Chapter 639: Chapter 639 Cars Cars Cars_1
[Chapter 2 merged with Chapter 1, so the price is double, sorry!]
Ryan Wesley’s current look might not seem like much on someone else, but this is Ryan Wesley we’re talking about! The only guy in Grey International School who can make the uniform look hip-hop.
What’s with him today?
Purple Summers exclaimed, “It looks like the new school has successfully transformed you.”
Cutting his hair short and changing clothes, she could understand, but what was with those glasses?
Purple Summers squinted her eyes and took a closer look. When she saw what they were, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes—it was just a black frame with no lenses!
“Oh my, what are you trying to do?” Jane McCain snatched away his glasses frame first and teased, “Trying to look like an intellectual?”
Ryan Wesley was slightly annoyed as he snatched them back. “I’m using these to complement my facial shape!”
Jane McCain said with a grin, “Well, not bad, you do look a bit more handsome with them on.”
Upon hearing this, Ryan’s face showed a smug expression.
His smugness was short-lived as Jane struck again, “But why are you queuing for tickets? Don’t you know you can buy them on your phone? Have you turned into a caveman after spending a few months in the mountains? Pffft hahaha…”
Ryan felt embarrassed, touching his nose, “You can’t use cell phones in school… They’re confiscated as soon as you go in and only returned during vacations. I’ve completely forgotten about online ticket purchasing.”
Everyone laughed again.
When Ryan had finally bought the tickets, the four of them squeezed into Ocean World Park, giggling among themselves. Surrounded by elementary school students, they seemed to shed a few years off their age.
While visiting the penguin exhibit, Ryan squeezed next to Jane and Purple Summers and whispered, “Do me a favor, will you? Pretend to get lost for a while, okay? I’ll treat you to a meal later!”
Ryan was looking to create an opportunity to be alone with Zara Jameson.
Jane’s eyes flickered, disagreeing, “That’s not okay, you’d be roping us into deceiving Zara!”
“Don’t be like that, we’re friends. Help me out,” Ryan pleaded with a cheeky face.
Purple Summers also felt it wasn’t right, “Zara is our friend too. To deceive one friend for the sake of another… Doesn’t seem proper, does it?”
Ryan seriously criticized them, “Is this how you act as sisters? You’re hindering her happiness!”
Purple Summers and Jane snorted at this.
Ryan walked away sulkily and ran over to talk to Zara Jameson.
Purple Summers pulled Jane aside and asked in a low voice, “Is he serious?”
“Of course,” Jane also murmured, “He’s been relentless! He insisted on going with us to Peachwater Village last time, planning on Zara from a long time ago. With such a short vacation, now that he’s finally back, of course he’s going to be proactive!”
“I thought he came back to catch up with us, but he was actually trying to pick up girls,” Purple Summers said disdainfully, “He’s using us two as a front.”
If it weren’t for the agreement with Jane and Purple Summers, would Zara have come out to meet? Clearly not.
“Huh?” Jane suddenly exclaimed in surprise, “Where did they go?”
Purple Summers turned her head to look, and Ryan Wesley and Zara Jameson were nowhere to be seen!
“That guy, he actually tricked Zara away!” Jane cursed angrily, “Men have no humanity when there’s a woman involved!”
Purple Summers was speechless too and patted Jane’s shoulder, “Come on, let’s go look for them.”
The two of them searched all around the penguin exhibit and still didn’t spot Ryan Wesley and Zara Jameson, feeling both angry and amused.
“Let’s just take a break,” Jane said helplessly, pulling Purple Summers over to a nearby bench to sit and rest.
“I can’t believe he dares to leave us behind. I’ll have to show him how formidable I am,” Jane told Purple Summers, “Let’s introduce a boyfriend to Zara, to infuriate Ryan Wesley, how about that?”
Purple Summers laughed and gave her a light slap, “Stop it! If Aunt Jameson finds out, we’re all doomed!”
