Chapter 630: Chapter 630 Take Two Puffs_1
The investigation yielded no results, and Atra Blanc’s attitude showed no sign of slackening, leaving Alexander Summers with quite the headache.
Purple Summers, on the other hand, was quite relaxed and even rather enjoyed the current “platonic” phase—anytime she missed her boyfriend, she would just send a text message or make a phone call, which was far more comfortable than the constant kissing and touching of the past.
At last, Purple felt what it was like to experience a “normal” mode of romance.
Alexander, however, was rather disdainful of it, saying, “This is a regression of the times, a shackling of human nature.”
Purple texted him, “Did you have human nature before?”
The subtext: I thought you only had beastly nature.
Alexander didn’t reply for quite some time.
Purple thought that if this had been the past, Alexander would definitely have said, “Are you asking to be disciplined again?”
And then he would pin her to the bed and “discipline” her in all sorts of ways.
But now, with Atra in mind, Alexander couldn’t lay a hand on her and had to hold himself back, causing him to be irritable every day.
Imagining Alexander’s current expression, Purple couldn’t help but laugh and wonder if she was finding joy in her misery. Opposed by their parents in their relationship, and yet she was still so cheerful.
Perhaps it was a blind trust in Alexander…
Late at night, Purple turned off the light and lay down on her side.
The evening breeze flowed gently through the window, carrying with it the fresh scent of grass and trees from the garden, filling the room with a pleasant aroma.
This enjoyably temperate climate was fleeting and precious; before long, the real heat would come, and they would have to close the doors and windows and turn on the air conditioning, unable to enjoy the natural coolness anymore.
As Purple’s sleepiness grew, she heard a faint creaking sound outside the window.
She didn’t pay it much attention, assuming Tiny had flown back in. She turned over and squinted toward the window, only to see a nimble figure climbing through!
Purple’s heart clenched in terror, and her scalp tingled!
Reaching for the gun in her drawer instinctively, the figure quickly closed in, suddenly embracing her tightly, nearly embedding her into his body—pressing every inch of their skin so tightly together there seemed to be no gaps.
She smelled the familiar crisp scent, and her tense nerves instantly relaxed. She raised her hand and punched Alexander, “You almost scared me to death!”
Alexander said nothing, but bent down to seal her lips, like a survivor of a catastrophe, greedily gulping down life, frantically and insatiably, without end.
It wasn’t until Purple was almost unable to breathe that he stopped, burying his face in her neck and inhaling deeply, sighing, “I almost died!”
Purple froze.
Then, Alexander added, “I almost wanted to die, but now I’ve finally come back to life.”
Purple: “…”
Alexander held her and felt as if his life had returned.
Purple, with a deadpan expression, retorted, “You did indeed seem like a critically ill patient on oxygen just now.”
“That’s a nice description,” Alexander said happily, embracing Purple. “You’re my oxygen tank; let me take a few more breaths.”
Purple pushed him away, “Can you act normal for once in the middle of the night?”
“Keep it down,” Alexander said, catching her hand and holding her tighter. “Be careful not to wake mom up.”
Purple pursed her lips, thinking about the difficulty of climbing through the window; she didn’t have the heart to struggle anymore and let him hold her.
She had been very tired from studying lately, and in Alexander’s arms, she fell asleep before long.
When she woke up in the morning, Alexander was already gone from her side; she had no idea when he left or whether Atra had discovered anything…
Thinking about their current situation, it was indeed awkward.
Purple sighed softly, got dressed after washing up, and was about to go downstairs when she suddenly felt a wave of dizziness.
She immediately grabbed onto the stair railing to steady herself, narrowly avoiding a fall.
What was going on?
Purple rubbed her head, the staircase before her eyes seemed to double for a while, but after a long moment, her vision finally cleared.
