Floating Islands: SSS Gacha System

Chapter 77: Chapter 77 - Tents, Horns, and Rabbit Ears

Atlas tossed 10 Standard Tickets into the air, and the results appeared before him:

[You have obtained 6 Rank-B items and 4 Rank-A items!]

The troops erupted into cheers. But none were louder than Baldric, whose booming voice carried above the rest.

"FIRE!!!" he roared, his voice shaking the very structure around them.

"HAHA! Sorry, I got too excited!" Baldric added.

Atlas chuckled, feeling the energy of the moment.

What a great pull to start the night! Four Rank-A items in a single batch.

"Let's make these items incredible and powerful," Atlas said.

[You have received Rank-A Item: Rally Horn]

The first ticket revealed a glowing rally horn, crafted from polished ivory and gold. Inlaid with small gemstones that sparkled faintly under the light.

[Temporarily increases allies' movement speed and critical chance.]

"What is that, My Lord?!" the troops shouted in curiosity

Atlas lifted the Rally Horn to his lips and gave it a try. The sound was both melodious and powerful, resonating in a way that seemed to shake their very cores. Hearts raced, pulses quickened, and everyone felt an immediate surge of energy.

The troops were stunned. Some instinctively jumped in place, while others dashed around the area, marveling at the sensation.

"Yuhu! This is so cool!" one shouted.

"Yeah, I feel lighter all of a sudden!"

Atlas grinned, lowering the horn. "This item temporarily increases movement speed and critical chance. It's the perfect boost for combat. One of the best tools we could have gotten."

The troops erupted into cheers once more.

"FIRE!" they shouted in unison.

[You have received 10 Rank-A Items: Battle Fog Grenades]

A series of small cylindrical items materialized in the air before them.

[Creates a smokescreen that increases ally evasion.]

"Grenades?" Atlas muttered, exhaling deeply.

It wasn't that he disliked the item—far from it. He knew these grenades could be incredibly impactful in battle. But part of him had been hoping for something more extraordinary and permanent. Another character to bolster his roster, or maybe a high-grade weapon, would have felt more thrilling.

Still, he quickly explained the grenades to the troops, and then stored them in his inventory.

C'mon, two more.

Another small item appeared, floating mid-air before Atlas grabbed it.

[You have received Rank-A Item: Iron Will Amulet]

[Prevents mental attacks for 5 minutes.]

Atlas examined the amulet— forged from dark iron, shaped into a shield-like design with glowing red and gold accents. At its center, a gemstone pulses faintly,

Oh, really...

He sighed, though not entirely disappointed. Preventing mental attacks for five minutes was undeniably useful, especially against enemies who relied on mind control or fear tactics.

"This one's solid," he muttered to himself. "Not flashy, but it could be a lifesaver if we run into a strong enemy with mental attacks."

Atlas stored the amulet in his inventory.

"C'mon, give me something amazing this time."

Atlas opened the next ticket, and five scrolls materialized, floating in front of him.

Skill scrolls? he thought for a moment. But no—there were ten of them. Could it be?

[You have received 10 Rank-A Items: Experience Scrolls]

[Effect: Double experience gain for 1 hour.]

Atlas blinked, holding back a mix of amusement and disappointment.

Double experience for 10 hours total… Not bad? Really? No, this isn't that great!

Sure, it could save 10 hours of leveling time, and efficiency was valuable. But was 10 hours of saved grinding truly worth a Rank-A pull?

Well, no use complaining.

After all, he'd gotten these items for free. Still, a part of him couldn't help but wonder if the earlier jackpot of four Rank-A items had somehow caused the quality of this pull to drop.

At least give me a new weapon next time. If not for me, then something useful for the troops.

With that, he tucked the scrolls into his inventory, trying to shake off his frustration and gear up for the next pull.

Atlas tossed another 10 tickets into the air, his hopes high.

C'mon, Rank-S!

The light from the tickets faded, revealing the results:

Brown. Brown. Brown. Brown. Brown.

Man… seriously?

Surely there had to be something extraordinary in this pull, right?

Brown. Brown. Brown.

No? Seriously, no?

Brown. Brown. Purple.

"Only one Rank-A item," Atlas muttered, forcing a grin as he looked at his troops.

Their expressions were a mix of empathy and disappointment, clearly sharing his pain.

Wasting no time, Atlas immediately opened the Rank-A ticket. A metallic shimmer appeared, forming into two small, sleek blocks that floated in front of him.

He grabbed them and read the description:

[You have received 2 Rank-A Items: Ethereal Tent]

[A magical shelter immune to weather and elemental hazards.]

Tents? Really?

Well, they were interesting, and he got two of them. These would certainly come in handy someday—perhaps for dungeon exploration or survival in harsh environments.

But…

Still! This wasn't what he was hoping for!

Atlas shoved the tents into his inventory with a sigh, trying to convince himself that they might be invaluable in the right situation.

Atlas glanced at his troops. He had promised to do 30 pulls tonight, and there was no way he was backing down.

He was so close to the guaranteed Rank-S pull—surely within the next 10 or 20 pulls if luck favored him.

Taking a deep breath, Atlas tossed another 10 tickets into the air, silently praying for something worthwhile.

The light flickered, and then the results appeared:

[You have obtained 9 Rank-B items and 1 Rank-A item!]

Fuc—!

Atlas swiftly opened the brown tickets without hesitation, leaving only the final, precious Rank-A ticket.

He turned to his troops with a resigned but determined grin.

"Surely, this one's going to be something incredible!" he said with a teasing tone.

"What do you think it'll be?" he asked playfully.

"A new cute elite subordinate!" someone shouted.

"An unlimited food machine!" another chimed in, drawing laughter.

"Spa facility!"

Atlas smirked, letting their enthusiasm fuel him as he reached for the ticket. He touched it, and it began to vibrate under his fingertips.

Then—

A strange sound broke the moment. Croak, croak.

The ticket seemed to... tear, as though bitten by something, and fell to the ground. From the spot where it landed, a green aura burst forth, forming a radiant magic circle on the ground.

Damn, this is it! This is it! A new summon!

The air shimmered, and a translucent figure began to materialize above the circle. It was undeniably the form of a new character, though still shaped entirely of energy.

But as Atlas watched, a sense of familiarity struck him. The shape, the aura—there was something about it that he recognized.

The troops noticed it too, their murmurs filling the space.

"That!"

"What's the meaning of this?"

"Could it be?"

The figure solidified slightly, and unmistakable features began to emerge—a pair of rabbit ears.

"Mira?!" someone shouted, breaking the silence.

Everyone froze, staring in shock at the figure before them. Even Mira herself, standing among the troops, looked utterly bewildered.

[You have received Rank-A Character: Mira Springfoot - Blossom Reaper]
