From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 495: Heart Pierce

Masabi's expression remained cold as he looked at the boy, his resolve unwavering. "Ironclad, huh?" he muttered, raising his fist toward the sky. In one swift motion, he jumped back a dozen feet, and without hesitation, he plunged his open hand into his own chest.

Blood seeped from the corner of his mouth as he skillfully extracted his own heart, barely more than a few drops of blood spilling from the wound.

The boy's eyes widened in shock, disbelief washing over him as he watched the scene unfold. Gojaro and the others, still reeling from the intensity of the battle, looked on in stunned silence. The moment was interrupted as ropes dropped from the helicopters overhead, and men and women in bright blue overalls and masks descended, carrying stretchers to aid the wounded.

Two of the rescuers—a man and a woman—ran up to Gojaro, their expressions urgent. "We were ordered by the Director to evacuate you all immediately and regroup," the man said quickly. "He has a world broadcast planned shortly."

Gojaro, his breath coming in labored gasps, nodded weakly. "That's... fine... by... me. I'm not in much shape to complain.

Oscar and Jade... they're in critical condition. And Rosa... she's got at least four or five broken ribs, maybe more."

His words trailed off, his strength finally giving out as he collapsed face-first onto the ground, unconscious. The rescuers moved swiftly to tend to him.

Meanwhile, the boy, still in shock, snapped back to reality as he saw what Masabi had done. "What the hell are you doing, ripping out your own heart to kill yourself?!"

Masabi, still holding his heart, locked eyes with the boy, his voice steady despite the blood dripping from his mouth. "No," he said, his tone firm and filled with purpose.

Masabi's voice cut through the tension, clear and defiant. "It's my life, and I reject the curse of a vampire! You think you can control me with your tricks? No way in hell I'll let you do whatever you're planning!"

The boy's eyes narrowed as he gathered energy in his hand, the air around him buzzing with power. Just as he was about to release the attack, Dimitri stumbled onto the scene. His movements were shaky, eyes wide with fear. He wasn't known for bravery, and it showed.

"W-what am I doing?" Dimitri muttered under his breath, his voice barely steady. He slid in front of Masabi, raising his trembling arms more out of desperation than courage. He thrust his hands forward awkwardly, using the rubble around him to redirect the blast upward, away from Masabi.

The force of the deflected energy sent a shockwave through the ground, and Dimitri nearly toppled over, his heart pounding as he stumbled back.

The boy sneered, frustrated by the interruption, but Masabi was already deep in focus. He closed his eyes, blocking out everything around him as he tuned in to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. He visualized the chain wrapped around the fragment lodged deep within his heart, the source of the curse.

Masabi's eyes snapped open. He lowered himself into a deep stance, steadying his hand. Without hesitation, he stabbed a finger into the septum of his heart, carefully avoiding the major arteries. Blood welled up, but he stayed calm, feeling for the chain with precision. When he found it, he yanked it free, pulling out the coin fragment along with it.

As soon as the chain was out, Masabi felt the weight lift from his body. He took a deep breath, his hand glowing slightly as he focused his energy to seal the small wound. The sensation was intense, but he pushed through, feeling his heartbeat return to normal as he pressed his heart back into place.

He looked up at the boy, his expression hard. "That trick won't work on me again," he said flatly. The boy, who had been watching in stunned silence, took a step back, clearly rattled.

Dimitri, still cowering behind some rubble, peeked out, his legs trembling. "He… he just pulled out his own heart," he whispered, barely believing what he'd seen.

As Masabi prepared to move forward, ready to finish what had been started, his earpiece rang out sharply, interrupting his focus. The voice on the other end was urgent, crackling with static. "Sir, we have an urgent meeting starting in 30 minutes. Whatever is going on Earth is to be postponed. Please return with anyone alive for now, and we will handle the human worlds at a later time."

Masabi sighed, a mix of frustration and resignation. "Right," he muttered, acknowledging the order. But before he could fully process it, a loud crashing noise echoed from behind him. He spun around, eyes narrowing as he took in the scene.

A massive crystal had smashed into the ground, sending debris flying. Standing atop it was a woman with long pink hair, dressed in dark green pants with green trimmings along the edges and a black vest. She wore blue-tinted glasses, and an infuriating smirk that screamed arrogance. She thinks she's better than everyone, Masabi thought, his irritation growing as he sized her up.

It only took him a moment to realize what he was looking at—the crystal responsible for blocking humans from accessing any type of energy. The sight of her standing on it, seemingly without a care in the world, flooded him with anger.

"Get the hell off that crystal before you damage it!" Masabi barked, his voice laced with fury.

The boy, sensing an opportunity, smirked. "Looks like you got distracted again," he taunted, aiming an attack at Masabi's head. But before the boy could act, Ashaiki appeared, her movements a blur of speed and power. With one arm, she picked up the massive crystal as if it weighed nothing and hurled it at both Masabi and the boy.

They barely had time to react. Masabi's eyes widened in surprise, and the boy's smirk vanished as they both looked up, confusion etched on their faces, just as the crystal slammed into them with a deafening impact.
