Chapter 718: New Functions
Male Dormitory, 6th Floor, Rebirth Tower.
Zephyr returned to his room and sat on his bed, heart still pounding from his meeting with Rhea.
"So in the end, I got this 'Keeper's Watch,'" he whispered, pulling the silver bracelet from his pocket. He slipped it onto his left wrist.
He injected some wisdom power into it.
The bracelet's glassy surface suddenly glowed with a bluish light, projecting a holographic screen before his eyes.
"Whoa! Is this its ability? Amazing!"
Six icons appeared on the blue screen.
"Analysis, Inventory, Library, Call, Map, and Quest." He touched the 'Analysis' option and saw a detailed profile of himself.

…
"Wow!" Zephyr breathed, overwhelmed by the information.
He calmed himself and clicked the next icon—'Inventory.' A strange pulling sensation washed over him. The next moment, he found himself standing in a quiet, empty void.
'Feels like a space ring.' He looked around and spotted a sheathed sword floating nearby.
'A gift?'
He withdrew his consciousness and summoned the sword into reality. As he examined it, his eyes widened.
"Moonfire… a rare weapon?"
Rare weapons were beyond the reach of someone like him. From what Butler Nigel had once said, even a low-tier rare weapon could cost between 500 to 1000 silver coins.
Epic or Extraordinary Weapons? Those could reach up to 100 Sacred Coins.
As for Pseudo Legendary and Legendary weapons—those were priceless. Only auctions, ancient ruins, or deep dungeons could yield such treasures.
'And this Keeper's Watch... it must be a Legendary Grade artifact.' The thought alone sent a shiver down his spine. 'With something like this, my safety just skyrocketed.'
He stored the sword in his space ring and turned his focus to the next icon.
'Library?' He clicked it and felt the same pulling sensation.
In a blink, he stood in a vast room filled with rows upon rows of bookshelves.
He walked to the nearest shelf, pulled out a book, and flipped it open.
'Basic Spirit Absorption Technique.'
There were books on Light Elements, even spellbooks—dozens of them.
"So, it's real," he whispered in awe. "A mind library to store books…"
With some effort, he withdrew his consciousness from the Library and clicked the 'Call' icon.
'It's a communication device,' he realized.
To him, this was just as valuable as the rare sword.
'I could call professors… even Tower Masters, if I end up in trouble.'
He noticed saved contact information and made a mental note to use it wisely.
Next, he examined the map.
'Only a 10-meter radius?'
His room and the nearby rooms appeared on the screen. Small blue dots moved across the layout.
'Blue dots must be people.'
A short description beneath the map confirmed it. The map marked visited locations and updated itself automatically.
'This'll be perfect for dungeons and ruins.'
Finally, he clicked the last icon: 'Quest.'
"This is new," he muttered.
A new window opened, displaying three sections: 'World Quest,' 'Daily Quest,' and 'Unique Quests.'
He clicked on 'World Quest.'
…
[Main Quest 1: Leave the Rebirth Tower and become a Member of the Mystic Guild
Requirement: Rank-1 Mystic
Description: Before the end of Chaos Era 0001 (January 30), the host must become a member of the Mystic Guild and obtain at least a Bronze rank.
Reward: 'Dawn' Potion of Stamina (+1 permanent increase to Constitution)]
…
"Whoa… a quest with such a reward?" His eyes lit up.
A 'Dawn' Potion of Stamina was incredibly valuable, even in the Tower. It wasn't something a Rank-1 Mystic like him could afford.
'And the Mystic Guild…'
The organization had been created by a dozen Legendary Mystics to unite all Mystics under one banner. Though loose in structure, it offered escort and subjugation-type quests. His classmates had once mentioned that to join, one needed to solo a Rank-1 Magical Beast.
'I've killed many with the help of Silvercrest guards, but taking one down alone? That's another story.'
He frowned, thinking hard.
'How am I supposed to do this?'
He switched to the 'Daily Quest' section.
Unlike the world quest, this one displayed three tasks.
