Chapter 4: First Loss
I toss Izuku on the field in front of me. "Listen Izuku you need to change how you use your quirk!" He looks at me puzzled. "What do you mean?" I sigh "For someone so smart your stupid stop focusing on All-Might and break away from your narrow pathway." His eyes gain a sense of realization and tries to channel that energy differently.
"You ready to lose again Bakugo?" I get into position as does he "Bring it you bastard I'll kill you!" I smile wildly "That's what I'm looking for." I charge him and he charges me I swing more precisely, and I hit his side, but he took less damage than he should've. I ran at him each hit seems to do barely anything but tire him slightly.
His blasts are doing practically no physical damage but he's aiming at my joints and other areas that take more to heal. I keep attacking relentlessly hoping to win. I land some solid hits two to his ribs and one to his back. Eventually it takes its toll on me hands shake my grip loosens, and I catch a massive explosion knocks me on my back and for the first time since we started Bakugo won. "How'd you figure it out?" He smirks proudly "In our sparring match the other day I noticed your joints healed slower and the rest was easy." I sigh and sit up "Damn it!"
Meanwhile Izuku figured it out and is using full cowling. "Good job broccoli top now we spar!" I slip on a pair of brass knuckles "Get ready for a beating!" Izuku takes initiative and lands a hit on my side. "Nice try but not good enough!" I punch him square in the gut and he's down. "Get up Izuku is this best you can do!" He looks at me feeling disgruntled. "Is this all being a hero amounts to what happens when a villain hurts someone because of your inadequacies!?"
He looks at me with renewed vigor "I'll win!" I smile "Are you sure you can?" He simply stares at me with a fire in his eyes "It's not whether I can or not I have to for everyone in need!" I get into position. "All talk! Show me what you got." And so, we fought each day him getting better along the way until eventually he also defeated me. "The sports festival is tomorrow, Izuku you did good." He nodded and ran off after he left, I collapsed but Aizawa caught me.
He sets me in a chair. "Thanks, Mr. Aizawa." He glared at me for a moment. "Nezu guessed you'd be exhausted because of that healing quirk." I sigh and chuckle. "Yeah, those two did a number on me." He looks at me for a bit "You've pushed yourself too far." I chuckle "Bakugo was the easy one he has amazing instincts and the mind to use them effectively, but Izuku needed more work he's pilled on fear and doubt and carries it wherever he goes." Aizawa simply nods in agreement.
I make my way to my apartment and relax as I internalize my loses and think of what I can do to improve myself.
