Chapter 510: The Purple Clay Teapot
Han Qiwu came home with a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't suppress it.
He was immersed in this unprecedented experience.
He felt intoxicated.
After enjoying the moment, Han Qiwu walked over to the storage box to take stock of the items he currently owned.
Looking through them, a thought suddenly crossed his mind: "Oh right, many of the things Mr. Tang gifted me are probably from his father-in-law, aren't they? Maybe I should bring something for his father-in-law the next time I go up?"
The more he thought about it, the more it made sense.
No rush on the mother-in-law's side for now.
Isn't there a saying that mothers-in-law love their sons-in-law?
Later, he could bring up some good ingredients.
While chatting with Mr. Tang earlier, he had subtly inquired about some information.
Her father liked drinking tea, especially red tea.
Since that was the case, why not make two purple clay teapots? One for his own father, and one for Mr. Tang's father.
Once the plan was set, he got right to it!
Han Qiwu picked up some purple clay and headed straight for the blacksmith's shop.
Of course, he couldn't make them himself.
He needed to find external help.
Upon reaching the entrance of the blacksmith's shop, Han Qiwu walked in with a cheerful grin, lined up four crystal spheres on the counter, and announced, "Master, what are you busy with?"
"Cut the nonsense. Spill it. What do you want made this time?" Master Shuzi waved his hand knowingly, as if he'd seen through him completely.
"I'd like to learn how to make two purple clay teapots. I just got some purple clay today." Han Qiwu pulled out the purple clay as he spoke.
The purple clay he got from the peddler was substantial—around thirty to forty pounds. It was more than enough to make two teapots. The clay had a moist, sticky texture, somewhat resembling dough.
"Purple clay teapots, huh? Are you planning to use them for red tea or green tea?" Master Shuzi asked, pinching the clay as he spoke.
Curious, Han Qiwu asked, "I thought purple clay teapots were good for any tea? What's the difference between using one for red tea versus green tea?"
"For red tea, go with a Xishi pot or a Rongtian pot. These pots are characterized by their wide bodies, deep chambers, and plump, rounded shapes, which enhance the aroma of red tea. For green tea, though, a wide-mouth purple clay pot is better since green tea requires quick heat dissipation to preserve its aroma. Of course, for green tea, a glass cup will suffice," Master Shuzi explained while waving his hand.
After listening, Han Qiwu nodded. "Alright, let's do as you suggest—one Xishi pot and one wide-mouth purple clay pot."
After giving his request, he suddenly found it a bit humorous. Hearing Master Shuzi say the word "Xishi" felt a little odd.
Wait a second.
Master Shuzi and Xishi were both from the Spring and Autumn Period. Maybe he had actually heard of her.
How interesting.
After hearing Han Qiwu's request, Master Shuzi squeezed the purple clay again and said, "This piece of purple clay is large enough. After making the teapots, there will be plenty left for two sets of cups. I'll handle the teapots; you can make the cups yourself. Come on."
Han Qiwu quickly agreed and followed Master Shuzi into the forging room.
Good thing Master Shuzi had reminded him.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have thought about making cups.
After about an hour, Han Qiwu was satisfied as he admired the two sets of purple clay teapot sets in front of him. The set on the left was a purple-brown Xishi pot, refined and exquisite in design, while the set on the right featured a pure-purple, wide-mouth purple clay pot with a simple and elegant appearance. Both sets came with four small cups each.
[Xishi Pot Set]
[Crafted By: Master Shuzi, Han Qiwu]
[Special Effect – Temperature Adjustment: The Xishi pot automatically cools water to the optimal temperature for brewing tea.]
[Special Effect – Aroma Storage: The Xishi pot absorbs the tea aroma released during brewing, enhancing its own fragrance over time.]
[Note: Do not scrub off the tea stains at all costs.]
The attributes of the wide-mouth purple clay pot were similar to those of the Xishi Pot Set.
With these purple clay teapot sets, even a tea novice could effortlessly brew the perfect cup of tea.
So delightful.
These would make such great gifts.
After packing up the two teapot sets, Han Qiwu thanked Master Shuzi and left the blacksmith shop, heading back home.
As night fell, Little Prince and Little Shui also returned early.
[Hunting Pet: Little Prince has returned from foraging, increasing Satiety by 98]
[Foraging Gains: Wood ×51, Wild Chili Peppers ×10, White Cogongrass Root ×5]
[A well-fed Little Prince is in a great mood]
[Fishing Pet: Little Shui has returned from fishing, increasing Satiety by 92]
[Fishing Gains: A net full of fish and water plants]
[A satisfied Little Shui is in good spirits]
Glancing at their gains, Han Qiwu beckoned Little Prince and Little Shui over.
Noticing the call, Little Shui toddled over on its stubby legs, climbing up Han Qiwu's pant leg and burrowing into his arms. It tilted its head up and nuzzled his chin.
Han Qiwu chuckled and gently stroked Little Shui's back.
Trailing behind, Little Prince stood there awkwardly with a piece of kudzu root it had somehow hidden in its hand.
"I'm going on a trip for two days starting tomorrow. Don't go out foraging then. Just rest at home; there's plenty to eat and drink here," Han Qiwu addressed Little Prince specifically. "Make sure to keep an eye on Little Electric, and don't let it cause any trouble."
"Roar!"
Little Prince always gave an eager response, while Little Shui looked slightly reluctant, blinking its large watery eyes as if to say, "Can't you take me along too?"
Han Qiwu comforted Little Shui, saying, "It's still too early for that. Next time I go on a trip, I'll bring you along. Be good and stay home this time. I'll bring back something tasty for you."
"Ying-ying-ying."
Little Shui reluctantly nodded, lying on Han Qiwu's shoulder and swaying gently.
Han Qiwu strolled around the yard with Little Shui in his arms.
Fortunately, there would be light rain tomorrow, so there was no need to worry about watering. He could also harvest the trees from the Miniature Forest tomorrow morning before departure, ensuring no waste. Later, he would prepare the items he planned to take home.
After some time, Little Shui dozed off. Han Qiwu carefully squatted down and placed Little Shui into its nest, then moved to the storage box to organize his inventory.
Fruits, sage, premium rice, potatoes, a variety of seafood—he packed a little of everything, ensuring not to overdo it and arouse his mother's suspicion.
Once done, he packed a share for Mr. Tang as well, including two small gifts for her.
"I wonder if I'll be able to sleep at home tomorrow night. If not, I can always use the scroll to return and sleep here."
After packing, he went into the Miniature Forest to harvest today's wood, then crafted two more canned jars for storage in the cellar.
The Canned Jar Army was still far from complete—it required continuous effort!
Time to sleep. Tomorrow, it's time to head home.
