Unwelcome Guest XII
"The question is . . . Who should I send?" Jun wondered out loud.
"This kind of subterfuge based diplomacy is really not Silea's strong suit and Scathach . . . You probably could care less about such things right?" He continued speaking.
Everyone was still shocked at the his resolve to send a representative into the underworld despite already making it obvious that he knew the whoçle trip to be a vicious trap, but Grayfia had a bad feeling about the whole situation and it got worse and worse the more Jun talked.
His wives on the other hand, were curious. His words were correct but they were unsure where he was going with the whole conversation.
"That leaves me with Morgan then!" He clapped as if the finally discovering the obvious answer that somehow eluded him.
"You could use a break from your regular activities right my love?" He then inquired but got no answer.
And that was because this time, even his wives were dumbfounded while Grayfia felt her blood freeze in her veins at his seemingly logical choice. As for why they those reactions . . . Well, it was pretty obvious.
Sending Morgan as his representative was just Jun making sure things devolved into open hostilities which it seemed he was working to avoid until now, hence the shock of his wives.
As for Grayfia, she of course was worried since she too sensed Morgan was by far the most hostile of Jun's wives.
"Husband . . . I'm not too sure sure if I am . . . suitable, for such a role." Morgan said, a rare lack of confidence from the Fairy Queen.
Of course, the lack of confidence was in her self control not to slaughter the insolent bastards who would no doubt enrage her, especially since Jun was not there. His presence tended to help her keep control, even by just being there.
"Nonsense!" Jun exclaimed in response.
"You merely need to remember this very simple instruction and it will all be fine." He then added.
"Instruction?" Morgan inquired.
"I have no particular goal for you to achieve in this meeting. Hence, my only instruction, is to act however you think best without having to regard any intentions I may or may not have." Jun cheerfully explained.
If his wives were not sure about his intentions before they sure were now. It was clear Jun wished to send Morgan precisely because he knew it would not end well. For whoever was stupid enough to anger her that is.
"Please wait a moment Jun-sama! Can you reconsider your decision? We are willing to negotiate terms." Grayfia made an attempt to fix the situation, even taking a step back and offering more sincerity.
"I truly feel bad about trampling on your sincerity Grayfia-san. But your people have made the bed. Now they must lay in it." Jun responded sincerely.
"Besides, although Morgan is far less tolerant than me and her opinion of your higher ups is at an all time low, it is not like she will tear down all civility for no reason." He continued.
"Your husband wanted to set me up, pressure me or kill/capture me if I did not cave. so now, I'll send my most intolerant and powerful wife as my representative. If any devil dares to try anything from insults, pressuring, threatening and such it will be war."
"Let's see you your husband as the balls to go through with it." Jun finished with a smirk of satisfaction.
"Do you really want a war Jun-san?" Sona questioned with a complicated impression.
"Not at all." Jun shrugged.
"But that is merely because I stand to gain little from it. If you devils want to push me though, I'm game. My girls could use the light practice and besides, why should I be the one to give in when my side has the absolute advantage?" He added.
"You think you can face the entire Devil Race!?" Rias questioned with shock, worry and some anger.
"I don't think, I know. After all, it is not simply a matter of power, the Devil Race has critical disadvantages when compared to my group which would make a war quite easy to win." Jun replied.
"May I ask why you think so Jun-san?" Sona asked, on one hand, she wished to learn and on the other, maybe she could obtain useful information, Jun did not seem very worried about oversharing in regards to his thinking and plans for the current situation.
"Mhm, mhm!" Jun nodded.
"I very much appreciate people with a passion towards learning. It's not like those disadvantages can even be mitigated anyway so there is no harm in telling you." He continued.
"First of all, there is a big disparity when the information possessed by each side is compared."
"I know a lot about the Devil Race. Internal factions, organization, territory, who the bigwigs are, who the heavy hitters are and how powerful exactly they are, etc. Your side on the other hand, knows very little about me." Jun explained.
"We know plenty. Maybe you're just not aware." Rias argued. She liked to think she knew quite a bit about him.
Jun chuckled in response. He then said . . .
"You don't know the numbers of my forces, you don't know how powerful they are individually, despite knowing my personality quite well, you have no idea how powerful I actually am. You should have realized it isn't lower than Satan class but you don't know how high it can go."
"But even if I am that weak . . ." Jun casually referred to the regular Satan class prowess as "weak".
"A war with the Devil Race would end up much worse for your side than it would for mine. After all, there are still three critical weaknesses my group can explore to achieve a relatively easy victory."