[Daily Quest 1: Perform 1000 swings using the 'Moonlight Blade Technique'
Time Limit: 23 hr 50 mins
Reward: +2% progression to Moonlight Mirage (Permanent)]
[Daily Quest 2: Meditate using 'Basic Spirit Absorption Technique' for 4 hours
Time Limit: 23 hr 50 mins
Reward: +0.5 permanent increase to Wisdom]
[Daily Quest 3: Kill 10 Goblins
Time Limit: 23 hr 50 mins
Reward: +3% Basic Sword Aura (Permanent)]
His gaze lingered on the tasks. Each one offered a meaningful reward.
His lips curled into a faint smile.
"So this is what I've been handed… Not bad at all."
As soon as Zephyr saw the quests, his eyes widened.
The rewards are too great to give up any of them, he thought. But his attention quickly zeroed in on the third quest.
Kill 10 Goblin monsters?
He had only read about such creatures in books and tales two years ago. But when dungeons began appearing all over the plane, these small monsters emerged from those mysterious pillars, spreading chaos. While they posed little threat to mystics, the same couldn't be said for ordinary mortals.
I can complete this one easily, he nodded inwardly and checked the 'Unique Quest' icon.
Empty... His brows furrowed briefly before he decided to enter the Illusionary Library. His first objective: find the Moonlight Blade Technique and complete the first daily quest with it.
In a blink, his consciousness slipped into the illusionary realm. He began skimming book titles, scanning shelf after shelf. After a few minutes, he finally spotted a black-covered book with a half-moon symbol etched on its surface.
"I should read this and finish the daily quest quickly." He settled into a nearby chair and began reading in silence.
…
Domain of Dragonbones, Underworld
The Underworld—also known as the World of the Undead—was one of the ten supreme planes of the universe. It was a realm where the veil between the real and astral worlds thinned and overlapped. Undead creatures ruled the land, waging constant war over territory. Chaos reigned, and death was the norm.
The sky was a void of eternal night, lit only by the distant, eerie glow of stars and the haunting light of multiple moons. Their spectral illumination painted the land in a ghostly hue.
The inhabitants of the Underworld were born from nether lakes, ponds, rivers, and seas. Undead skeletons rose from these waters—only to face a brutal, short existence. Most perished within days, their remains sinking into nether roots, only to be reborn in an endless cycle of death and rebirth.
When a soul entered the Underworld, it was cursed to live as an undead skeleton, enduring countless deaths. Each demise chipped away fragments of its former life, until eventually, all memories vanished. Only then could the soul be released from the Underworld's grasp.
But release didn't come easily. It could take tens of thousands of years before a soul lost enough of itself to rejoin the grand cycle of reincarnation and return to a physical world, finally free.
There were nine major domains in the Underworld, ruled by four Soul Kings and five Overlords. These beings stood at the pinnacle of power; even one of them could reduce a high plane to ruin.
The Domain of Dragonbones belonged to Overlord Varos.
Though Dragonbones was the smallest and weakest domain, it still spanned over 150 million square kilometers. Despite being a land of the dead, it wasn't barren or mindless—it was filled with undead cities and towns.
Titus had survived here for decades, relying solely on his skills. He had risen to become a Rank-5 Evil Cleanser and Rank-6 Shadow Weaver. With aid from Rhea's ancestor, whom he'd met by sheer coincidence, he'd even gained the title Knight of Ghost Valley City.
An eerie castle city stood nestled between jagged mountains, surrounded by withering trees and dead rock. Within its blackened walls, countless undead skeletons walked and conversed like ordinary citizens. Some bore strange skeletal forms; others were massive in size.
More than a million undead called this city home. It was ruled by a Rank-7 Ghost Queen named Melisa.
The shadowy cliffs made the valley even darker. A small nether river ran beside the castle, adding to the gloom.
From time to time, small skeletons would crawl out of the river, dragging themselves toward the city like lifeless puppets. They were the newly born.
Atop the castle wall stood a towering skeleton—over two meters tall—his frame wide and thick. A tattered black robe was draped over his skeletal form, partially concealing his skull. He stared silently at the crawling newborns before shaking his head.
This was Titus Jones.
He had left the Edhen World and traversed the astral plane, arriving here only an hour ago.
