From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 493: Masabi's domination

The man's eyes flicked toward Tyree, and for a moment, they locked gazes. There was no fear in those eyes—just a calm, unshakable resolve. "I'm Masabi," he replied, his voice steady, almost casual.

Before Tyree could react, Masabi's grip on his wrist tightened, the pressure sending a jolt of pain up Tyree's arm. And then, with a speed that Tyree couldn't anticipate, Masabi's other fist shot forward. Tyree barely had time to tense his muscles before the punch connected with his face, the force of it like a hammer blow.

His vision went white with pain as he was launched backward, his body slamming into the ground with a sickening thud. The impact knocked the wind out of him, and he rolled to a stop, gasping for air, his face throbbing with the aftershock of the punch.

Masabi, not even sparing Tyree a second glance, turned his focus to the boy. The boy, who had been so sure of himself moments ago, now looked unsure, his smirk wiped clean from his face.

Masabi's voice was calm, but there was an edge of steel to it. "It's time to hand Kieran back. And then, you're going to answer some questions for me."

Masabi stated "I know you are no human and the report I got from my underling stated you have killed a handful of the Angelic's sent here."

Regaku, sweat dripping down his face, gritted his teeth as he spoke, "My name is Regaku Sarabi…"

The grip on his arm tightened, the pressure increasing until it felt like his bones might snap. Regaku's eyes narrowed as he met Masabi's gaze, trying to mask the discomfort that was quickly turning into pain. "Now who are you," Masabi demanded, his voice cold and unyielding, "and what are the Vale monsters doing invading the planets on Earth?"

Masabi's grip didn't loosen as he continued, his tone growing more intense. "I can piece one and one together and assume you are under the direct order of Erebos. Based on your attire, you must be his 3rd captain, right? If I have to, I'll rip you down to your last atom, Regaku. But I really am a nice person when I'm not pissed off."

Regaku's smirk faltered as he attempted to tug his arm free, but the effort was futile. The man's grip was like a vice, unrelenting and inescapable. "You know, us fighting could split this world in half—maybe even destroy the entire solar system, right?" Regaku said, trying to reason, but his voice carried an edge of desperation.

Masabi's eyes, however, remained cold, unbothered by the threat. His voice cut through the air, "Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I don't care about this planet anymore. I don't care about these humans."

In a split second, Masabi released Regaku's arm, only to grab him by the jaw, his hand clamping down with terrifying strength. He lifted Regaku off the ground with ease, the boy's feet dangling as he struggled against the hold. Regaku's breath hitched, the pressure on his jaw making it difficult to breathe, let alone speak.

"There is a traitor within the Angelic order who made all of this possible," Masabi snarled, his voice low and dangerous. "This world and the rest can fall to ruin, but I must bring the one responsible to justice, for justice always reigns supreme!"

Regaku's eyes widened in shock and pain as he tried to twist out of Masabi's grasp, but the man's strength was overwhelming, his resolve unbreakable. The threat of destruction, the fate of the planet, none of it seemed to matter to Masabi. His focus was singular, his purpose unwavering.

Regaku struggled to breathe as Masabi's grip tightened around his jaw, his mind racing. I could fight him now, he thought, desperation gnawing at him. I could probably win... but I'd have to let go of Kieran, and if she joined in the fight, I'd be at a disadvantage. Maybe... maybe I can give him some intel, buy myself a chance to escape.

Masabi, his head tilting slightly as if considering Regaku's words, demanded, "Who could this be?"

Regaku forced himself to speak, the pressure on his jaw making it difficult. "The lightning guy... he was absorbed into the Angelic after his king was killed. He plotted with Erebos to gain control over the Vale universe. He was sent to check on the Demon King, but it's reported that the Vampire King and the Demon King worked together and... and killed him.

Or at least beheaded him."

Masabi's grip didn't loosen, but his eyes narrowed, clearly focused on every word. Regaku, sensing a momentary shift, continued, "I verified this with my master. Apart from that, he mentioned numbers 10 and 11 were assisting him to some degree with breaking the Angelic order, but beyond that, I don't know much more. It could be the captain or someone below the captain...

though I only ever spoke with the 3rd captain, and he seemed confident in his plan to become a king again. He was kind of a dick, though, so... serves him right to die."

Masabi's eyes remained locked on Regaku, the intensity of his gaze unnerving. "I see. And what exactly is your purpose for being here? And don't lie to me. I can sense deceit when it begins to fill the heart."

Regaku forced a smirk, though it was clear he was trying to mask his discomfort. "Of course, then you know I feel like I could beat you in a fight right now," he said, his voice tinged with defiance. "But beyond that, I'm here under Master Erebos's directive to get Kieran. I don't know why he wants her, but it seems he's either fond of her or there's something bigger at play.

I was also sent here to watch the growth of a human named Jade. Rumor has it she's been given a power boost by an Angelic or something else."

Masabi's expression didn't change, but the grip on Regaku's jaw tightened just enough to send a clear message: he wasn't convinced by bravado or half-truths. The pressure made Regaku wince, but he held his ground, knowing that any sign of weakness could tip the balance against him.
