao even more was that the child in her belly might not be that simple either.

During the prenatal examination, there was an exchange of glances between the doctor and Li Yehan, and while she was in the restroom, during that gap, might Li Yehan have spoken with the doctor privately about something?

The numerous speculations left Nan Qiao feeling very unsettled.

Li Yehan noticed her condition wasn't good, lowered his head, and looked at her: "What's wrong?"

Nan Qiao's face was a bit pale. She met Li Yehan's gaze fully, pushed him away, and stood up.

She walked to the window, opened it, letting a cold wind blow in, fanning her face and lifting her long, shiny black hair.

Li Yehan walked up behind her, standing silently.

The black hair fluttered, lightly brushing against Li Yehan's well-defined jawline, his firm chin.

The touch was so light, so soft, it stirred Li Yehan's emotions.

Li Yehan reached out, his fingers passing through the black hair, which slipped away quickly, making it impossible to grasp.

Li Yehan didn't like this feeling as if he couldn't hold onto anything about Nan Qiao.

Li Yehan hugged Nan Qiao from behind, enclosing her tightly in his arms. Only by completely possessing could he stop overthinking.

The former Nan Qiao couldn't understand why Li Yehan constantly watched her, but now she did.

Because she understood, she respected every action of Li Yehan and wouldn't find him too clingy or domineering.

"Li Yehan, let's go and see Grandpa Li," suggested Nan Qiao, making it convenient to distinguish between Old Mr. Li and Grandpa Bai.

Li Yehan agreed with her, and they both went to the hospital together.

Old Mr. Li was still in the intensive care unit, showing no signs of waking up.

Nan Qiao and Li Yehan changed into protective clothing and went into the intensive care unit together, where Nan Qiao took Old Mr. Li's pulse to check his condition.

Old Mr. Li's vital signs were stable. As long as it remained so, his awakening was just around the corner.

Nan Qiao whispered softly, "Grandpa, you need to wake up soon. You can't let those who harmed you get away scot-free, right? If someone really harmed you, and we don't catch them, they could harm others. They are a potential danger to any of us."

Li Yehan delivered a hard-hitting remark: "If not for yourself, then consider the child in Qiaoqiao's womb."

Upon hearing this, Nan Qiao clearly saw Old Mr. Li's right index finger twitch.

Nan Qiao grabbed Li Yehan, pointing at Old Mr. Li's finger in surprise.

"Grandpa's finger moved. It really just moved."

Li Yehan said, "I'll call the doctor."

Nan Qiao replied, "No need to call. I am the doctor. Let's not say anything for now. If some people with ulterior motives find out, they might harm Grandpa."

Li Yehan, usually calm, was visibly unsettled by Old Mr. Li's situation, showing the affection between the grandfather and grandson.

Li Yehan had emotional ties only with Old Mr. Li amongst the Li family members.

Everyone else was just clouds in Li Yehan's eyes, unimportant.

"Grandpa shows signs of waking up. Hopefully, he can wake up soon," Nan Qiao said, a bit excited, hoping Old Mr. Li could wake up soon.

Li Yehan recalled what he had just said and formed a bold guess.

"Perhaps Grandpa developed a survival instinct because I mentioned the child?"

Nan Qiao's eyes lit up, "How about I play some children's songs for Grandpa? Let the sound of the little milk cookie's voice continuously speak in his ear to see if it can stimulate him to wake up sooner."

The once solemn scene turned somewhat cheerful thanks to their efforts.

Nan Qiao took out her phone, searched for songs, and found a children's song, playing it in Old Mr. Li's ear.

The music was soft and wouldn't disturb those outside.

Li Yehan and Nan Qiao sat down in a spot to observe Old Mr. Li's condition, hoping to see more signs of his desire to wake up.

At the same time, Li Tianyi and Mei Tian Sha Zi arrived at the hospital to visit Old Mr. Li.

Even though Old Mr. Li hadn't awakened, the two came daily, without fail.

No matter if they could enter or not, they would make a visit.

The bodyguards were already used to Li Tianyi and Mei Tian Sha Zi's visits, nothing to be surprised about anymore.

Through the glass, Li Tianyi and Mei Tian Sha Zi noticed Li Yehan and Nan Qiao inside the room.

Why could Li Yehan and Nan Qiao enter while they couldn't?

Li Tianyi and Mei Tian Sha Zi quickened their steps towards the bodyguard.

The bodyguard's formal tone sounded once again: "Sorry, you can't go inside."

Mei Tian Sha Zi asked unhurriedly, "Why can't I go in, but they can?"

The bodyguard thought to himself: Don't you have any awareness of why you're not allowed in?

Though he thought this, the bodyguard's face showed no change, his voice indifferent as he said, "Because the Young Lady is a doctor, she can help check Old Mr. Li's pulse."

Mei Tian Sha Zi said, "I also know medicine, and I can go in too."

The bodyguard replied, "Our Hua Country people's constitution is naturally better understood by Hua Country doctors. Madam Second, please go back."

Mei Tian Sha Zi was speechless.

Blatant discrimination!

Mei Tian Sha Zi turned unhappily towards Li Tianyi, urging him to negotiate with the bodyguard.

"Have Ye Han come out. I have something to say to him," Li Tianyi stated unhappily.

The commanding tone was especially obvious.

The bodyguard didn't care and went inside to inform Li Yehan about the situation.

Before long, Li Yehan came out, his expression as indifferent as ever, keeping people at a distance.

Li Tianyi asked with visible displeasure, "Ye Han, how can you and Nan Qiao go in to see your grandpa, but your second aunt and I can't?"
