Chapter 190: The Grand Magic Games (1)

~Third POV~

Later into the night, the members of Fairy Tail Team A stood waiting as everyone discussed their day Silva explained, "Went to have some lunch on my own you guys?"

Gray nodded sharing the same thing as Silva did, and Lucy with Natsu and Happy till both yelled out loud, "Graaaah! Those guys said things that cannot be forgiven!!!!"

Silva raised an eyebrow as he shrugged gesturing towards the clock till it finally reached the hour of midnight.

After that they all waited till it was 12:00 AM then they saw a pumpkin mascot Mato hologram on the air then it said, "To all guilds who have gathered for our Grand Magic Games, good morning! We will now decrease the number of teams to eight, and to do that will immediately start the preliminary competition!"

Then the mascot Mato with his head of a pumpkin along with clown-like clothing begins a little dance as he says proudly, "For this year Grand Magic Games will only have eight teams the same as last year! Now the rules are simple for this contest!!!"

Then suddenly the building they were in grew higher.

*Rummmbll*

Upon doing so the building began to shake causing the group to be surprised by the sudden movement of the inn as other members exclaimed in shock at the scene.

"Our inn is changing shape?!"

"WHOAAA!"

"Look! The other inns are doing the same!"

"Transforming is a man's dream!"

"Oh shut it, Elfman!"

"So the inn is the starting point for the prelim?!"

*Rummmbll*

Soon enough a bridge began to form alerting everyone as Gray shouted out loud, "They're making a path!!"

Erza commented equally confused yet agreed with Gray's assertion, "So this is the way we go?"

When the building was done getting high enough the group saw that a path suddenly appeared leading towards a magical sphere that changed all around and looked like a maze. Moto continues to explain to the following guilds to listen, "The first eight to arrive at the stadium of Domus Frau will be able to participate in the tournament!"

Then Silva reaches down to get his book of Rongo Rongo to see where the stadium is located so that they can get their first before Sabertooth could alert everyone, "Already on it! Will be in first place before those pussycats of Sabertooth can do anything about it!"

They all nodded expressing their confidence in Silva's book as the hologram of Moto continued his speech, "You may use whatever magic you wish. There are no limits. The first eight teams to make it to the goal pass the preliminary contest! But if all five members are not present, you will be eliminated!"

The five team members look at the Rongo Rongo to see the directions and structure of the maze they all smile now knowing where to go now as Natsu grins eagerly, "Oh yeah! We got this in the bag now!"

Silva agreed as he summoned up carriages getting the group's attention flashing black sunglasses in a confident tone, "Definitely! But why not show off a bit? Got to reach first place in style…!"

Gray shook his head helplessly as he took one of the black sunglasses already agreeing, "Sigh… you just want to troll the whole competition man. Got one in my size?"

Silva grinned as Natsu hopped on with Lucy muttering in disbelief but took one regardless for a free ride, "Seriouly can't go one day without causing trouble can't you Silva? Got one in style perhaps?"

Lisanna and Elfman merely laughed at the group's interactions already riding their choice of vehicle a futuristic magic flying car as Erza hopped in style already proclaiming, "I won't deny a free ride. But at the very least presentation is important after all."

Then the hologram of Moto continues to explain finally reaching the end and announcing for everyone to begin, "One more thing… If any of you should lose your lives in the maze, the organizers bear no responsibility! Let the preliminary contest go to the Grand Magic Games, the Sky Maze… BEGIN!!!"

*VOOOOM*

Once announcing the beginning of the preliminary rounds Silva's group skyrocketed away leaving all in their dust as he innocently waved at the contestants with a smug grin, "Sorry folks but first place is all ours. Do try next year everyone hopefully, you'll improve not sucking this badly this year. Ba bye now baby."

Angering the contestants with his taunts Fairy Tail A Team was the first to enter the Sky Maze as Silva opened Rongo Rongo as the Sky Maze began shifting around changing directions, "Alright we go through here, turn left, right, up, down, backwards, up, right, left, up again, down, straight, down, up, right, left…"

Muttering his words following the correct course of actions made Gray hold on tightly to the car handles arguing with Silva's rash driving, "Whoa! Hey man watch where you are driving!! Do you even have a license for this?"

*Bam*

Ignoring him and purposely doing a barrel wheel caused Gray to hit his head on the car accusing Silva with a small glare his way, "Ow…. You did that on purpose didn't you?"

Silva merely retorted with a not-so-innocent expression, "I have no idea what you mean?"

Gray eyes glared at his friend as Lucy talked to the two to calm down, "Hey both of you calm down or I'll tell Erza!"

That made the two freeze up stopping as Erza menacingly replied taking away Silva's riding privileges, "Children behave. If not, Silva I'll take control riding the car from here taking away your riding privileges."

The two stopped as Silva pouted with Natsu witnessing this thinking to himself in a surprisingly calm tone, 'Huh… so this is what it looks like from the other side huh? So weird....?'

It only took them about five minutes or less to get into the Colosseum Domus Frau when they saw the mascot Mato looked surprised that the guild Fairy Tail Team A came in first then the Sabertooth guild who were the top guild at the moment.

