Chapter 60. Mr. Nian Said that You Don't Like Sweet Food
She wasn’t familiar with the army, but she felt awestruck when mentioning special force soldiers every time. No wonder Nian Junting had some small scars on his body.
She turned her head to glance at the nicely shaped side face of Nian Junting, who was sitting in the couch, then said with a low voice, “Everyone has a different destiny. Mr. Nian is living a good life now.”
“He is now,” said Nian Xi, “But back then, in order to join the army, he didn’t even go to college. After retirement, he was so confused about his future. He needed to start over. Many people were waiting for him to fail, but fortunately, he got through it. Later on, he was accepted by a university abroad and restarted his study. Sometimes, I do admire him. I wouldn’t be able to do that if I was him. A twenty-one-year-old-man returning to school as a freshman, imagine how much courage does that require.”
Luosang suddenly thought of herself. She was twenty-two now, and she needed to go back to school to continue her study from the third year, so she could get her diploma. People might laugh at her, and she would bear a much greater pressure than ordinary students.
She felt anxious these days when thinking about that, but now, Nian Junting’s story had suddenly given her some extra courage.
Nian Junting started over and achieved his today’s success on his own, so she believed that she should learn from him.
While thinking, she even forgot to turn her eyes away from Nian Junting until he suddenly turned around, looked her in the eyes. After making the eye-contact with him, she hurriedly turned away and lowered her head to continue making sweet dumplings.
Murong Cheng arrived at five o’clock at night, with two delicate paper bags.
Luosang served her with a cup of tea, and saw her taking out a box of chocolate from one paper bag and handing it to Nian Xi. “Your grandma and I traveled abroad to celebrate New Year this time. We got you a few boxes of chocolate when we were in Belgium. I know it’s your favorite,” she said.
“Thank you, Mom,” Nian Xi gave Murong Cheng a peck on her cheek, then happily unwrapped a box of chocolate, dragged Luosang over and said, “Sister Luosang, let’s share.”
Luosang paused, then asked, “Do you like chocolate?”
“Yeah, which girl doesn’t?” Nian Xi nodded.
“But Mr. Nian said you don’t like… sweet food…” Luosang turned to Nian Junting without finishing her sentence.
Nian Junting blinked. He too froze shortly, but soon afterward, he calmly raised his head to glance at his sister, then said lazily, “Do you like sweet food? I think I forgot that.”
Nian Xi was hurt deeply. “Are you serious? You’re my brother, but you forgot that I love sweet treats the most! You must have got me mixed up with someone else! Tell me, who’s she?”
“Yeah, who’s she?” Murong Cheng looked at her son with interest and asked.
Nian Junting ignored his mother but only responded Nian Xi with, “You’re my sister indeed, but you have a very low presence in my heart. So you can’t blame me for that. Blame yourself.”
After saying that, he walked away to play with Xiaosi with his hands in his pockets.
“Ugh, I’m so mad,” Nian Xi pulled a face toward his back and said, “Some brothers treat their little sisters like princesses, but I’m nothing to him. I hope my future sister-in-law will be nice to me.”
Luosang nodded as she shared the same feeling as Nian Xi. It was indeed unlucky for Nian Xi to be Nian Junting’s sister.
However, did he really not remember that his sister loved sweet treats?
At dinner time, when Luosang walked out of the kitchen with a large bowl of sweet dumplings, Nian Junting blocked her way. The shadow of his tall and strong figure darkened the path before her, gave her a strong pressure.
She raised her head to find that Nian Junting was staring at her. “Do you have any question for me?” He asked.
“About what?” Luosang was confused.
“About Nian Xi loves sweet treats,” Nian Junting raised his brows and said.
