Chapter 74: Chapter 58: The Demon of Desire, Asmodeus!!
Rhodes looked at the familiar face before him.
It was almost an exact match—90% identical—to the statue of Yulia. But this woman had an even more vivid, enchanting allure.
Yulia's mouth was slightly open in shock.
"Don't mistake me for that fool," the original witch's smile faded as she spoke.
This was the original witch—an ancient being who mastered the art of manipulating souls and human nature. The "Mother of Evil" was nothing more than a wild beast, a mindless creature driven only by destruction and hunger.
If there was anything she loathed, it was being mistaken for someone else.
"To me, it doesn't matter," Rhodes shrugged. The original witch and the Mother of Evil, after all, were two souls fused into one. They had different minds, contrasting personalities. One inherited the divinity of a god; the other, the madness of an evil god. If their bodies and souls hadn't been bound so completely, they would've been at each other's throats by now, each trying to devour the other and become the sole ruler.
"Frankly, I don't care why you're here, but you can leave now," Rhodes said, his gaze indifferent.
Anyone who thought her beauty meant she was harmless was in for a nasty surprise. Her personality was darker, far more twisted than the Mother of Evil's. She lured others in under the guise of fulfilling their wishes, only to amplify their desires a thousandfold, twisting and distorting them until they became monstrous slaves to their own desires. Anyone who got close to her ended up a soulless puppet, consumed by madness.
"Human, do you understand what you're saying? Are you seriously trying to command a god?" The original witch's face turned dangerous, her eyes gleaming.
She was a true god. Even sealed, her divine authority remained unchallenged. And here was a mere demigod, using such a dismissive tone, as if he had any right to sway her will.
"A god?" Rhodes sneered, hefting his axe. "In your current state, would you still call yourself a god?"
There was contempt in his smile, an arrogance that bordered on madness. He was unfazed, even when facing a divine incarnation. This was a man who would look a god in the eyes and tell it to step aside.
This was not the celestial realm but the material plane. Divine power was restricted here by the world's barriers, the crystalline wall of reality. Gods could not fully descend without a tremendous price, while Rhodes could briefly unleash power comparable to a god's. To him, anything less than a god was mere trash.
"Leave," he commanded. "Now."
His gaze sharpened, and his tone was calm, but there was an unmissable edge. "I'm giving you three seconds. Get out or die."
The original witch looked at him with a strange expression, almost intrigued by his audacity. This human was entirely unafraid, staring down a god as if she were beneath him. Who was he to stand so arrogantly before a deity?
"Human demigod," she murmured, "I'll admit your strength is...impressive." She then gently lifted Cinderella's chin with a finger, smirking. "But I'm not here for you. She is the one who called to me."
"You see," she continued with mock gentleness, "a benevolent god like myself can hardly bear to see my followers and heirs suffer." She gestured to Cinderella. "This child wishes to rise among the nobility, and I can grant that wish...by letting her physical form expand without limit, controlling the entire kingdom as her puppet."
"And all I ask in return is a modest fee," she smiled.
The phrase "limitless expansion" jolted Cinderella, filling her with unease. She tried to struggle but found she was paralyzed, entirely at the mercy of the witch.
"You foolish girl," the witch said, tapping Cinderella's forehead. "You're my heir. Everything you are, I own. Did you really think you could break free?"
With that touch, Cinderella's consciousness slipped away. A crimson mist seeped into her body, and Rhodes instantly felt his own desires stir wildly, clouding his mind with chaotic thoughts.
From the witch's body emerged twisted, fleshy tentacles that reached out, wrapping themselves around Cinderella.
"I've seen many who sought death, but a god courting death is a first for me." Rhodes watched as the witch toyed with him, entirely unconcerned by his earlier warning. Did she truly believe he wouldn't strike?
"Killing gods is hardly new to me," he whispered.
In his experience, futile resistance only added another mark to his god-slaying record.
A guttural roar echoed through the room as the witch transformed Cinderella. She became a towering abomination with six limbs, her upper body covered in bloated flesh and innumerable eyes, pulsating and twisting, tentacles of flesh writhing with frenzied energy. The witch's form was fused into this monster, her naked upper body partially embedded within its grotesque mass.
The monstrosity stood several meters tall, its bloody gaze fixed on Rhodes.
"Astonishing!" The original witch's voice dripped with awe. This creature, a product of Cinderella's suppressed desires and ambitions, had become a demon beyond anything she could have anticipated. Even after eons as a god, she had rarely encountered evil this potent.
"Desire is a poison more potent than faith," she murmured, stroking the beast's head with satisfaction. "Now, show me what you can do, my beautiful child!"
The demon's flesh-tentacles lunged at Rhodes, terrifying in their power.
But Rhodes raised his hand, and with a casual wave, scorching flames devoured the tentacles. He observed the demon, who radiated the aura of a demi-god yet fought at best with the power of a holy warrior.
"Is that it?" he mused, unimpressed. "Then I'll end your incarnation right here."
The original witch's eyes widened in genuine shock as Rhodes channeled a rule, something only gods could wield. The aura around him radiated authority far surpassing her own.
"You—possess a divine rule?" she gasped.
Rhodes lifted a hand. Behind him, two massive hands formed from sand and ore, rising like mountains. They clapped together with crushing force, creating a shockwave that tore through the forest.
"What's happening?" Prince Kurt, who hadn't yet left the forest, stared at the devastation in horror. He'd seen powerful knights in battle before, but nothing like this—a clash that shook the heavens and earth.
"This... this is a battle between legends!" The prince's guards quickly hauled him away, panic in their eyes. They knew the aftershocks alone could end them.
But Kurt couldn't tear his eyes from the scene, mesmerized. Power... This was true strength, the kind he'd never known. The thought of pursuing women felt laughable now.
"Your Highness?" a guard called out, concerned.
"Cancel all my engagements," he said, voice hardening. "Tell my father I'm going to study in the Imperial Capital."
The prince's eyes burned with newfound resolve. If he couldn't become a legend, he would never return. And so began the transformation of a once-aimless prince into a driven warrior.
Back in the dust-filled battlefield, Rhodes watched as the monstrous demon lumbered forward, its blood-soaked form even more terrifying. A crimson haze spread from her body, infecting the forest around her. Animals nearby fell under its influence, their eyes turning blood-red, driven into a frenzy.
As they multiplied and perished, their life force flowed into the demon, compressing and distorting her form. Eventually, she shrank down, transforming into a three-meter-tall woman dressed in a revealing, V-shaped leather bodysuit, her skin marked with bloody patterns, her scarlet eyes ablaze with hunger.
Crimson hair spilled down her back, and black wings unfurled behind her, casting a shadow over everything.
The original witch's gaze sparkled with wild excitement.
"Cinderella?" She chuckled. "No... You are Asmodeus, the Demon King of Desire!"
