Chapter 22: Chapter 22 Earning Money
```
In a corner of the Hot Dog Restaurant, just as Sun Jack felt a shiver down his spine while looking at the Si Ai girl, he suddenly noticed a tall, sharply-dressed black man about two meters high, wearing sunglasses and carrying a red metallic book, walking towards them.
Before the man even arrived, Sun Jack's body tensed up, and he quickly gripped the rifle behind Tapai.
It wasn't for any other reason but the fact that this black man had an upside-down cross tattoo on his neck—the same tattoo that Baldy, the one who had cut off his own arm, had! He was a member of the Satan Gang!
"Hey, it's okay, no need to be nervous, this is Priest, he has already left the Satan BOY, look, beneath the cross is a crown of thorns." Song6PUS hurried over to mediate.
As the black man known as Priest sat down with a cold expression, the already small table felt a bit crowded.
Sun Jack braced himself, knowing that serious business was about to be discussed. Song6 had brought all these people here, and it was clear it wasn't for a meal.
"Hehehe, everyone, to avoid any leaks, let's talk online." Following Song6's voice in Sun Jack's mind, an invitation popped up in front of Sun Jack's eyes.
After clicking agree, a simple UI appeared, showing that the others present were also online.
"Can everyone hear me?" Song6's voice resonated in everyone's ears.
"Since we're all experienced, I won't waste words and will get right to the point. This time, our client wants us to retrieve something from an offline server at a death metal star's house. The guy's into asphyxiation SEX, and rumors have it his band's past two bass players' deaths were related to him—in other words, we're going to dig up his dirty secrets."
"Huh, playing paparazzi? Really boring." The Si Ai girl lit a cigarette and began to smoke.
"Wait, why snoop on a star's gossip? Why all this trouble?" Sun Jack asked.
If it were a paparazzi's job, it would seem excessive to bring a Battlefield Doctor, right? And considering the substantial reward of 5 @ Coins, Sun Jack felt there was more to it.
Song6 spread his hands and shrugged his shoulders. "Because he's a VIP of Gaofeng Technology's security service D-year card."
Hearing this, Sun Jack gasped. Gaofeng Technology—that was the company with the gigantic Spacecraft Carrier he had just landed on!
"Damn, do you really think we can take on that thing floating up there?" Sun Jack felt like Song6 was leading them to their deaths.
"Relax~, don't get so worked up, he only bought Gaofeng Technology's insurance, not all its shares. He can't afford it, so he can't hire the Leviathan V5."
As Song6 waved his hand, a 3D holographic model appeared before everyone.
"This guy's villa has 4 levels, each with 2 security robots. The place we need to find is on sublevel 2, room 3."
"His band (Slit Throat for You) is expected to attend a coming-out party at some rich person's house tomorrow morning. His home will be empty then; that's our chance."
As Song6 spoke, various details of the plan appeared swiftly in front of Sun Jack as graphics.
"Next, I'll outline the plan. When we make our move, King Kong will provide hacker support from the outside. He'll break into the villa's AI Butler, turn off the cameras, and block the automatic alarm. We only have 23 minutes."
"During these 23 minutes, you need to breach Gaofeng Technology's security, then head to sublevel 2, and plug this device into the offline server." Song6 took out something resembling a USB stick and waved it.
"After that, just wait 2 minutes, and you can pull out and leave. Mission complete."
Although Song6 spoke lightly, Sun Jack immediately spotted the problem, "Breach Gaofeng Technology's security? Since when is something like that as easy as eating breakfast to you?"
Why hire so many people for such a simple task? Couldn't he do it himself?
"Hey, bro~~" Song6 came over and put an arm around Sun Jack," I know what you two are capable of. If you could rescue me from that place, why worry about some small Gaofeng security robots?"
```
Looking at those armed robots in the 3D imaging, Sun Jack began to contemplate whether he really wanted to take on this job.
Although the job was well paid, the dangers were immense.
"Bro, I know you're new here and short on cash, that's why I came to you first with this good stuff. If you don't take this job, then what's the use of your combat prosthetic, right?"
"Besides, what else are we supposed to do? Or do you actually plan to become a corporate dog, licking their dress shoes?"
Upon hearing this, Sun Jack immediately recalled the harsh conditions from his previous job interviews.
And when he felt the intense pang of hunger in his stomach, he couldn't help but chuckle bitterly, thinking to himself: "The joke's on me, after all this contemplation, it seems I have no choice."
In this godforsaken place, there was simply no such thing as a normal job, and if he didn't want to starve to death, there was only one choice.
Looking at the others, Sun Jack's voice arose in the channel for the first time, "I'm in, but this is too dangerous."
"So what?" Si Ai leaned back slightly, resting against the stool.
"I want more money!"
Having decided to join, he naturally wanted to maximize his benefits. His future meals depended on it, so it was only natural to bargain.
"Why should you?" As soon as money was mentioned, Song 6 immediately lost his jovial demeanor and became very serious.
"Because you owe me 30 @ Coin for saving your life, don't tell me you forgot? How much do you stand to make from this deal? Isn't it time to pay up?"
Hearing this, a somewhat sheepish Song 6 could only chuckle weakly. Hooking Sun Jack's neck, the voice that came through the neural network was much quieter.
"Bro, next time just message me privately about this stuff, please don't say it in front of everyone. If I agree to give you more money, what will the others think?"
"Buddy, buddy, how about 7.4, okay? Please dear? I'll give you part of my share, but I can't give more than that; otherwise, I won't make any money myself. We'll settle the debt slowly, okay? If you push me too hard, I won't even have 0.0001 @ to my name, right?"
After another round of haggling with Song 6, the payment was finally settled at 9 @ Coin.
Seeing that Sun Jack had finally agreed, a secret joy filled Song 6. Although the information about these two wasn't worth much, he, the talented Song 6, could always find a way to make money off strangers.
He had witnessed the abilities of these two among space junk before; typically, 9 @ Coin couldn't hire such people, among which was a cyborg armed to the teeth.
He felt like he had hit the jackpot, but he knew he had earned even more.
After soothing Sun Jack, Song 6 called the robot bartender and ordered five beers. He grabbed one and raised it into the air.
"Since there are no objections, shall we seal this deal, for @?"
The four looked at each other and eventually, it was Sun Jack who first raised his glass,
Not to give face to Song 6 but because he was genuinely hungry, and couldn't resist the urge to use the beer to stave off his hunger.
Sun Jack's actions prompted the other four to raise their glasses too.
When the four beers clinked together at the table, it signified the start of this new mission.
