Chapter 25: The Battle for Dawn! Part-3.
Pulling off so many insanely strong spells right after buffing all the students with high-grade magical barriers proved that Shin is indeed an exceptional magician.
His being a genuine grade 2 mage is not a joke he is indeed talented, after all, he reached this realm so much faster than others.
Most of his peers are still in grade 3 or 4.
Smiles returned to the faces of all of the students who had gathered on the upper floor's edge to watch Shin's fight.
Their eyes shined in excitement as they got to see a proper 'demo' of a fight between colossal powerhouses.
Each of them learned something new from watching a real Grade 2 sorcerer's battle.
Moreover, Shin is quite popular among children because of his kind personality, due to which all students wanted to congratulate him now that he had won that desperate battle.
The barrier that Shin had cast on the lower floor earlier slowly started to disappear as Shin's mana ran out and he was no longer able to maintain the massive mana cost of such a huge scale barrier.
Mark also arrived at the place after sensing the anomalies in the mana of the dungeon.
Although he wasn't really a big fan of Shin, even he was impressed by the scale of Shin's magic. (Well, Shin is a genuine grade-2, unlike a certain someone…)
'I think it will take me at least two or three years to reach that level…'
Unlike other students, Mark's thoughts were totally different.
Others were thinking how great and amazing Shin was, but Mark was already thinking much further ahead, he knew that he could reach Shin's level given a few years of time.
Just when Allen was about to congratulate Shin, he noticed that Shin's facial expressions suddenly changed.
*Crack*
A loud cracking sound rang out throughout the area, the sound was so eerie that all the students that were cheering and laughing in excitement just a few seconds ago, went quiet instantly.
Mark's eyes narrowed and a solemn look appeared on his face.
"This!?"
Even Mark was shocked by what he was seeing.
"Not good!"
*boom!*
The ice burst apart and the broken ice shards flew in various directions randomly. The speed of those flying ice shards was enough to kill any of the students present here instantly.
But before the shards could even touch any of the students, Shin placed all his remaining mana into the disappearing barrier and immediately tried to protect the students from harm.
His desperate trick worked, all of his mana disappeared and the barrier also broke apart but it protected the students somehow.
All the students that were saved from a hair's breadth, slumped down on the ground as their knees gave away due to fear of death.
Mark stared at the disappearing barrier and felt his hand tremble a bit. One of the few shards nearly blew off his head just now.
Even he was not able to react to such an insane speed.
Although his expressions remained calm on the surface his mind was already a mess.
'I certainly felt it just now… the feeling of 'Death'…'
For the first time in his life, Mark felt just how powerless he was in front of colossal powerhouses like the Cyclops and Shin.
He nearly ended up dying from a stray ice shard that wasn't even aimed at him.
*Rahahahahaha! You thought I would be defeated just like that!?*
The figure of the Cyclops appeared in front of everyone.
The huge hole in his chest was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. His regeneration speed was so fast that it was comparable to the healing capabilities of a grade 3 magician.
*I have a blessed physique! I won't die from being frozen like that! If you had shattered the ice on time, then I might have had a little difficulty!! Bahahahah*
Black lines appeared all over Shin's face and his expression turned sour in an instant.
Hearing the uncontrollable laughter of that Cyclops even after so much hard work, made Shin feel extremely frustrated and annoyed.
The situation returned to the point from where it had started, the Cyclops stood there unharmed and unconcerned.
But now Shin was out of mana and he will not be able to block the next attack at all.
Knowing the sinister nature of the Cyclops race, Shin also knew that the Cyclops would likely not let go of any of the children present in this area.
The barrier that Shin cast on them earlier will only prevent them once and will teleport them right outside the dungeon.
But with the abilities of this Cyclops, he can definitely track down every student before they can escape back to the city.
This means all of these talented children might die today.
Everyone present at the place knew just how grim the situation was; they could feel from Shin's expression that even he was helpless now and there was no more hope.
Some students trembled in fear and some simply collapsed down, waiting for their eventual demise.
Just when Mark was thinking of making a swift escape, a familiar voice entered his ears.
"Hmmm, it seems I was a bit late to the party… but well, it seems there is still a large bug hanging around here…"
Although Jareth didn't say that in a loud voice, his voice was easily heard by all of the students due to the fact that it was very quiet in this underground area, and you could even hear the voice of your own breathing here.
Thus his voice definitely stood out a lot.
In the surprised eyes of Mark, Jareth jumped down.
[Basic Magic: Float]
He cast a basic magic to cushion his fall and landed right beside Shin.
His expression remained cold as usual.
"Specifics?" (Jareth)
"Intelligent, Grade-3 regeneration, acid blood… Need a massive explosion." (Shin)
"Blessed type?" (Jareth)
"Physique." (Shin)
The talk between Shin and Jareth ended in just two seconds, in those two seconds they both exchanged an immense amount of information.
Both of them are professionals, after all, they have graduated from the same academy and their combat tactics are certainly not that different.
Shin immediately put his personal conflict with Jareth aside as he knew what Jareth was going to do when he jumped beside him.
(This is how professionals talk in this world it seems, fewer words and more information, extremely efficient…)
"A regenerative type huh… then I will just blast him to ashes in one go…"
*BAHAHAHA! You certainly have a loud mouth for someone who isn't even half as powerful as that white pest!*
(The Cyclops was also able to see that Jareth's body didn't seem to have as much mana as a genuine grade-2, Shin also knew this fact, but he also knew that Jareth was able to kill a wyvern so he didn't doubt his capabilities…)
"You are yapping a lot… in the first place.. Who asked?"
[Do you want to use 'Attack enhancement Card (Advanced)']
[Yes or No]
'Yes'
[Ding! You used 'Attack Enhancement Cared (Advanced); the next attack will be enhanced by 500 times!]
[Activated the 'Magic Amplification' skill of 'Grimoire of the Night witch'!]
[Next attack will be enhanced by 80%!]
A grimoire appeared beside Jareth and floated in the air without any support.
Jareth raised his palm towards the Cyclops and a gigantic magic circle appeared in front of him.
It didn't stop there, two small magic circles formed right behind the larger circle and enhanced the bigger circle even further.
The mana in that massive spell alone made everyone feel a chill run down their spine.
Jareth's face remained cold as usual as he smirked.
"Farewell, overgrown pest…"
[Grade-5 Fire Magic: Roar of the Flame Dragon!]
