Chapter 1363: [1363] Was designated
"Wasn't Teacher Lu asking her to go to Guo Zhi Hospital to help with surgery? I'm not changing the subject."
The conversation between the two senior brothers felt like it was between completely different species, like chickens talking to ducks, as if electricity and thunder were about to clash in a spark. The three students dining were listening, their hearts pounding.
"Are you talking about Teacher Lu?" Doctor Dong approached, adding a comment.
"Yes, didn't you know? You, as a cardiologist, should be aware. Is he hiding it from you as well?" Yu Xuexian questioned him.
Doctor Dong admitted, "I definitely don't know. How could Teacher Lu let me be involved with such an important patient?"
"Does he know?" Yu Xuexian glanced towards Li Chengyuan passing by, bringing both cardiology and cardiac surgery into the equation.
Li Chengyuan seemed to not hear and continued to walk forward by himself.
"Oh, he knows." Yu Xuexian noticed his evasive behavior and said.
"No, I don't know." Li Chengyuan turned back to clarify upon hearing this, "I'm like Doctor Dong; it's impossible for me to know."
"What do the people at Guo Zhi Hospital say about Teacher Lu's condition? What did they ask you to go and inquire about?" Yu Xuexian turned back, demanding Jin Tianyu to answer the question immediately.
Jin Tianyu seemed oblivious to his manner, turned and walked away.
"Where are you going?" Yu Xuexian chased after him.
The door of the doctor's office suddenly swung open.
The hearts of the three dining students skipped a beat: it's over, there's no escaping.
Yingying. The two male students worried for her.
"Xie Wanying, come to the intervention room after you finish eating." Jin Tianyu stood at the doctor's office door, his gaze fixed on Student Xie, who was eating with her head down, and said.
"What are you asking her to do?" Yu Xuexian tugged at his clothes, his face turning pale.
"Like your patient today, the patients and their families trust her more. Shouldn't she get informed in advance to avoid being unprepared later?" Jin Tianyu explained, "She hasn't witnessed an intervention surgery in cardiology, and that's not acceptable."
Originally, the idea was that such a student would at least intern in cardiology, the top department, but unexpectedly the hospital assigned her to respiratory medicine. Jin Tianyu's brow furrowed with strong discontent, believing the hospital's arrangement was unreasonable. Unless the hospital had other plans for her future studies.
Yu Xuexian argued with him: "She's currently studying with me."
"Don't be narrow-minded. The people in respiratory medicine don't mind her following you; your behavior is petty compared to them." Jin Tianyu turned back, about to point a finger at his chest.
Senior Jin has a worse temper compared to Senior Yu. This fact is known from the introductions given by students who have interned in cardiology. Xie Wanying immediately recalled what Li Qi'an had described about the senior brother, thinking that it might indeed turn out to be a quarrel as Student Pan anticipated.
Yu Xuexian almost exploded hearing the other's words.
But this is a public place; a real argument might make the patients doubtful.
Jin Tianyu turned his face away, ignoring him, arrogantly like a big rooster, his eyes fixated solely on Student Xie eating, as if wielding a severe teaching whip: Eat faster! Didn't you hear what I said?
Eating this meal was an exhilarating sweat-inducing experience. Usually, the slow-eating Xie Wanying could only wolf it down. There was no delay allowed for a patient with acute myocardial infarction needing intervention surgery.
Senior Jin showed no mercy, even being harsh to female students. Others could only feel that Student Xie seemed to be in for trouble.
Yue Wentong remembered his promise to cover, and said to Senior Jin: "Maybe you should go ahead, Teacher. I'll bring her over later; it won't hold up Teacher's time."
