Farming Games are All About Grinding

Chapter 432: The Little Lamb Arrives Home

After returning to the yard, Han Qiwu picked some mulberries and strawberries first, stored them in the inventory, and then collected leaves from the initial batch of mulberry trees.

The mulberry trees that were planted later grew quickly. In just a day or two, the most vigorous ones already sprouted dozens of tender leaves, which seemed ready to take on the task of feeding the silkworms soon.

Entering the silkworm room, Han Qiwu noticed that the ant-like silkworms inside were gradually turning lighter in color and had grown much longer in size. They were wandering around, impatiently awaiting the arrival of mulberry leaves.

"In a few more days, they should turn into those cute, white silkworm babies," Han Qiwu nodded in satisfaction and tossed the mulberry leaves he was holding onto them.

After finishing up with the silkworm room, he headed over to the rose bushes to collect today's rose petals. The yield was low, so he had to pick them daily to accumulate enough for making rose jam.

As for the petals of the Blue Enigma roses, which could be used to make perfume, Han Qiwu currently didn't have any ideas. The last time he visited, he forgot to ask Sister Jin Tu. He decided to check in on it next time.

"Buzz, buzz, buzz."

The tiny black bees were circling the flowers around the house, diligently collecting honey.

After handling these tasks, Han Qiwu wiped his sweat and took a break inside the house to drink water while watching TV for a bit:

[Weather Forecast]

Tomorrow will be cloudy.

[Life Tips]

Try to meet more people!

[Almanac]

Good for reading, bad for long journeys.

[Shennong Recipes]

Shennong is offline.

After watching the TV, Han Qiwu slapped it with his hand.

"Why did you even make my dearest, most generous Grandpa Shennong go offline?"

"And now the life tips are telling me to meet more people?!"

"Where am I supposed to find someone as amazing as Grandpa Shennong?!"

"Useless TV!"

[TV is damaged, estimated recovery time: 1 day]

Han Qiwu: "......"

"Look at you, getting upset after just a few words."

"Fine, let me clean the dust off you, will that cheer you up?"

After wiping the dust off the TV, Han Qiwu covered it with a clean cloth.

"This little TV sure has a big temper."

"Fine, I surrender!"

Leaving the house, Han Qiwu got on his bike and headed toward the breeding farm.

He planned to buy the sheep as early as possible.

Even though he only had thirty thousand gold, the sheep pen had space for four animals, so filling it up wouldn't be an issue.

After riding for ten minutes or so, Han Qiwu suddenly felt the speed of his electric scooter drop, no matter how hard he tried to accelerate.

Glancing at the battery level.

It was empty.

Oh no, he'd forgotten to charge it last night.

Resigned, Han Qiwu got off the bike and started pushing it home.

"So this is what the almanac meant by bad for long journeys?"

"I've only been out for ten minutes!"

"Should I get a gas-powered motorcycle or something? There's a gas station in town, which would be more convenient than relying on batteries," Han Qiwu muttered to himself while pushing the bike back, considering the idea. He had a license already, so buying one would be straightforward.

After thinking it over, he decided to consider it later when he returned to campus for his report.

Back at home, he recharged the electric scooter and switched to "Route 11" – running on foot – as he headed toward the breeding farm at full speed.

In just a few kilometers, he arrived without much effort. Surprisingly, Han Qiwu even felt energized and didn't find it exhausting.

Before stepping inside, Han Qiwu heard Xiao Shu pleading from within: "Good Dad! Please let me go outside to do my homework! I'm way too slow doing it at home!"

Yang Yangyang showed no sign of budging. "Do you still want to see your Brother Han? Don't think I don't know whose house you're heading to for homework! Brothers or women—you pick one!"

Han Qiwu: "......"

"Brother Yang, that was way too blunt."

Xiao Shu hesitated for a moment after hearing this, then raised his head and asked seriously, "Can I take Brother Han with me to do my homework instead?"

"It's better you go alone. Your brother doesn't need to do homework anymore," Han Qiwu said, smiling as he pushed open the door and walked inside.

"This kid has potential—he's already grasped the mindset of an adult early on."

"You're here, Xiao Han? Hang on a moment, let me give him a beating first and then we'll talk," Yang Yangyang said with a grin, picking up a slipper.

"Brother, save me!!!" Xiao Shu immediately jumped to Han Qiwu's side at the sight, shouting, "I won't go! I won't go! I'll do my homework at home!"

Han Qiwu laughed as he stopped Yang Yangyang, took out the mulberries and strawberries he'd brought earlier, soothed Xiao Shu for a while, then sent him off to do his homework.

"This kid is too clever for his own good, makes him harder to manage," Yang Yangyang sighed.

"Let nature take its course—maybe someday he'll help you have grandkids early," Han Qiwu teased while flipping through the catalog:

The variety of sheep was much smaller compared to the others. Mountain goat, sheep, and desert goat—each had straightforward uses: meat, wool, and milk.

"Mountain goats are probably the best climbers. Let's just go with two mountain goats, one desert goat, and one sheep. I'll expand later if needed," Han Qiwu quickly made his choice, spending 28,000 gold to purchase them.

After making the purchase, he chatted with Yang Yangyang about the deal and paid the bill before following Yang Yangyang to the sheep pen.

"Sheep can be tricky to raise. You've got to keep them moving, or they won't fatten up. They're always restless and need something to do," Yang Yangyang kindly explained to Han Qiwu.

Han Qiwu waved dismissively, reassuring him it wouldn't be a problem.

"Even if the rocks aren't challenging enough for them, there are plenty of sparring partners at home."

Young mountain goats had minimal beard growth, which made them look adorable. With their lively little hooves bouncing around, they were full of energy.

Sheep and desert goats, on the other hand, were much quieter. Their wool was longer, and both were completely white. The wool of the sheep, in particular, was soft to the touch.

Leading the four lambs, Han Qiwu casually left the breeding farm.

Since there were villagers along the path, he decided to lead them all the way home.

Come to think of it, this was his first time herding sheep.

The four young sheep were also making their first outdoor appearance. Seeing the surroundings, they became excited and kept trying to lead Han Qiwu toward the farmland nearby. Fortunately, Han Qiwu had a strong grip and managed to keep them under control.

Villagers passing by greeted Han Qiwu warmly and chatted briefly, occasionally commenting, "Those are some nice sheep, just in time for the end of the year."

At times like these, Han Qiwu would grip the rope tightly, worried the lambs might charge ahead and butt someone.

After much effort, Han Qiwu finally returned home, drenched in sweat.

"Finally back! Go mess around in your own spot now!"
