FAMILY ABOVE ALL: BATTLING AGAINST GODS

CHAPTER 14: CLASS II

"I would like to ask why a newly awakened core is black from the start."

Upon hearing that question, the people present couldn't help but gaze at the boy with odd expressions.

Looking at the recently awakened student, Miller, who joined them in the previous lesson, Ari was at first taken back but she soon regained her composure.

"It is first black because of the impurities contained within it."

"Oh, I see."

"Okay then, let us continue. Moving on to cultivation, recently..."

"I am sorry but I am not done yet."

"Oh? Do you still have other questions to ask?"

"Yes, I have thirty-seven more questions to ask."

"Thir-thirty seven?"

Upon hearing the number of questions still left to answer, Ari almost fainted from surprise. Even the other students couldn't help but suck in a long breath of air.

"Yes, is that a problem? I mean we could ignore the other questions."

Ari was immediately glad about hearing what the boy himself just said. She was about to give her consent when...

"However, you told us to ask whatever questions we have. If you should go against what you said, doesn't that mean that teacher is the type that doesn't keep her word?"

The young child voiced out with innocent eyes that seemed to convey that he wouldn't believe the teacher was such a person.

'Keep my word? Indeed, she did say so, but you are not asking three questions, hell you are not even asking seven, but thirty-seven. Wait, how did you even come up with thirty-seven questions?' Ari wanted to cry, but the tears refused to shed.

'Just where did they pick this boy from?' she grumbled in her mind.

"Are you such a person, teacher?" the boy voiced out once more.

'Are you your head!?' Ari cursed in her mind.

With an ugly smile on her beautiful face, Ari managed to squeeze out the words:

"Go on."

"Teacher really is the best." The boy chuckled lightly.

Ari didn't know why but those words sounded grating to her ears.

"Why does the intermediate stage only have one realm?"

"Why are you asking such stupid questions?" A little girl could not help but blurt out before Ari could answer.

"Excuse me? Since my question is stupid, why don't you answer it?"

The girl was left speechless, is there even an answer to such a question, but refusing to be on the losing end she still argued back.

"Why would I answer such a stupid question?"

"Haha. Just say you don't know it. The intermediate stage only has one realm because it deals with just dividing the mana core into twelve parts."

Hearing his reply, the small girl was taken aback. Still, she could not help but agree with his reasoning.

"Little girl, when I was flirting with your mother, you were still in her womb. When your daddy is talking, a child like you should keep her mouth shut."

The girl's face turned red from anger. She felt her head swell and was about to explode, but Ari's words stopped her from reacting.

"Silence!"

"Since you know the answer, why are you asking?" Ari asked, her brows tightly furrowed.

"Eh?" realizing he just made a blunder, the young boy coughed lightly before replying:

"I just wanted to confirm it from you."

Not giving her any time to respond, he threw out his next question.

"So if a person's core is colored red in three parts, he becomes a third-level red mage?"

"Yes."

"What if it is colored red in eleven parts?"

"Eleventh-level red mage."

"Doesn't that sound stupid?"

"Is that your fourth question?"

"Eh?...no."

"Good."

…..

"So if it is colored yellow in all twelve parts, what is the mage called?"

"Twelfth-level yellow mage."

"Pfft," a burst of muffled laughter rang out.

Even though the laughter was suppressed, it still sounded loud in the hall.

Why?

It was because the hall had been in an awkward silence from the third question, as the boy had just been asking about the same type of question; the colored parts of the mana core and what the mages are called.

Yet, the surprising thing was that the teacher kept answering.

The other student couldn't help but put on an odd expression at the awkwardness of the whole thing.

….

What the students didn't know was that Ari was already at her limit. Her forehead was already filled with black lines. She had lost count of the number of times she almost wanted to send the boy a slap to death, yet she controlled herself at all times, making use of her well-groomed will to suppress her anger.

This boy reminded her of a particular person in the past.

He was so similar to her master, Arthur.

….

After she answered once again, she didn't hear the voice that was beginning to sound like the whisper of the devil.

She looked intently at the boy as she voiced out:

"What about your twenty-sixth question?"

The boy raised his hand as he gestured for her to wait while answering:

"Oh! I am coming. I am still thinking about it."

Huh?

Ari along with everyone else was stunned.

You are coming?

So we should wait for you to come up with a question?

Ari finally lost herself as she roared at the top of her lungs:

"GET OUT!"

"Huh?"

Miller was shocked at the sudden change, but before he could even react properly, Ari roared out once more:

"I SAID, GET OUT!"

He quickly scrambled out of his seat from fear as he made his way to the door.

'Just where did the hell did this boy come from? Is he my life nemesis or what?' Ari's face had already turned purple at this point.

Shifting her attention back to the ones remaining in the hall, she could not help but feel that she wasn't looking at children but at little beasts.

"All of you, get out!"

"Huh?"

"But teacher we didn't do anything…"

"Didn't you hear what I said?"

Looking at the once beautiful Ari that now looked like a deranged beast, the others couldn't help but grow afraid. So they quickly made their way out.

All but one student.

A very beautiful young girl remained seated.

Ari was just about to speak once more when the girl beat her to it.

"Teacher, I just broke through into the mid-level beginner realm. I would like to challenge Arlo to a duel."
