Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong

Chapter 27: Aftermath and undercurrents...

Seeing the shocking sight of the Cyclops being killed in a single attack and the creation of that underground tunnel in one go, all the students were so shocked that they had no words to speak.

Only after a few seconds did everyone come to their senses and instantly all of them started to scream in excitement.

"Godd*mn!! What was that!?"

"Sh*t! Should have recorded that! I missed the chance!"

"Such a massive attack! Is this something humans can do!?"

All the students were excited at the moment but a look of determination appeared on Mark's face as he stared at the massive spectacle that Jareth had created.

'S-such insane instantaneous firepower…'

Even though Mark himself is a great genius, he doesn't have the confidence that he would be able to reach such a mastery of magic in just a few years.

'It might take at least five years to reach that level…'

Mark was not actually bluffing, he has the greatest talent in this world, obviously, and he has the confidence to reach Jareth's current level in five or six years.

'But such insane mana control… that's difficult for me too…'

After seeing that Jareth used a low-level spell and still caused this much destruction, Mark came to the logical conclusion that Jareth is extremely good at mana control.

'Perhaps… in terms of Mana control… no one is his match…'

Although Mark has never witnessed a Grade-1 magician in a real battle, he guessed that Jareth's mana control was indeed very high.

This is the most logical way to describe the reason why Jareth could enhance even a weak spell to this level, but he didn't know that Jareth wasn't even a grade-2 magician at all.

All of this was just a mere bluff! Created by the façade of the enhancement card.

If not for that enhancement Card, there's no way that the current Jareth could fire off such insane spells.

Just when the students were causing a ruckus, Jareth suddenly tilted his head towards them and said in a cold and arrogant voice.

"What are you causing the ruckus for? Didn't you all come here to fight monsters and gather actual combat experience?"

"Go and find some monsters to fight; don't waste your time standing here with those idiotic looks on your faces…."

Being scolded by Jareth, all of the students didn't dare to stay there anymore and reluctantly left the area.

They wanted to congratulate the professors for the win, but Jareth's overwhelming glare made them retreat.

[Basic Magic: Float!]

Jareth Cast the basic float magic on Allen and Airin and sent them back to the first floor too.

"You two have more talent than the other children… don't waste it by standing here with that dumb look… go and learn…"

'Ugh, I wanted to use kinder words to make the children leave, but this d*mn mouth of mine never agrees with me… tch!'

Once all the students had left, Shin didn't put up the tough face anymore and directly slumped down on the ground like a dead log.

He didn't even bother with cleaning the ground of dust and directly lay flat.

"Ugh… finally I can lay down…"

Shin had a reputation as a Grade-2 mage, he didn't dare rest in front of the students; otherwise, he would have appeared weak.

But now that they were gone, he didn't care so much.

A frown appeared on Jareth's face as he saw Shin dirtying his clothes like that.

"Tch! The heir of the Isaz household doesn't even know basic hygiene…"

Blood veins appeared over Shin's face as Jareth's words instantly angered him.

"Oh, excuse me! I am a genuine noble, you know! It's just I am out of mana right now!"

"Hmph, it's your own carelessness that you ended up exhausting your mana, even low-level mages know that they should carry mana potions with them, if you had taken precautions, this wouldn't have happened…"

While saying that, Jareth walked over to a nearby boulder and cast:

[Basic Magic: Clean!]

Only after cleaning the boulder did Jareth sit on it.

"Even though you used such strong magic…Do you still have mana to be casting spells so casually? Just how big are your mana reserves…"

A confused look appeared on Shin's face as he questioned Jareth's mana capacity.

"Well, I did deplete a lot of mana after using that spell…"

"Like… how much?"

"Hmm, around two percent, I guess…."

Shin's eyes widened in sheer shock at Jareth's answer.

"F*cking bullsh*t! You are a walking mana container!!"

Actually, Jareth wasn't wrong when he said he used only two percent mana, it's just that he used the amount of mana that was needed to cast that weak spell, the rest was all done by the enhancement card and grimoire.

So from Jareth's perspective, he didn't even use five percent of his total mana to use that spell.

But Shin misunderstood Jareth's statement in a different way.

He now believes that Jareth's mana reserve so freaking big that it doesn't get empty even after casting such a massive spell.

"By the way, how did you make that 'weak' spell into so strong… Is your mana control that high?" (Shin)

"Hmm, well, something like that… it's just I have practiced that spell a lot these few days so it became stronger over time…"

Jareth wasn't lying at all! He has been practicing this spell since he received the fire magic knowledge from the memories of the original Jareth.

The reason why he was practicing this one particular spell was because this one was the easiest to learn among the other grade-5 spells.

But Shin totally misunderstood Jareth's words

'He is saying that he has practiced this spell a lot… does that mean he has been working on it for quite a few years!? Such dedication!'

Shin thought that Jareth had been working hard to enhance this one spell for years, otherwise, how come it became so profound and strong?

As the old saying goes: Fear not the man who has learned thousands of techniques, but fear the man who has learned the same technique thousands of times.

Thinking this far, Shin suddenly said in a solemn voice.

"Sigh~ I acknowledge it, Jareth Blaze… You are indeed a man…"

Hearing Shin's words, a strange look appeared on Jareth's face as he said:

"You figured that out just now? Did you not used to think of me as a man before?"

"Ahem! Cough! Cough! I-I didn't mean it like that! I was saying that you are a real man! I mean you have the courage of a real man! Cough! I-"

"Tch! Just stay silent, you are causing me headaches, I don't want to hear your annoying voice anymore!"

Jareth simply got up and left the area, leaving the troubled Shin behind directly.

A complicated look appeared over Shin's face as he saw Jareth's fading back.

"ugh! So embarrassing! I totally ruined my image…"

...

A far away mountaintop.

Two people stood wearing strange black gas masks at the top of the mountain.

One of them glanced at his hand and noticed that the grey-colored crystal in his hand had shattered.

"The Cyclops got killed…"

Hearing the man's words, the other person said in a surprised tone.

"Didn't you say it had hyperregeneration? How did it get killed so fast?"

"I don't know… but the crystal broke apart in one go… it must have been an instantaneous attack…"

*ROOOOAARRR*

Just when the two of them were confused, a massive fire dragon head made of condensed purple flames appeared in the distant sky; its roar was so strong that it even reached their ears from so far away.

"Those purple flames…"

"I see, it must be the work of that guy again, tch!"

"What do we do now… that plan has failed…"

"Should we go and confront them ourselves?"

A strange look appeared on the other person's face under the mask after hearing that question.

"You want to confront a guy who killed those Cyclops in one attack? Are you out of your mind?"

The other person also hesitated at this moment.

"Let's retreat for now and ask Boss for further instructions…"

"Y-yeah…"

The two of them glanced at the fading fire dragon for a few seconds and finally retreated.
