Amelia sat in the back seat of the car, staring out the window, a detached expression framing her face. The rising city lights blurred past, and the hum of traffic filtered through the window, filling the silence in the car.

Memories of the past, when her mother was still alive and healthy flowed through her mind, filling her with bittersweet feelings. If only she could go back into the past and change her mother's fate.

"Amy..." Maria's calm and soothing voice broke through Amelia's reveries. She placed her hand on Amelia's interlocked fingers, forcing the latter's eyes away from the window. "Are you alright?" She asked, saddened by the silent tears flowing down the side of Amelia's face.

Amy simply nodded, forcing a thin smile across her lips. Her once brilliant and captivating hazel eyes were now dim and void of life.

"You know I'm here for you, right ." Maria lifted her hand and stroked Amelia's chin.

Amelia bobbed her head, biting down on her inner lower lips to stifle a sob. She leaned into her mother-in-law's touch, closing her eyes and trying to focus her mind on beautiful memories.

"I promise you, we will get through this together. Everything will be alright." Maria pulled her closer to herself and wrapped her arms around her.

Time seemed to pass by slowly as the mother and daughter held onto each other for support.

When the car finally came to a halt, Henry announced in his usual cheerful voice.

"We are here."

"Good," Maria replied with a smile. She turned her attention to Amelia, who was already sitting up straight. "It's time, dear." She stretched her open palm towards her.

Amelia exhaled, staring at her mobile phone for one last time. A part of her was unwilling to let go of the iPhone because it reminded her of Blaze.

The phone was his very first gift to her, and over time, it had become one of her most valuable accessories.

"You will get it back when you return to the city," Maria added, sensing the hesitation in Amelia's expression.

"Sure." She was about to switch it off when an unexpected call from her father came in.

"It's dad." Amelia lifted her moist gaze to Maria.

"Go ahead. Talk to him. We still have time."

"Thanks." Amelia swiped the receive button and brought the phone to her right ear. "Hello, Dad."

"Hi, princess. It feels so good to hear your voice again. I thought I wouldn't be able to reach you."

"Well, you're lucky because I was about to turn off my phone. We are already at the airport." Amelia's voice cracked, more burning tears blurring her vision as she listened to her dad's voice tremble.

"Well, I should count myself lucky to have an amazing daughter like you. I'm so sorry I couldn't be the best father you hoped for. I wish I could go back in time and correct all my mistakes. Please forgive me for disappointing you and your mother.

"Dad..." Amelia choked on her words, cupping her mouth while sobbing quietly.

Maria watched helplessly as Amelia continued sobbing while speaking to her father over the phone. She was tempted to collect the phone from Amelia and scold the senator for worsening his daughter's depressed mood. But she knew the father and daughter needed this special moment since Amelia wouldn't be communicating with anyone until she finally gave birth.

"I forgive you..." Amelia's raspy voice echoed after a few sobs. "And I don't want you to keep blaming yourself for what happened. I need you to be strong for me. I would like to have you around when my child is born."

"I won't miss it for anything in this world."

Amelia smiled amid tears. "Thank you, dad."

"You are welcome, my angel." There was a slight pause before the senator added. "I also wanted to let you know that I have finally divorced that evil witch. I have sent her and her daughter, alongside her sister out of our home. I will make sure they all suffer and pay for what they did to us."

"That's good to know," Amelia replied, beaming proudly.

Henry gave Amelia a signal and she said.

"I've got to go now, Dad."

"Okay, my princess. I will miss you greatly."

"Me too." Amelia cupped her mouth, holding back her sob.

I love you, my priceless jewel."

"I love you too, Dad."

"Bye."

Amelia blew kisses over the phone before saying. "Bye." She ended the call and gave the phone to Maria who immediately switched it off to avoid any calls from disrupting their movement.

Maria handed both Amelia's phone and her own phone to Henry before turning her attention to Amelia. She embraced Amelia, allowing her to cry a little on her shoulder until she felt better.

"Shall we."

Amelia nodded in response as Henry opened the rear door. She alighted the car, holding onto Henry for support, and slowly eased herself into the wheel chair a young female nurse was holding.

"I'm really going to miss you, Amy." Henry crouched and embraced her tenderly.

"Me too." Amelia pulled away from him, forcing a smile as Maria came around to join them. "Make sure you take good care of my cousin and ensure she doesn't run into any form of danger."

"I will protect her with my life."

"Yeah, right, Mr lover Boy and triple star bodyguard." Maria teased winking at Henry. "Just make sure you don't start planning a wedding without us."

"A wedding!" Henry raised his brow in alarm while guiding Amelia toward the private jet, where a team of nurses and doctors, including Dr Vanessa, were already waiting to receive them. "We haven't officially started dating. We are still in the friend zone."

"So says the man who was so lost while hugging the beautiful damsel in the garden and capturing her heart with chocolate."

"Mum! I can't believe you guys were spying on us." Henry's accusing eyes darted between Amelia and Maria.

A thin smile spread across Amelia's lips. "I'm really going to miss you, Henry."

"Me too." Henry halted in front of the doctors, who were beaming and waiting patiently.

"Good morning, Mrs Anderson, senior and junior." Dr Vanessa's greeted politely while exchanging cordial greetings with Henry too. "Are we ready for the trip?"

Amelia turned back to look at Henry and her loyal guards who won't be travelling with her. She wished she could take one last look at the city horizon again beyond the private hanger which was heavily guarded.

"I don't know."

"Don't worry, Amy." Henry helped her up to her feet and patted her on the shoulder. "You'll be back before you know it. When we meet again, you will have become a beautiful, proud mother, and I will be the proudest godfather to my godson."

"You will make such an amazing godfather." Amelia smiled, tears leaking from the side of her eyes, as she patted Henry on the chin.

"Aww!" Maria beamed. "I'm also going to miss you, troublesome young man." She pulled Henry to herself and gave him a squishy hug. "Make sure you take care of the mansion and do not turn it into your little love nest."

"How did you know what I was thinking, mum?"

Everyone burst into laughter.

"All right, shall we." Dr Venessa urges, noticing Amelia's knee wobble slightly from standing.

Amelia was guided into the private jet and led to the private bedroom, where she could rest, eat and also take her medication.

After the final announcement was made by the pilot for everyone to settle down, the plane slowly rolled out of the hangar onto the tarmac.

Henry watched as the plane finally took off to an unknown destination where a surprise was waiting for Amelia.
