Underworld Negotiations XIX
Right on cue, Grayfia received a message from her husband to guide their guest in as the negotiations were about to take place.
"Lady Morgan, if you would come right this way." The silver haired maid bade the Fairy Queen.
Morgan rose from her seat while her escorts followed suit and silently, all three followed Grayfia into a corridor than led to the large room where the meeting was taking place at.
They entered while being observed by every Devil in the room and for those meeting them for the first time, their gazes were very obvious in the information they conveyed.
Lord and Lady Phenex's gazes held some hostility due to their children's capture but they understood the larger picture and truly appreciated the fact they had at least withheld punishment until proper negotiations could be held, even though the unknown state of Riser and Ravel worried them, especially their mother.
Lord Bael looked upon the trio not with hostility, not yet, but with the eyes of a predator, assessing his opponents for any chink in their amor, any flaw in their demeanour, any weakness that could be exploited for his faction's benefit.
The only ones showing very obvious hostility, were the Old Satan Faction who were already fixed in Morgan's mind as the least capable and most foolish on the table.
Their recent alliance, if it could even be called as such, granted them power that went straight to their head and made them act irrationally.
As for why their ties to the Khaos Brigade could not be referred to as an alliance, it was because all the power they had gained came from Ophis and she could just as easily take it all away, so if anything, they were just pawns to be used and discarded, even if they themselves seemed not to realize this truth.
They even held foolhardy ideals of conquering all the realms, just like their revered ancestors had wished for and died for. This however, would necessitate them turning of their allies which would see the power they had been granted swiftly taken away.
Even Jun could not see any sort of long term plan in their actions so he was forced to conclude they were simply that stupid.
Morgan though that a faction that held some power, enough to sit at the current table, had to be at least somewhat competent and was thus suspicious of her husband's assessment but so far, the Old Satan Faction seemed intent on proving Jun right.
As for their hostility, it was very easy to explain. Jun's group was a party led by a human, which they wrongly thought Jun to be and how could such an inferior being dare to defy the will of the Devils, a species far superior in every way, at least in their minds.
When they entered and moved to their assigned seats, Grayfia did introduce them but before she could do so with the way she planned, Morgan magically told her their full names and asked them to introduce them accordingly.
Hearing the full names however, Grayfia showed some shock, though she did her best to hide it. They were very famous names after all, belonging to some of the greatest heroes of human history, with the Pendragon name still existing as one of the most powerful human centric forces.
"Please greet our guests from afar, the wife of Lord Jun Haikami, the Fae Queen, Morgan Le Fay and her two escorts, Artoria Pendragon and Jeanne D'Arc." The silver haired maid tried to announce as calmly and normally as possible.
Morgan had already discussed it with Artoria and Jeanne so they were ready for it and not surprised by everyone else, including Sirzechs and Ajuka certainly were. Even if they were not a part of any contemporary faction, they were names that carried a heavy weight had they any foundation.
Completely undisturbed by the surrounding shock, Morgan took her seat while Artoria and Jean stood behind her, not taking theirs due to their roles as escorts.
They had to always be ready for combat to start since that was the true reason they were there, only Morgan had an additional diplomatic role.
"It is a pleasure to meet you lady Morgan, Jun Haikami has been on our radar for a while now but who knew such distinguished beauties laid hidden by his side." Lord Bael was the first to recover and gave a very well crafted greeting.
"I would say the feeling is mutual but I'm not very fond of deceit these days, despite the various tales associated with my good name." Morgan smoothly replied. Wasting no time in antagonizing their main targets.
Lord Bael was not such an easy nut to crack, even if his father was the true mastermind and not him. His current attitude was already enough to shock those present since he was usually more prideful and could not stand being insulted or upstaged in any way.
Despite this, they knew the reason all too well as the only motive for him to act differently to such a degree, would be the will of his father, Zekram Bael. Before the true master of the Great King Faction and the Bael Clan, he was but a meek kitten who did as commanded.
In fact, unbeknownst to everyone present, even Morgan who had yet to sniff it out, even though the one speaking was the current Lord Bael, his words were literally his father's.
As in Zekram was attending through his son's body using some secret method, allowing him to directly control things so long as his son willingly ceded control.
And so, with supreme calmness, he continued.
"Speaking of your illustrious name, what is the connection to the first bearing it I wonder?"
