Floating Island - Triple S Talent

Chapter 379: Shop situation

The people in the sky exchanged glances, terror and astonishment clearly reflected in their eyes. Some of them even trembled, as if what had just happened was a nightmare turned reality.

"The Seed Shop truly lives up to its reputation," said a middle-aged man in luxurious clothing, his voice filled with respect but laced with fear.

"So powerful," muttered an old man in tattered clothes not far from him. His eyes gazed at the shop with admiration and awe. Despite his frail body, his experience as a cultivator allowed him to grasp the immense power that had just been displayed.

Without saying another word, the old man vanished, his body disappearing as if blown away by the wind. The middle-aged man observing him from afar quickly followed suit, not wanting to miss an important moment.

Around the shop, others with lesser power cautiously approached the area. Some floated down carefully, while others hurried on foot, eager to find out what had transpired.

The sword's radiant aura that had filled the sky earlier had vanished without a trace. The atmosphere around the shop returned to calm, as though nothing had happened. However, the lingering fear remained etched in the hearts of those who had witnessed it.

Inside the shop, the old man's body had turned to ash, blown gently by the wind that seeped through the door's crevices. In the Elder's hand, a platinum ring shimmered faintly, reflecting the dim light. Twirling the ring between his fingers, the Elder smiled lightly, as though he had found a treasure that met his expectations.

"Not bad," he murmured softly but with evident satisfaction. Casually, he slipped the ring into his spatial ring.

"Rendy."

"Rachel."

The Elder called out to two overseers who had been working behind the scenes. Both stepped forward immediately, their faces showing clear reverence and awe. They had witnessed the extraordinary power up close, yet emerged unscathed.

"Clean everything up," the Elder ordered briefly before vanishing in the blink of an eye, leaving no time for the two overseers to respond.

"Yes, Elder," Rachel replied, bowing deeply, even though the revered figure had already disappeared from view.

The two overseers exchanged glances, their faces still reflecting total astonishment. Rachel, a woman in bright red attire, tried to process the whirlwind of emotions within her.

"What do you think?" she asked with a long sigh.

"Hahaha… incredibly strong," Rendy replied with a grin, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Though still shaken, there was a newfound energy within him. He couldn't wait for the day he could possess such power.

"Keep it up. I'm already at level 78," Rachel patted Rendy's shoulder, attempting to offer encouragement. Although her words were simple, there was a hint of pride in her tone.

Rendy nodded lightly, his eyes filled with determination. The two seemed to have worked together often, their understanding of each other evident and natural.

After a moment, Rendy stood and observed the area outside. A crowd had already gathered—city guards, elite cultivators, and ordinary citizens. They all lined up, their faces brimming with curiosity.

"Rachel, you handle the shop. I'll deal with these people," Rendy said, stepping toward the exit. Explore more stories at empire

Rachel nodded obediently. She turned to the staff, giving instructions to clean up the shop and restore order.

At the entrance, Rendy stood calmly, facing the crowd now focused intently on him. With a polite bow, he displayed a gesture of respect.

"Everyone… apologies for the minor commotion," he said in a friendly tone.

Some exchanged glances with annoyed expressions. Rendy's words sounded like a joke. "Minor commotion? Is he crazy?" one of them thought with a frown. However, none dared to voice their thoughts aloud. They knew all too well that this shop was not a place to cause trouble after what they had just witnessed.

"Hahaha… Overseer Rendy is too modest," a heavy voice suddenly rang out, followed by the appearance of two figures from thin air. They were the old man in tattered clothing and the middle-aged man in luxurious attire who had been observing the battle from the sky earlier.

Rendy looked at them calmly, his eyes sparkling as he recognized the two figures. A faint smile graced his lips, reflecting respect without excess.

"Glad to hear it. I am very grateful that the two seniors took the time to observe our Seed Shop closely, ensuring nothing destroyed it," Rendy said in a composed tone, his gaze filled with confidence.

His words sounded polite, but to the old man and the middle-aged man, there was an underlying tone that seemed to criticize them for merely watching without helping. The two exchanged glances, their lips tightening, but they could only swallow their pride and force a smile.

Rendy had no intention of offending them, but upon noticing their reactions, he furrowed his brows slightly, feeling puzzled. Nonetheless, he chose not to dwell on it.

"Overseer Rendy, congratulations… congratulations!" another voice suddenly broke the silence. An older man in a gray robe with silver cloud patterns appeared, carrying a small intricately carved box in his hands. He was a personal envoy of the City Lord, Long Wei.

"This is both an apology and a token of congratulations from the City Lord. Please accept it," he said, presenting the box with both hands, showing deep respect.

Rendy took the box without hesitation. He placed it directly into his spatial ring without checking its contents, as if it were a routine matter. "Thank you, Lord Bai. Please convey my regards to the City Lord," he replied casually yet with authority.

Though the three before him were Grandmaster-level cultivators, even possessing Tier-Master power, Rendy did not treat them with excessive deference. He understood that his position as an overseer in the Seed Shop granted him significant authority.

"My apologies, seniors. Let us converse inside. The atmosphere here is less than ideal," Rendy said, glancing at the crowd outside the shop. People were beginning to press forward, their faces filled with curiosity. Some hoped to enter the shop and see the situation inside for themselves.

What they did not expect was the shop's pristine condition, showing no signs of damage. Rachel and the staff had worked swiftly, cleaning up the aftermath of the battle with impressive efficiency. The floor, once filled with sword aura, now gleamed as if nothing had ever happened.

"No need to trouble yourself, Overseer Rendy," said the old man in tattered clothing, waving his hand, followed by nods from the other two. However, Rendy firmly refused their rejection. How could he neglect these three influential figures? They represented major powers in Guandu City and were potential sources of wealth for the Seed Shop.

With genuine hospitality, Rendy invited them to the shop's top floor.
