Fantasy Family Simulator (FFS)

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: A Simple Analysis of the Simulator

What? Another simulation that didn't end with a full year, and I still ended up dead?

Rhett was both surprised and amused, leaning back in his chair.

The cause of his death in this simulation was clear—he was no match for the third-tier Thunder Armor Bear.

However, he realized that the simulator hadn't accounted for the relics he could retrieve from Thorn Forest, particularly the legacy left by the Grand Magus.

With his current talent, combined with the Moonlight Potions, there was a good chance he could break through to a third-tier magician next year.

As a third-tier magician, his odds against the Thunder Armor Bear would increase dramatically, reducing the likelihood of defeat.

A thoughtful expression crossed Rhett's face. It seemed that the simulator's [Text Simulation] wasn't perfect after all.

After all, human thoughts and decisions can change, and even he couldn't guarantee that he would follow the simulator's predicted path.

The future could still be altered.

Every deviation from the previous simulation could lead to different outcomes in the future.

Overall, the simulator remained highly reliable, providing accurate predictions of events related to him, his family, and his territory.

With these insights, he could plan ahead and prepare for the challenges that lay ahead.

Thinking about the crisis next year, Rhett stood up, removed the napkin from his chest, and said, "I'm finished."

Then, he left Deep Rock Fortress.

The snow outside was thick, but the estate had already cleared wide paths.

After three days of heavy snowfall, today, the flakes had turned into fine grains of salt.

On the path leading west from the territory, occasional animal tracks could be seen, along with a few scattered plants standing in the snow.

This plain was not particularly rich, and two hundred years ago, it had even been orc territory.

At that time, it was just a border zone, defended by weak tribes.

Later, a medium-scale war broke out, dominated by combatants from the fourth to sixth tiers, and it was the Kingdom of Jinlun that emerged victorious.

The kingdom pushed westward by two thousand kilometers in one decisive campaign.

However, the main force eventually encountered a vast canyon stretching for hundreds of kilometers, where the orcs had fortified their positions. This halted the kingdom's advance.

The resulting canyon line became a permanent front, with Rhett's military service being part of that defense.

In truth, while orcs were the kingdom's main enemy, they had conflicts with other kingdoms as well.

Throughout history, battles between humans and orcs had seen both victories and defeats.

The Kingdom of Jinlun was no exception. While they had pushed to the canyon line in this region, other battlefronts remained active against the orcs.

There had even been instances where other regions had fallen, more than once or twice.

Similarly, there were multiple defensive lines, with the canyon line being considered a lower-tier battlefield, where large-scale conflicts were rare.

This was because, for the orcs, the canyon line wasn't of great importance, lacking valuable resources and therefore receiving little attention.

Having fought on the battlefield, Rhett understood this well.

...

Before long, Rhett arrived alone at the Wind Wolf's den.

At that moment, the Wind Wolf was nestled in the straw, unaware of the danger that was about to descend.

As a second-tier magician, Rhett naturally had ways to prevent the Wind Wolf from sensing his presence.

Earth Spike!

Rhett silently recited the incantation, and within moments, spear-like spikes erupted from the ground, piercing the Wind Wolf's abdomen.

The wolf let out a pained howl that echoed through the cave.

Having spent over a decade killing orcs on the battlefield, Rhett's resolve had been hardened, and he remained unaffected by the scene.

Returning to the familiar location, Rhett retrieved everything the fifth-tier Grand Magus had left behind: a broken magic staff, two Moonlight Potions, a bottle of Spirit Rock Lizard bloodline potion, an unknown high-tier water-element essence, half a bottle of Black Raven's Bane, and the ancient book.

This time, he finally had the chance to examine the book closely.

Sitting cross-legged on the spot, Rhett carefully flipped through the thick tome. It was filled with dense writing and occasionally illustrated with diagrams—maps, meditation techniques, and the like.

A smile spread across Rhett's face. As he had suspected, this was indeed a meditation technique, and it was far superior to the one he currently practiced.

The meditation technique he used was a lower-tier one, without even a name.

But this one was different—not only was it a mid-tier technique, but it also had a name: Furnace Meditation.

The technique drew inspiration from a blacksmith's forge, using the furnace's properties to extract and refine materials.

Though the concept was metaphorical, the technique was undoubtedly more complex than it seemed.

It took Rhett two hours to gain a basic understanding of the Furnace Meditation.

When he closed his eyes and meditated, he could feel his spiritual power growing at a rate three times faster than before!

"This meditation technique can also be passed on to Riley. He's a water-element magician, and with this, he could reach the late stage of the first-tier in no time," Rhett thought with a satisfied smile.

Having grasped the benefits of the Furnace Meditation, Rhett ended his meditation session, knowing he had one more important task to complete.

He stepped outside the cave.

Focusing his mind, Rhett attuned himself to the earth elements in the air, sensing the mysterious trajectories they followed. He began channeling his spiritual power, deliberately guiding the elements along specific paths and routes.

This was the spell he had inherited after absorbing the bloodline potion.

A few seconds later, a glowing earthen spike materialized in the air and shot down at incredible speed, piercing the ground and burying itself deep in the soil.

Seeing the result, Rhett's eyes lit up. He recognized this spell—Earth Spike.

Earth Spike was a fourth-tier spell, known for its extreme hardness and sharpness, capable of easily piercing a fourth-tier knight.

Typically, earth magicians had to reach the appropriate level and meet the spiritual power requirements before they could learn and master such a spell.

But through his bloodline inheritance, Rhett could wield this spell as a second-tier magician.

Though the spell's power didn't quite match the standard fourth-tier version, it was still far more potent than ordinary second-tier spells, thanks to its advanced structure.

Not only did it have strong piercing power, but it also struck with remarkable speed, catching enemies off guard!

Rhett also sensed that, with practice, he could cast the spell from any angle, making it even more versatile.

"Not bad, mastering a fourth-tier earth spell ahead of time, especially one that's notoriously difficult for earth magicians to learn," Rhett remarked with a smile.
