Flawless Supremacy

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 – Shocking

Gareth sat across from Bethel. His gaze was fixed on this spirit who sat across from him.

She picked up a teacup from the table top.

Swirling the cup gently, the liquid within sloshing around, she brought it to her nose and took a gentle whiff.

Accompanying this action of hers was a slight sip of the tea, before she placed the cup back on the table top.

Gareth looked at his own teacup and the steam wafting from it.

After that magic that had left him spellbound ended, Bethel had walked into the villa that was nothing short of an architectural marvel.

Gareth followed her in, and after a short tour of the villa, they had ended up at this little tea party for two.

Bethel, the unassuming host, had with a wave of her hand conjured the teacups.

With another wave, the water from the stream and the leaves from the forest had floated towards her.

Then with a swirl of her finger, the tea had been prepared.

Gareth, however, was not in the mood for some tea.

He looked into her eyes, now that she had set her cup down.

He had a lot of questions for this spirit who knew a lot more than he could assume.

She had been silent all through their short tour of the villa.

He needed answers to everything that had happened.

She opened her mouth, and the first few words she spoke surprised Gareth to no end.

"I am not here by chance. You should have figured that out by now."

Her eyes moved away from his, as she looked around at the marvelous sight around them.

"All of this was planned out by your parents." She smiled at him.

Gareth first emotion was shock, then incredulity.

"My parents?"

Ever since the pendant had displayed its power, he had the suspicion already. However, having it confirmed to him, was quite the shock.

Weren't these parents of his too powerful?

Next came the question he had always hid in the depth of his heart.

Why had they left him in that forest, where his adoptive parents had picked him up?

"Of course, it is your parents, who else?" She scoffed lightly.

Gareth thought about her words.

"You sound like you know them very well."

"Of course, I do. My aunt was very good to me, and she took care of me a lot. Or for what other reason do you think a regal Paravina spirit like me would be here? Answering the Tolling of the Ancient Bells?"

"Your aunt?" Gareth felt that was probably the most important thing from all he just heard.

"Who happens to be your mother, but don't sweat too much on the details." Bethel said, waving her hands, as if telling him to really not sweat on the detail.

Bethel stood up from her chair. She swept her hand across as she gestured at the beautiful forest that surrounded them.

"You see all of these. While I am still far from reaching this level. I will do what my aunt had asked of me."

Her eyes locked onto his, steely in their determination.

"I will bring you to this level, and make you surpass it."

Gareth was surprised at her declaration, and he could not resist raising one of his brows.

"How can you bring me to a level you haven't reached yourself?"

"I have my unmatchable confidence." She replied him in all seriousness. Her nose pointed to the skies of this wondrous world. Her posture valiant, despite the cute look she had on her face.

Gareth almost found himself laughing. He held it in, but there was a very bright smile on his face. However, there were still thoughts on his mind that he could only keep to himself.

Bethel could sense his doubts.

She stretched her hand out to him.

"Come, come. Let this teacher bring you to experience the world. Don't worry about the things that would become clear when the time is right."

Gareth looked at her outstretched hand, beckoning him, then he clasped her hands.

Gareth felt this Paravina spirit was genuine, and her intentions were quite in his favor. It was also a fact that he had a lot to learn from her, and she had a lot to teach him going by all the things he had witnessed so far.

Bethel dragged him out of the little mansion, she walked into the forest. A gentle smile on her face, as she basked in the joy of the forest.

After they had walked for who knew how long, Bethel stopped in her tracks.

She turned to Gareth, her face serious, as she stretched her hand forward, her palm upturned.

At first, Gareth was only staring at her smooth palm, then suddenly a flame was lit. A little wisp that danced atop her palm, from a spark, it then turned into a raging inferno still bound within her palm.

Gareth stared at the flame, which he knew was a manifestation of world energy. He felt a flaring heat, despite how cool his body was. The flame blazed for a while before it transformed into water. From a drop, her palm came to contain a boundless ocean.

Gareth felt a great pressure, as if he was within the depths of the ocean.

The boundless ocean transformed into a raging wind, and then a great mountain before it went through a myriad of other transformations.

He watched clearly as Bethel did all this, his attention focused entirely on her actions.

Every one of her actions amazed him, and opened him to new sets of questions. His thoughts were running around, and he could barely catch one thought, before another stray thought popped up.

This application of world weaving was beyond what reading a few books could achieve. He knew that before him was a true master.

After the little demonstration, Bethel looked at Gareth.

"This is just some of the basics I would be teaching you for the time being."

Her words gave Gareth a bout of surprise.

"This is just the basics?"

Bethel nodded.

"It is. It might look simple, but it contains a whole load of basic and foundational knowledge and techniques."

Gareth could only nod at that. Indeed, now that he wasn't so mesmerized by the sight before him, he began to notice some of the things he had learnt present in that simple display.

"How is it? Aren't I your teacher just too amazing?"

"'You very much are."

Looking at that smile of hers, Gareth had no choice but to agree.
