From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon

Chapter 151: A Floor with Life (1)

The fight didn't last long at all, he was dead within the first few minutes of the fight starting. It honestly felt like a joke that he was the boss of this floor.

Regardless it didn't matter anymore since I was able to head to the next floor of the tower. This floor was just soaked with blood of a guy that couldn't even last a few minutes.

But as I went through the next door I was met with a giant city, one that seems to take up the whole floor. A floor with life.

The city looked very familiar to some of the cities from outside of the tower which was a nice feeling. At least I'd feel like I'm outside of the tower for once.

You didn't seem to be phased by the bloodlust very much back there, are you sure everything is okay?

I just got a bit better with ignoring it's urges, there wasn't anyone around anyway. I also think this new power is helping with fighting it back a bit better.

We're making it through the floors which is the important part of this whole thing, at least that's my opinion overall.

But I'd rather focus on this floor for the time being since it seems to be filled with a lot more life than I expected. I don't think I'll have to fight people here so I'll just take the change of pace.

I made my way to the main part of the city, noticing the abundant amount of people walking along the streets. They were all dressed like the citizens of the world outside the tower, how odd.

Some have cybernetic implants or "metal" as it is commonly referred to in my world. This is definitely resembling my normal world in a lot of ways.

They even have shops around the city here with different neon signs indicating what they are for.

I wonder if they also have a guild building in this city as well since most of the cities have one. It would make sense for it to have one but maybe not since this is a tower floor.

Hunters being in here with a guild building would be a strange experience.

How would quests even work if you are in a tower like this? I feel like it would be way too complicated for a guild to make the quests with nowhere else to go.

You can only climb the tower once you begin, at least that's what I remember. Was it possible to leave after you start the climb?

My memory isn't really helping me out with this right now so I guess that'll be something to ask someone at some point. It isn't really that important since I'm going to climb the entire tower anyway.

Ahead I could see a big building but it wasn't a guild, it just seems to be some sort of bar/inn.

It wouldn't hurt to stop in there to see what kind of people reside here. I'm also curious if they rely on silvite in here as well since that was the main currency after the collapse.

So I make my way into the bar, taking notice of all the people inside. Most seem to resemble hunters but I doubt they actually are one.

Real hunters wouldn't be sitting around like this when they need to explore the tower for the guild. Most probably would die the moment they hit a boss floor if they aren't a high enough rank.

"A new guy. You don't seem like you are from here, are you a climber?" An older sounding man asks.

"Yeah, I'm climbing." I answer bluntly.

"Wow. I can't believe a climber is actually here after all these years. Most usually die before reaching out city." He says with a bit of a surprised tone.

I didn't really care to keep talking so I made my way over to the counter. "Do you take silvite?" I ask while staring at some of the drinks behind the woman.

"Of course. I'll get you a drink first." She responds with a kind tone.

I didn't really pay attention to how she looks since none of the people here will matter when I finish up. She brought back a random beer with some sort of weird logo on it, some sort of astronaut.

It didn't taste bad so at least that was a plus side to it. I left a few pieces of silvite on the counter for her.

This city really does remind me a lot of the ones outside, not in a bad way either. No one has been whispering about me in here, not a single person.

They are all just focusing on their own conversations which is a good thing. It gets tiring having to deal with that shit all the damn time.

Are you planning on staying on this floor for awhile Rokuro?

I'm just taking advantage of the opportunity to rest before we start scaling more floors. There probably won't always be a chance like this as we get further up the tower.

I'll stay here for about a day or two so I can make sure that I'm fully rested.

Fighting at maximum strength is the smartest way to clear the floors, not that I couldn't handle them without maximum strength.

It depends on how strong the enemies get with each floor but I still think I should be able to handle it.

Did that new power combining with the dragon power really give you this much confidence?

Confidence is the key to success. How could I make it through the floors if I'm not confident in my own strength? I have been working hard to get used to all this power and even learned fighting techniques as well.

I won't let everyone down by losing confidence in myself now.

I've learned a lot since acquiring this power and I don't intend to let anything go to waste if I can help it. There's also no use in dwelling on the past when nothing can be done.

That I definitely noticed. You haven't thought about Minami or the collapse that much. It makes sense since it can't be changed, or else you would've changed it by now.

I'm proud of you for accepting how it is.

I've always accepted the reality of things, I just don't want anyone else to go through it. That's exactly why I'll kill the Monarch's and make sure no one else ever goes through it again.

That plan hasn't changed once since I've discovered that they exist. Killing all of them will guarantee the chance to bring the world back to what it once was.

At least that's the best way to think about it for now.

Cling! The sound of a bottle hitting another bottle next to me catches me off guard and I look to see who it is.

A man with a strange leather jacket, blue highlights in his hair, some sort of strange cybernetic arm with blue light glowing out of it and blue eyes was sitting next to me.

He is definitely an older guy for sure, but why the hell is he sitting next to me.

"What are you planning on doing when you reach the top?" He asks with a serious tone.

"Clearing the tower has always been the goal. They are a plague on the lands around us." I answer with a serious tone as well.

"Gives me enough time to get out of here then, but I can definitely tell you are from the outside as well." He says with confidence.

"Yeah. Ashvalis." I reply bluntly.

I should've expected to meet people from the outside since anyone can enter these damn towers, but not just anyone can climb to this floor.

He should be pretty strong if he made it this far but I guess some people can get lucky.

"Kairox. Seems we both are a bit away from home, me more than you." He says with a laid back tone.

Kairox. I haven't heard about that megacity in a long time since most people stayed away from it. It was one of the hardest cities to live in if you weren't already born there.

Outsiders could never last within that city, maybe now though. Lots of people have awakened so it might be possible now.

"Is Kairox still standing after everything that happened?" I ask with a bit of curiosity.

"Of course. I wouldn't let my city fall, that would be a tragedy." The man answered with a smile.

"Good on you, keeping a city alive. I protected a city as well so I understand what it's like." I say, still keeping a serious tone.

Maybe the old me isn't really there right now, I can't seem to get away from this new side of me anymore. I think it'll serve me well in this situation.

I'll be able to climb with ease.
