Chapter 2: CH 2
Hearing Usopp's words, Zoro's eyes lit up with excitement. "Cutting a mountain? Is he a swordsman?"
Nami, startled, glanced at Bai Yu with a mix of curiosity and doubt. She suddenly asked, "What mountain? How big was the mountain? Is that even possible…?"
But then, as the image of a certain figure flashed through her mind, her expression dimmed. She murmured to herself, "No way… no one could do that. Those hateful people can't be defeated by a human…"
Zoro stood up, and Luffy yelled loudly, clearly intrigued.
At that moment, a few dozen meters away, Bai Yu suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked at Kaya, who seemed curious. "If we're going to sea, we'll need a navigator, won't we?"
"Ah? Yes, of course," Kaya replied, nodding. She wondered for a moment if she could recruit someone using her wealth.
"Kaya, listen carefully," Bai Yu said seriously. "Since you've decided to go to sea with me, you need to understand something: not only the Marines but also all pirates are our enemies. Kindness is a luxury we can't afford."
"Going to sea is close at hand, and it's too slow to find a qualified navigator."
"If we don't have one…" Bai Yu's voice grew cold, "then we'll take one!"
Bai Yu drew his sword slowly, and Kaya looked at him in shock.
Suddenly, a terrifying aura erupted from Bai Yu, a force so overwhelming it seemed to drain all color from the world.
The Conqueror's Haki, at an intermediate level, surged from Bai Yu, sweeping across the coast in an instant.
"Thud, thud…"
One by one, the villagers collapsed to the ground. Usopp rolled his eyes and fainted as well.
The scene was shocking!
"Usopp!" Luffy and Zoro shouted in alarm.
"This… how is this possible?" Nami gasped, covering her mouth as she looked around in disbelief at the fallen villagers.
Bai Yu glanced at her but sighed internally. Both Luffy and Zoro had resisted the effects of his Conqueror's Haki. "They're not unconscious because they both have the qualifications of a Conqueror."
It was only due to Bai Yu's control that Nami had been spared from fainting. Even so, he realized that Luffy and Zoro's resistance wasn't something to be taken lightly.
Suddenly, Bai Yu's aura surged several times over, jumping from intermediate to advanced Conqueror's Haki.
The sky darkened as a storm brewed, and cracks formed on the ground beneath the sheer pressure of his Haki.
"Crack!"
The earth split, and both Zoro and Luffy found their minds blank under the overwhelming pressure.
The sudden boost in Haki made it difficult for Bai Yu to control its range.
"Thud, thud…"
Kaya and Nami fainted from the overwhelming aura, collapsing to the ground.
The sheer magnitude of Bai Yu's Conqueror's Haki reflected the strength of his will. As the only form of Haki that cannot be strengthened through training, Conqueror's Haki grew stronger when Bai Yu resolved to confront the main characters and take control of the world.
After a year at the intermediate level, Bai Yu's Conqueror's had finally reached advanced!
"Fight back? I won't give you the time or chance to power up…"
Bai Yu rushed forward, drawing his blade in an instant.
"I'm taking the navigator!"
"Damn! I'm gonna punch you!"
As Bai Yu closed the distance, Luffy snapped out of his daze and threw a furious punch.
Zoro also drew his swords, ready to counter.
"Too late," Bai Yu said coldly, his eyes flashing dangerously as his speed increased.
He swung his blade.
Cross Slash!
"Shhhk!"
A cross-shaped wound appeared on Luffy's chest. The force of the blow sent both Luffy and Zoro flying backward.
Without pausing, Bai Yu stomped on the ground, disappearing in an afterimage as he pursued them.
Bang, bang!
Before they could recover, Bai Yu landed beside them, flipping his blade around and striking their heads with its back. The impact knocked both of them out cold.
Standing over their unconscious bodies, Bai Yu bent down and picked up Zoro's three swords.
"This one… Wado Ichimonji," Bai Yu muttered, studying the blade. "I'll take this sword."
He plunged the other two swords into the ground near Zoro's head.
Without looking back, Bai Yu turned and left.
He didn't kill Luffy and Zoro for one simple reason: Nami.
Although Nami hadn't fully joined Luffy's crew yet—pretending to ally with them while secretly planning to steal their ship for her own reasons—Bai Yu understood her.
Nami would always choose her friends over strangers.
But after today, things would be different.
Halfway to the ship, Bai Yu paused.
"Two more strikes, just to be sure."
He wasn't taking any chances with Luffy and Zoro recovering too quickly. Their protagonist-like endurance was too troublesome.
"Shhk, shhk!"
Bai Yu calmly stabbed both of them again, ensuring they wouldn't be able to fight for several days.
Only then did he leave with confidence.
"Kaya, wake up."
Bai Yu gently roused Kaya from her unconscious state. "Go say goodbye to Merry, pack your things, and we'll set sail soon."
Kaya glanced toward the coast. "What about Luffy and the others…?"
"They're unconscious," Bai Yu replied casually.
"Alright, then let's go to sea!" Kaya said excitedly.
Compared to the Straw Hats, whom she had only just met, Bai Yu felt like family to her.
While Kaya happily ran home to say goodbye to her butler, Merry, Bai Yu smiled faintly. The girl, once frail and sickly, had always longed for the outside world.
As for Bai Yu, he had nothing to pack. He simply picked up the unconscious Nami and leapt onto the ship Kaya had given to the Straw Hats.
After all… why bother with their ship when Bai Yu could take it for himself?
An hour later.
The villagers slowly regained consciousness. Usopp, trembling, carried the still-unconscious Luffy and Zoro away from the coast, far from Bai Yu.
"Bai Yu, you must take good care of the young lady! If anything happens to her, I will…!" Merry trailed off, glaring at Bai Yu.
Bai Yu waved dismissively. "I'll protect Kaya."
"You…!" Merry fumed, clearly distrustful of him.
"Don't worry, Mr. Merry," Kaya said softly, trying to calm him down. "Brother Bai Yu was only joking."
With that, Kaya and Bai Yu prepared to set sail.
As Bai Yu glanced at the trembling Nami, still squatting in the corner, a notification from his system caught his attention:
"Ding! Host has successfully recruited Kaya as a crew member/subordinate. Congratulations! You have earned a chance to draw a reward from the Myriad Realms. Would you like to draw now?"
"Wait… that counts?" Bai Yu muttered, surprised. He had only joked about "stealing" Kaya, but somehow it worked.
"Start the draw," Bai Yu commanded.
"Ding! Starting the Myriad Realms lottery!"
