Chapter 12: Sway the Principal...
Jareth's Dorm Room, Bedroom.
1200 mana may seem too high, but it's not that big a deal, Even grade 4 mages have more mana than that.
The reason Jareth was so surprised is because of the insane increase in mana capacity.
His mana capacity directly jumped from 50 to 1200, it happened just after he learned the 'External Mana circuit' skill.
It was a huge increase that surprised him.
…
(General mana capacity of a mage)
Grade 7 Mage: 1-10
Grade 6 Mage: 10-500
Grade 5 Mage: 500-1500
Grade 4 Mage: 1500-4000
Grade 3 Mage: 4000-8000
Grade 2 Mage: 8000-12000
(No proper data was recorded for grade 1)
…
The Mages are generally divided into grades by their maximum mana capacity. And their mana capacity depends on their innate mana circuit.
If someone's mana circuit is too small and weak, obviously their mana capacity will be extremely low too. (This was the case with the original Jareth; his max mana capacity was too low due to his mana circuit being small and weak.)
You can grow your mana circuit and make it stronger with higher mana control and mana affinity, but unfortunately for the original Jareth, even his mana affinity was too low.
This is the reason for his despair; he was helpless against his inability to grow further than a mere student's level.
'Mana affinity and mana purity are the two things that I can't improve right now… they are going to give me quite a bit of trouble…"
'Instead, I need to focus on mana control first, if I have better mana control, I can still manually increase the other two given enough time…'
From the game, Jareth knew many ways to increase his abilities, but right now, he is short on time.
All the other things will take a long time to work, and he doesn't have time right now.
'I need to earn more CP; perhaps I will be able to get stronger with just these CP…'
Just as Jareth was contemplating in his mind, his smartphone suddenly received a notification.
Jareth unlocked his phone and clicked on the notification to see what it was.
[From The Principal]
[Description: All teachers are ordered to report to the principal's office, immediately.]
Looking at that formal notification, Jareth felt a headache coming his way. His face twisted in arrogance.
'Are they arranging a meeting to discuss about what happened yesterday with that wyvern… tch! what a waste of my precious time, such audacity!'
'Moreover, the principal is being so arrogant, summoning me on such short notice!'
Jareth's eyes widened in shock.
'What is happening… when did I start thinking so arrogantly about myself… strange..'
Jareth shook his head and stopped thinking about it.
He slowly walked out of his dorm room and headed towards the principal's office with the usual cold look on his face.
…
Principal's office.
Jareth opened the doors and walked in with no hesitation.
A roundtable came into his sight.
'I arrived too early...'
All thirteen seats reserved for the teachers were empty, only the principal was sitting on his chair.
Jareth walked in without hesitation and directly sat on the seat with the number '13' written on it. There are currently 13 full-time professors in the academy; the rest are just staff members whose work is to do maintenance and other things.
Jareth is the newest among the 13 professors, he joined only 3 years ago. The rest of them joined before him.
These 1-13 numbers are assigned according to the time of joining the academy.
Jareth didn't care about these numbers either.
Your number doesn't represent that you are weaker than others; it's assigned just for better efficiency.
When Jareth sat down, he glanced at the principal, who was staring at him with a content look on his face.
The principal has Golden Hair and golden eyes similar to Mark; he may look old but he is an extremely strong individual. His wrinkled face had a gentle smile on it.
If he concealed his identity, people might mistake him for a gentle old man with a good personality.
But those who knew him would not be swayed by his gentle smile. He is a world-famous grade-1 mage and an old monster who has lived more than three hundred years.
Jareth nodded his head towards the principal as a simple greeting.
The principal gave a gentle smile at Jareth's nod and laughed a bit.
"Haha, I didn't expect you to hide such strength… I didn't even detect your strength until now… it seems I am getting old sigh~" (Nathan Estrella)
Jareth shook his head and replied in his usual cold tone.
"It's not that the principal is old, it's just that I have an artifact that hides my aura, and I don't like showing off too much..."
Jareth already knew that the principal would doubt him and would ask about how he became so strong all of a sudden. Thus, he had already prepared an excuse before he came here.
"Ah, so that's how it is! It seems I was just thinking too much…"
Jareth nodded his head and explained further:
"I have been using this artifact since I was young, it helps in hiding the user's aura, and it has saved my life many times…"
Jareth lied with a straight face and didn't even bat an eye, his acting skills were so high that even the principal was swayed away by him.
"Is that so…"
Nathan nodded his head again and again at Jareth's explanation.
As a grade-1 mage, Nathan was able to see the general aura and mana capacity of an individual in just one glance.
Originally, Nathan thought that Jareth was a talentless guy with barely any mana in him, but with his feat of defeating a wyvern and now this explanation, it seems more likely that Jareth was hiding his strength from a young age.
'It seems he made those rumors on purpose to survive in his childhood… hehe that's quite a clever move…'
Jareth's plan turned out to be a proper success; even though Nathan was a Grade 1 mage with immense knowledge, he couldn't read people's minds after all.
Moreover, Jareth's expression was always cold and arrogant, so it was even more difficult to tell if he was lying. Thus, Nathan ended up believing Jareth's made-up story without any thought.
Only a few people know about Jareth's past, as the Blaze family has completely banned his childhood stories from leaking; nowadays, they don't even acknowledge him as their child.
Nathan originally accepted Jareth into the academy because of the theory he donated, and he was planning on suspending him at the very first opportunity that appeared.
But now that Jareth has proved that he is worthy of his position, Nathan does not need to replace him anymore.
'Perhaps I should raise his salary for protecting the children in my absence…'
While Nathan was busy thinking about how to reward Jareth for his good deeds, Jareth was heaving a sigh of relief in his head.
'Sigh~ that was much easier than I expected…'
Jareth had already planned out everything beforehand about what he needed to say and do in case the principal questioned him all of a sudden.
(Don't forget he has the talent 'Sharp Mind' and the previous Jareth's knowledge too… He planned everything out in the time he walked from his dorm room to the principal's office…)
The thinking capabilities of Jareth are no joke, he swayed the principal in his favor with just a few words and stabilized his position in Nathan's eyes easily. This was already a great feat.
After a while, other teachers also started to arrive one by one and sit in their respective seats.
Each of them stared at Jareth for a while before nodding their head and sitting on their seats.
The atmosphere became a bit awkward when all of the professors were unconsciously maintaining distance from him.
Only one of the professor was staring at him with narrowed eyes, the rest were minding their own business.

1. Yes (He is too strong and doesn't bother himself with worldly things…)
