Floating Islands: SSS Gacha Lord

Chapter 182 - Trust with Conditions

Atlas began explaining the terms of the alliance once again, reiterating what he had previously discussed with Luna.

He was certain that Luna had already gone over the details with Celestia and Brigid, but this time, he made sure to emphasize one crucial point: When they won, the island would belong to him.

However, he also clarified that he would share the island's resources with them whenever needed.

Beyond that, since this was meant to be a long-term alliance, they would also share resources, and military strength for future Lord battles, as long as their visions aligned.

That being said, Atlas made it clear that for now, the primary focus of their alliance was to fight together and secure victory in this Dominion Skirmish.

As for whether this alliance would extend into the next Lord Battle season, that would be discussed later. After all, Atlas had his own vision, one that might not fully align with theirs.

In short, this was an alliance that could be temporary or long-term, depending on how things played out in the future.

"What about you, Celly? Do you have any questions?" Luna turned toward Celestia.

Celestia responded with a bright smile.

"Well, I know this might sound strange, and maybe even a little too much, when Atlas makes this kind of proposal… anyone would think it's unrealistic. But I believe he's done his part to prove his worth for this."

She paused, then added, "Besides, I'm sure Atlas has the best people by his side to rely on for the future."

For a moment, she turned her gaze toward Edrik.

"If Atlas and his subordinates continue to grow in level and power, the entire situation will shift in their favor sooner or later. So…" she finished with a playful wink, "I'm okay with this. Honestly, I don't really care who takes the lead, as long as this alliance is mutually beneficial, I'll play my role to the best of my ability. And I believe we can grow stronger together."

Luna gave a slow nod at Celestia's answer.

"Thanks for your words, Celly."

Then, she turned her attention toward Brigid.

"Do you want to speak next, Brigid?"

"I want to hear your thoughts first, Luna." The red-haired warrior responded in a flat tone.

"I don't want my statement to influence your opinion."

"You know that I'm not easily influenced by anyone's opinion, don't you?" Brigid replied, her expression unreadable.

Luna exhaled and gave a small nod. "Then… I'll speak from my side first."

She let out a deep sigh, as if gathering her thoughts before speaking.

"I know I've given Atlas a hard time from the start, trying to push him away, doubting everything he said. Because from any angle, it really was a suicide mission for him to come here. His chances of victory were slim to none. Even so… in the end, he proved everything he promised. And not only that, he followed through on all of it. He did it with every plan and strategy he crafted, something that stronger lords often overlook, believing sheer power alone is enough to solve everything."

"Thanks for your words, Luna. I appreciate your trust in me too," Atlas replied.

However, he didn't entirely agree with her statement.

Because, in truth, none of this would have been possible without Luna's unintentional generosity, whether she realized it or not.

From the very beginning, when she had sent reinforcements to him due to a misunderstanding. Later, when she discovered the truth about Mira not being the real Lord of his island, she had still chosen to set aside her pride and accept it.

And now, she had even allowed Atlas to come this far, letting him into her alliance, giving him the chance to present a proposal that directly challenged her position as leader.

That alone was a huge step.

Luna continued, "And, I also acknowledge that he has big ambitions. However…" She paused for a moment. "His frontal approach and the way he tends to force things through, if those decisions aren't backed by proper resources and force, then I'm sure luck won't always be on your side, Atlas."

She turned to face him directly.

"I accept your proposal. You can claim the island, but we need to talk more when it comes to making major strategic decisions in the future. And, I want to make it clear. If I ever feel that the risks are too high, or if your decisions recklessly endanger too many troops, I reserve the right to withdraw from this alliance."

She took another deep breath before continuing.

"I know it's naive to hope for zero casualties in war, but with better planning and stronger preparation, we can minimize risks as much as possible."

With that, she fell silent, having said her piece.

"That's my stance."

"Thanks, Luna," Atlas responded calmly.

Ember, meanwhile, grinned at Atlas, his expression practically saying: "I told you, right? Luna's easy."

The moment Luna finished speaking, it was already clear, Atlas had secured more than enough votes to make this alliance a reality, just as he had planned.

However… The final Lord had yet to speak. And for some reason, this one felt different.

Brigid had been more reserved, more unreadable than the others. Unlike Celestia, who was openly cheerful, or Luna, who was pragmatic yet reasonable, Brigid carried an air of quiet intensity, a presence that made her seem more unwavering than the rest.

All eyes turned to Brigid, who sat firmly in her seat, her expression as sharp as ever.

"Brigid, I believe this is your turn to speak," Luna prompted.

Brigid gave a small nod before locking eyes with Atlas.

"Thanks for the opinion, Celly, Luna. But I'll accept all of Atlas's terms, if he can defeat me in a one-on-one fight."

Atlas's eyes widened slightly at the sudden declaration.

And he wasn't the only one caught off guard.

Even Celestia and Luna reacted with clear surprise. Because from any logical perspective, this was not a fair fight.
