Fairy Tale: With Sin Of Pride

Chapter 113: Chapter 97: Orc City! Holy Shadow Dragon Fang Flash!!

Rhodes stood tall, a faint smirk on his lips as he muttered the incantation to his ever-reliable system.

"Dungeon World."

Ding! Sign-in successful!

Reward obtained: Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic (First Generation)

Another surge of power flowed through him, familiar yet distinct. He raised an eyebrow, muttering to himself, "Another dragon-slaying magic. Not much variety at this check-in point."

The Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic wasn't entirely different from the White Dragon Slayer Magic he had acquired before. One wielded the brilliance of light, the other the enigmatic force of darkness. Despite their opposition, Rhodes knew their true potential lay in their fusion. Light and dark, when intertwined, could unleash devastating power.

But for now, the real value lay in his growth. Every time he mastered another dragon-slaying magic, his physical body and magical reservoir evolved. The power of dragons—the very essence of these abilities—coursed through him.

With the combined strength of the White and Shadow Dragons, Rhodes now possessed the magic and vitality of two elemental dragons. Both species, in their maturity, were entities of the Holy Rank. Though the first-generation magic lacked the explosive might of its successors, it served as a robust foundation.

Even now, with his power elevated to the Sanctuary realm, he remained aware of his limits. In this era of gods, the Sanctuary level was barely a footnote—a mere stepping stone in a world ruled by the divine.

"It'd be nice to stumble across a few magic crystals," Rhodes mused, his tone laced with casual dissatisfaction.

---

Far ahead, the outline of a settlement came into view. It was rough, unpolished, but decent by the standards of this chaotic era. Human towns were a rarity, a testament to survival rather than civilization. Without powerful guardians, the mere idea of a human city was laughable.

Rhodes entered without much trouble; the guards, both human and lax in their duties, simply let him pass. The streets were unkempt, coated in mud, and the faces of the passersby reflected the burden of their lives. Among them walked half-humans—orcish figures with horns, scales, or fur—dressed in finery and exuding arrogance. Ordinary humans shrank back at their approach, clearing a path instinctively.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out.

"You worthless mongrel! How dare you stain my clothes!"

An enraged half-orc with bear-like features and rippling muscles roared, shoving a trembling human man to his knees. The man, clad in rags and burdened with goods, knelt immediately, his face pale with fear.

The bear-orc snarled at the muddy smear on his garments. "For this insult, I'll eat you alive. And your family too!" His eyes gleamed wickedly as he turned his gaze to a woman and her young daughter huddled nearby.

"You look decent," he growled, licking his lips. "Come with me and serve as my slaves. I'll enjoy breaking you."

Rhodes watched the scene unfold with growing disdain. The orc opened his maw wide, prepared to devour the hapless man.

Boom!

A pale light slashed through the air, and in the next instant, the orc's torso was gone, his legs collapsing onto the ground like discarded logs.

"Unlucky start to my visit," Rhodes muttered, his hands tucked casually into his pockets.

---

The crowd froze in horror. Whispers rose among them.

"Did he just kill a half-orc?"

"This will bring disaster to us all!"

Rhodes turned his cold gaze toward the murmuring humans. "Half-orcs? You cower before them and dare to judge me?"

The pale light in his eyes flared as he lifted a hand. Boom! A massive dragon claw of energy descended, flattening a row of houses.

The onlookers fell silent, terror etched on their faces.

"I killed him. Anyone else have a problem?" Rhodes asked, his voice calm but chilling.

A man, the one nearly devoured moments ago, stepped forward hesitantly. "Sir, you should leave. The orcs won't let this go. They'll hunt you down!"

"Let them try," Rhodes replied, his tone devoid of concern.

He walked off toward a nearby tavern, ignoring the flurry of retreating footsteps behind him.

---

Inside the tavern, the atmosphere was tense. Orcs of various shapes and sizes crowded the room, their laughter booming. At the bar, a wolf-eared orc scowled at Rhodes.

"No humans allowed here! Get out!"

Rhodes ignored him, seating himself at the counter. "A drink. Your best."

The wolf-orc sneered, his yellowed fangs glinting. "You? Afford good wine? If you can't pay, don't blame me when I feast on your limbs!"

A snake-like half-orc with scales slithered over, grinning slyly. "Come now, don't scare him. A brave little human like this deserves a drink on me. What's your name, human? Care to visit my place later?"

Rhodes' expression turned icy. "I'll give you three seconds to leave."

The snake-orc's smile faltered, replaced by fury. "You dare—"

Boom!

Before he could finish, a jet-black beam erupted from Rhodes' hand, obliterating half the tavern and reducing the snake-orc to ash.

The remaining orcs froze, their bravado replaced with dread.

"Your wine is mediocre," Rhodes said, setting down his glass. Without hesitation, he vaporized the wolf-orc behind the counter.

---

Moments later, the ground trembled. A squad of orcs, led by a golden-maned lion-man, marched toward the ruined tavern.

"Human," the lion-orc growled, his amber eyes blazing. "You've caused enough trouble. Time to die!"

Rhodes rose from his seat, his movements slow and deliberate. "You're late. I've been waiting."

Golden fur bristled as the lion-orc prepared to pounce. But before he could move, Rhodes unleashed his power. White and black energies swirled around him, coalescing into a radiant dragon of light and shadow.

Holy Shadow Dragon Fang Flash!

The world erupted in blinding light and crushing darkness. The city shook, and the golden lion's roar was drowned out by the cataclysmic force.

When the dust settled, Rhodes stood alone amidst the rubble, the remnants of Orc City reduced to silence.

"Pathetic," he muttered, walking away, his power undiminished and his resolve unshaken.
