Faulty Utopia

Chapter 306: Chapter 308 Space-Based

"Don't... don't kill me... I still haven't finished paying off my mortgage..."

When Sun Jack heard this, his heart jolted fiercely; he suddenly realized that this person was conscious.

Not only conscious, but it also seemed that he had volunteered for the experiment.

The Mech Crazy, lying on the ground, had difficulty swallowing saliva and looked at Sun Jack with pleading eyes. "I'm sorry, I really didn't want to hurt you. I... I... just wanted to give my daughter a home in this cold world... I really can't die, if I die, my daughter will have to pay the mortgage."

After saying this, he collapsed, completely devoid of any drive.

Looking at the dead Mech Crazy, Sun Jack ground his teeth fiercely. "Fuck! Damn it, a bunch of bastards!"

He knew Gaofeng Technology, as a monopolistic company, was capable of anything, but he had still underestimated how low they would stoop.

With anger in his heart, Sun Jack was about to charge in, when one Mech Crazy after another emerged from the Sky-base Weapon, blocking his path.

Their bodies had different minor deformities, and the prosthetic bodies installed on them varied, but what they all shared was the uncontrollable killing intent and madness in their eyes.

It was clear that the previous situation was not an isolated incident; as long as Gaofeng Technology existed, this would never end.

Steelheart charged ahead, lifting the Graviton Cannon and firing directly at the mechanical monster, but the creature deftly evaded, rushing towards Steelheart with an afterimage, hugging the ground.

"Don't engage them in close combat! Tapai! Jam their systems and prosthetic bodies!" Sun Jack immediately called for reinforcements with the others.

Though they looked utterly insane, they managed to coordinate against Sun Jack's Dagger Group.

And the numbers were growing; more and more Mech Crazies kept crawling out of the Sky-base Weapon, clearly placed here specifically to protect it.

As the fierce battle raged, suddenly, with a creaking noise, the curved dome overhead slowly opened, revealing the Leviathan Space Mothership of Gaofeng Technology, its overwhelming presence appearing before him.

The next second, various hatches opened and supersonic fighters flew directly above them, relentlessly dropping bombs in a frenzied bombardment.

Clearly, they didn't regard those mechanical test subjects as their own comrades.

But this was just the beginning; remote sniping, drone swarms, remote interference, an array of attacks put Sun Jack and the others in an increasingly perilous situation, and the death rate on the system dashboard kept climbing.

This situation wouldn't last much longer; if they didn't come up with a solution soon, they wouldn't just fail to seize the Sky-base Weapon, they would all die here!

It was when Sun Jack saw one of his clones getting blasted into fragments, with half of a head rolling past his eyes, that his eyes suddenly lit up. "I've got an idea!"

The next second, Sun Jack quickly took off his mech suit and rushed towards a Mech Crazy who was just getting up from the ground.

He seemed to have received a critical injury just moments ago, but in just that short time, the wound had already scabbed over.

Against such a monster that was impervious to both physical and mental attacks, they had to resort to another approach.

Although both parties' bodies had been modified, the combat experience of Sun Jack was not something the Mech Crazies could deal with.

Feigning a flaw, just as his left foot was directly grasped by the opponent's half-meter-long palm, Sun Jack violently yanked out three data cables from behind his neck and plunged them straight into the port behind the opponent's ear.

The next second, as the pupil of the Cyber Lunatic in front of him suddenly contracted and then dilated, its consciousness and personality had already switched to that of Sun Jack.

"Help me!" Sun Jack roared at the Cyber Lunatic in front of him, yanking his foot free and going to break Hanks out of the encirclement.

Once this thoroughly modified monster had Sun Jack's consciousness and personality, the situation began to change. It started to follow the real Sun Jack, assisting him in quickly taking control of its kin.

A moment ago, Sun Jack alone could input personality, but now with a helper, the operation became even faster.

With those three data cables constantly being plugged and unplugged, more and more mechanical monsters with Sun Jack's personality emerged, and when their number exceeded half, the tide began to turn.

And when all the Mech Crazies became Sun Jack, the situation was completely different.

The combat units flying in mid-air were swiftly dealt with, and some mechanical monsters even found the control panel of the entire underground facility and began to close the opened dome. For a time, the opposing sides actually became evenly matched.

"Hold on! I'm about to activate the Sky-base Weapon!" Sun Jack shouted to his companions outside and dashed toward the entrance.

It seemed that the test subjects were the last defense line of the Sky-base Weapon; once they were dealt with, there would be no protective measures left inside.

Walking through the corridors of the Sky-base Weapon, apart from some Gaofeng Technology researchers left behind, everything was as he had seen in space: cold, clean, empty.

Facing Sun Jack, full of murderous intent, these researchers shrunk their heads into their knees, trembling all over in terror.

"Quick, quick, quick!" An exceedingly anxious Sun Jack kicked open the door to the control panel, constantly urging Tapai.

As Tapai controlled the translucent sensing wires inside his prosthetic body and inserted them into the control panel, the delicate fingers of the three researchers at his side split into dozens of filaments, frenetically tapping on the translucent holographic keyboard.

Before they had control for long, there was a click, and the entire Sky-base Weapon went dark.

"Want a second round, huh? Getting screwed over once is enough!" The clone Sun Jack, who had already been waiting in the energy room, swiftly connected to the three high-energy reactors that AA had prepped.

As the speed of Tapai's researcher's fingers increased, Tapai's translucent sensing cables began to emit a white glow and, accompanied by a shaking noise, the entire Sky-base Weapon began to tremble, slowly disconnecting from its metal frame, with the sensing lights on all sides starting to blink erratically.

"It's working!" Sun Jack clenched his fists in excitement.

"Boss! Get out of there! It's not good! That Spacecraft Carrier is gearing up for something big!"

"What?!" When Sun Jack shared AA's view, he saw the Spacecraft Carrier, already floating mid-air, beginning to emit a bright light from its underside, growing increasingly intense!

As Sun Jack spotted the Sky-base Weapon at the base of that bright light, he immediately felt shivers down his spine, his body going cold. "Damn it! This thing is going to destroy us and the Sky-base Weapon all together!"
