Chapter 1078: Seeing All of These Old Faces...
It had been a while since the last time Abaddon had seen Demeter. Upwards of five thousand years, easily.
When they spoke last, it was due to his own decision.
He just... stopped answering her summons. Made sure that he was always away whenever she came to the house.
It was a hard choice, but one he felt he had to make.
His friendship with Demeter had put a strain on his relationship.
Ayaana never said anything, but he knew they were uncomfortable.
There was a difference between Karliah's, and, at the time, even Lusamine's shallow, craven attempts at flirtation and what Demeter seemed to want from him.
She hung around the house until late at night. Between her longing gazes and the way she tried to dote on Abaddon like his own mother, he was amazed that the girls never tried to kill her.
Back then, he didn't understand it. But his wives weren't crazy for the sake of being crazy.
Aside from Mateo and Nyx, Demeter was Abaddon's best friend in the whole world. He never had any impure intentions toward her.
They would laugh, drink, play the occasional game... he even got Demeter to try a cigar once. Granted, she hacked up half a lung as a result, but it was still harmless fun.
Ayaana never wanted to kill someone Abaddon was actually close to. Nor did they want to be the ones to tell him to stay away from her.
He was the one doing everything right. They didn't want to lash out at him for that.
But Abaddon wasn't quite as dense as his sisters would have everyone believe. When he noticed just how much his relationship with Demeter bothered the others, he put a stop to everything.
Granted, he probably could have found a better way to do it... But Abaddon was more concerned with being a good husband than anything else. Ayaana was his everything. Nothing else mattered.
So years later, when he finally saw Demeter again, he was noticeably shaken up.
When they made eye contact, he attempted to nod and go on about his business, but Demeter began walking over with flushed cheeks.
The first thing Abaddon did was look toward Ayaana and Zahara.
Naturally, they saw everything as it was happening and made no overt moves.
Ayaana simply shrugged and gave her husband a reassuring smile. "It's okay. You don't have to worry about us."
Gabbrielle didn't understand anything that was happening. She thought that seeing an old family friend after so long would be a good thing.
However, Demeter was about twenty paces away from them when another set of faces got there first.
""Our friends!!""
A muscled and energetic Ares strided in with a beautiful and equally energetic Aphrodite.
The god of war swooped in and gave Abaddon a crushing hug while laughing gleefully.
"My friend, it has been too long! You've grown, eh? Finally switched to eating your wheeties instead of pussy, eh?"
'God, why does everyone say that...' Abaddon sighed.
He looked for Demeter, but found her gone. No doubt scared off by the arrival of the Greek couple.
Ares covered his mouth suddenly when he saw who was sitting atop his shoulder.
"Oop. Apologies, to the tiny princess. It must be disconcerting to hear adults use such naughty language, eh?"
Baby Gabbrielle cracked a small, indecipherable smile.
"Oh my stars, aren't you lovely!"
Aphrodite circled Zahara six times over like a rabid dog.
A suffocating pink aura began to surround her, the same way it always did when she found someone new and attractive.
Zahara's expression was a blank slate. However, her eyes shone with a mild distaste.
Aphrodite grabbed her by her face. "Oh my dear, I could just eat you up!"
She kissed Zahara on both sides of her cheeks before going for her lips.
Ayaana grabbed her hard by the jaw and shook her.
"What do you think you're doing with our wife? Keep your filthy lips to yourself."
Aphrodite found her words funny. She parted her lips and gave Ayaana's hand a small lick.
"You all are always so cute when you're jealous. Are the little ones in there?"
Ayaana's eyes turned two distinct colors. Valerie's red, and Tatiana's bright gold. "Little..?"
"Well, I don't know what you expect me to call two little amateurs. Who's ever heard of a sex goddess who has only slept with nine- or I guess now it's ten people? So boring."
Aphrodite appeared behind Ayaana, floating in the air like a delirious pixie.
She brought her lips to the goddess's ear. And spoke in a sweet voice that could lull even the most devoted nun into sin.
"We should get together sometime after this is all over. A little playtime among friends does wonders to widen one's horizons~"
Ayaana grabbed Aphrodite by the neck this time and held her so tightly that for a moment the goddess thought she had gone too far.
"You are so unfoundedly overconfident. All of your bluster may work when you're trying to satisfy humans, but I think you're forgetting that we don't exactly fit that description."