“I know, I was just joking,” Jane sighed deeply, “I don’t know what he’s after. Zara doesn’t even like him, and yet he persists.”
Speaking of this, Purple Summers also found it strange.
Initially, she thought it amusing to see Jane McCain and Ryan Wesley bickering together and even considered them well-matched. Suddenly replacing Jane with Zara Jameson…it was somewhat hard to imagine.
The two of them really didn’t appear to be cut from the same cloth.
Zara was the good girl from a literary family, with a father who was a diplomat, a mother who was a professor, and a brother who was a foreign language teacher. Her whole family was steeped in erudition.
Yet Ryan Wesley exuded an aura of a street hooligan from head to toe.
…Although his reformed image barely passed muster, in essence, he was still a person from a different world.
Most importantly, Zara showed no signs of harboring any special feelings for Ryan Wesley, and Purple thought that Ryan’s love life was probably going to be quite bumpy.
After sitting on the bench for a while, Purple and Jane received a call from Zara, who anxiously asked where they were.
Jane disclosed their location, and soon after, they saw Zara and Ryan return.
In their hands, they carried ice cream and huge cotton candy, along with some other snacks.
Zara said, “Ryan and I went to get some food, and when we came back, we couldn’t find you guys anywhere! Eat up quickly, the ice cream is about to melt!”
Jane and Purple exchanged glances and tacitly decided not to expose Ryan’s “scheme.”
Afterward, as if on purpose, Jane kept linking arms with Zara throughout, fending off Ryan’s attempts to get close, leading to the three girls strolling ahead while Ryan was relegated to carrying bags behind them.
Purple followed them, partaking in the fun, feeling both helpless and amused throughout the day, but it was, after all, the most relaxing day she had during the entire summer vacation.
They played until past three in the afternoon when Zara needed to leave early.
“My violin was sent for repairs last week; I need to pick it up today, or else the music store will close,” Zara explained.
Ryan immediately volunteered, “I’ll take you there.”
“You don’t even know the way!” Jane wouldn’t let him gloat and pulled Zara to her side, “I’ll go with Zara. I often visit that music store. Ryan, you take Purple home.”
Ryan said, “I can take Zara to the music store first, then drop Purple off at home. It’s tough to hail a cab around here with all these people! Besides, didn’t Zara say it? If we’re late, the store will close!”
He shamelessly refused to leave first.
In the end, the three girls climbed into Ryan’s Bumblebee sports car.
Purple joked, “Ryan, why don’t you also give your car a makeover? Right now, it clearly doesn’t match your vibe.”
Ryan immediately asked, “Zara, what kind of car do you like?”
Zara was taken aback by his question, “…Huh?”
Jane teased, “Why? Are you going to give her a car? Zara’s favorite is the number one bronze chariot from Qin Shi Huang’s terracotta army, worth a hundred billion. Go buy it, buy it!”
Ryan said annoyed, “I won’t take you out to have fun next time!”
Purple smoothed things over by changing the subject, “I think a MINI is nice, suitable for girls. Zara, you can consider it once you get your driver’s license.”
“That’s so tiny, what’s the fun in that!” Jane egged Zara on, “Buy a Ferrari, a red one is so pretty!”
Zara turned to ask Purple, “What about you? What car do you plan to buy?”
Purple covered her mouth, laughing, “A pink… Hummer.”
The entire ride was filled with laughter as they discussed what kind of vehicles they wanted to buy one day; before they knew it, they had arrived at the music store.
As the group got out of the car, Jane couldn’t help but laugh, pointing to something not far away and saying to Ryan, “Ryan, that must be your brother, right?”
Ryan looked over, at a Bugatti Veyron styled exactly like Drift from the Transformers, just like his Bumblebee; both were custom models from the Transformers series.
In the whole of Clearwater City, the number of people who could afford such cars could be counted on both hands.
There must have been some important guest at the music store.