Ayaana's twin colored eyes shone with a dangerous glow.
"I'm afraid that the tricks you're used to pulling with everyone else... just won't do it for us. Sorry." She winked.
Aphrodite, who usually led everyone else around by the nose, suddenly looked like she was going to spontaneously combust with excitement.
A noticeable trail ran down her legs that was not there beforehand.
"W-Well... I'd love to... get some personal experience in the matter if you'd be so welcoming."
"Maybe we'll send you a video sometime. If you ask us nicely, that is."
"Should I get on my knees and beg?"
"Oh, now we're getting somewhere~"
Aphrodite might as well have been putty.
"I swear, why can't any of you greet each other normally for once?"
"If I didn't know you were playing, I might be mildly interested." Abaddon folded his arms.
Ares perked up. "W-Wait, really? If so, maybe we can all-"
"Finishing that sentence may come at the cost of your life."
"-get a pizza together. Aphrodite has been on this whole vegetarian kick, but I'm sure we can find something more suitable." Ares finished.
"A nice ending."
Ayaana and Aphrodite hugged each other while showing their husbands large, innocent eyes.
"Aww, come on. It's just how we play from time to time. We don't mean anything by it." Aphrodite insisted. "These two are the funniest bitches I've ever met."
Sex goddesses do have weird ways of communicating with each other. Just as there's a thin line between hate and love, the line between teasing, anger, and playful banter was equally small.
Valerie and Tatiana got carried away occasionally. However, this was Izanami's first time seeing it. And even while sharing a body with Sif, her blood was absolutely boiling.
The temperature started to drop in the entirety of heaven. Ice formed along Zahara's feet and hands, and the shadows at her feet danced.
"I'm glad you find it funny. At least you'll go to Oblivion with a laugh to keep you company."
Aphrodite wisely put some space between herself and Ayaana.
However, none of that settled Zahara's fierce glare. Valerie and Tatiana were starting to think that they'd played a little bit too much. They vacated Ayaana's body and tried to explain.
"B-Babe, you see-"
"W-We were just joking, and-"
Zahara ignored them both and grabbed Abaddon by his arm. She started leading him up the stairs to the main colosseum without waiting for any of them.
"Come on, kids! We don't want to be late." Zahara called over her shoulder. "Leave your mothers to play with their whores."
Most of Abaddon's children couldn't hear her. They had all placed headphones on their ears the minute Aphrodite showed up. The few that didn't were extremely traumatized.
Ayaana gave Valerie and Tatiana an agitated glare before she chased after them.
The two sex goddesses were on the verge of tears. ""Babeeee!""
While the parents walked into the colosseum, Ares and Aphrodite remained behind, wondering where things had gone horribly wrong.
That is, until Aphrodite found something new to play with.
"Hey, guys!" She called. "It's okay to play with the kiddos, right?"
"Not Bash!" Abaddon yelled back.
Bashenga looked offended. "As if I have any interest in exchanging bodily fluids with the divine equivalent of a human toilet seat."
"Rude!" Aphrodite huffed.
However offended she pretended to be, the sex goddess got over her anger rather quickly as her eyes settled on two new objects of prey.
"Your brother hurt my feelings... You two wouldn't mind cheering me up sometime, would you??" She asked with a whimper.
Straga looked like he was going to combust. Belloc even more so.
"I'm married."
"Same here."
Aphrodite smiled as if she loved hearing those words.
"Oh, you don't need to worry about that, sweethearts. So am I. But we can all be team players, can't we?"
The brothers unconsciously looked towards Ares, then back to each other.
Straga was about to be sick. "I don't feel safe."
Belloc, on the other hand, didn't look quite so disturbed.
He pulled out his phone and started texting.
"What are you doing??"
"Asking for permission." Belloc shrugged.
Two distinct dings came from his cellular device and he lifted his phone.
"They want pictures first."
Aphrodite let out another happy squeal.
Two more dings came shortly after the photos were taken.
"They said no."
Belloc and Straga moved past the sex goddess in unison.
Aphrodite was a frozen statue, stuck in place with her heart broken and her self-esteem crushed.
Ordinarily, she would have flown into a blind rage and cursed the boys and their wives, but their identities made that kind of thing impossible.
So she did the only thing she could. Laid down on the steps and cried.