Then Mato got out of his stupor then said in an excited tone with a small dance, "Wow, I didn't expect you guys from Fairy Tail to take first place also well done. Fairy Tail Team A for being first place."

That caused the group to pause except for Silva going forward to mutter in confusion, "Team A?"

Silva moves forward to Mato shaking his hand and thanking him for his time in a respectful tone hinting at his Majesty, "Thank you very much Majesty- Ahem! I mean Mato I hope this tournament won't be boring I hope this will be fun."

Mato could only nod in agreement with beads of sweat dripping from his face noticing his slip up as Silva replied to his group in a happy tone getting their attention, "Well then, it's about time we hit the hay after all it's only the morning. Oh, yeah hey Mato what time would be ready for the grand opening?"

Then Mato blinks a bit before shaking his head as he replies with a smile returning to his mascot personality, "Ah yes be sure to arrive at 7:00 AM but the tournament begins at 8:30 AM since you guys need your rest after all just make sure to be ready at the appointed time."

Then Mato snaps his fingers then he brings out a magic circle as he says confidently, "This should lead you back to your building as well as your access back here again I hope you be ready alright members of Fairy Tail."

With that everyone nodded then stepped on in then they were suddenly gone leaving behind a surprised Mato who in reality was revealed as King Toma E. Fiore in disguise.

~Toma E. POV~

While I was alone, I said to myself in a surprised tone that our strongest force noticed me in my disguise shaking my head, "Oh wow, I thought for sure that Sabertooth would be first to come but I guess this generation is just full of surprises. Especially with how our strongest force managed to notice me."

But then again receiving news that one of our demons locked in prison died because Mard Geer the former demon of Tartrous died. The Magic Council did their research leaving them to the scene where the guild where the final Dark Guild causing problems was vaporized.

Certainly Silva's MO. And the traces left behind were none other by our strongest Mage in Fiore. That means most mages in Dark Guilds will tread carefully from now on.

Sigh…

I swear that boy changed a lot. But in a good way just wish he didn't leave it up to us for the clean-up crew. Ah, who am I kidding after reading the reports that the longest Dragon Extermination Quest was completed by him?

At the very least he isn't our enemy. That's the last thing I want our Kingdom to face fortunately though he's a nice lad and I'm a good judge of character.

I mean he wouldn't have waited if he had since he never participated in the games. But only did so when his friends returned so I can say for sure he's a nice lad with questionable judgment but if it benefits my people in the end, I won't have any say on the matter.

Plus his having a good relationship status with my daughter has been good. Friends even despite how my little girl calls him a brute pulling pranks on her whenever I ask a request to train our army.

Since then thanks to an alchemist that he brought with him Athena we managed to reinforce our top members in our army with Dragon Armor and Weapons.

Even going as far as a plan in motion gathering the assistance of brilliant minds from all over to forge 54 legendary weapons stashed named Teigu's for the Fiore Kingdom. But it's a very long process to create according to Athena so long as we gather the materials.

But I'm merely dribbling on at this point. The next people should be coming soon.

Then I saw the next group coming the one leading the group was the previous member who participated in the previous Grand Magic Games.

Sting is a slim, yet muscular, toned young man of average height with spiky blond hair, which is kept in strands jutting outwards in every direction, and a smaller, frontal cowlick of hair partially hanging over his forehead, I see he has slanted, slit pupils, dark blue eyes; above the right one is a thin, diagonal scar I see his left ear is adorned with an earring which, in itself, is attached to by a prominent metal pendant that is crystalline in shape. His white Sabertooth mark is located on his left shoulder.

Rogue is a slim young man of average height with rather messy black hair, which almost reaches down to his shoulders, along with some strands pointing upwards on top of his head and a prominent tuft obscuring most of his forehead, and his hair is later brushed to the right side of his face covering up his right eye. He has red eyes with slit pupils similar to that of a snake's eyes.

Rufus is a slim young man of average height with very long, straight blond hair, reaching down below his back, which is gathered near the end and tied in a small ponytail by a large, dark band. Framing his face are two bangs, which reach down to his shoulders and then flow backward with the rest of his hair, and most of his upper face, aside from his eyes and forehead, is hidden by a crimson mask with golden edges.

Then I see a newcomer who is a slender, well-endowed young woman with short, light blue hair and fringes framing her face. She wears a black rose ornament on the left side of her head. She dons a cloak clasped together by a star-shaped clip, with feathery protrusions that cover her chest, shoulders, and mid-back, over her blouse and shorts. The cloak flared at her feet, where it was divided into flowing sections secured by ribbons. She wears a black pair of socks that stop at her mid-thighs. Her Sabertooth mark is located on the left side of her stomach.

I see another newcomer as well a pale-skinned, very massive, and heavily muscular man, possessing an extremely well-built torso, and matching arms. His legs, however, are normal in size, and, therefore look quite minuscule when compared to his massive body. He has long, spiky, shoulder-length light green hair.

I see the whole group radiate an aura of arrogance. I see Sting come near me and then say, "Hey there Mato so are we the first ones to come here right."

I just reply while smiling correcting the younger generation of the news and shocking them in the process, "Actually you members of Sabertooth came in second place the first place of the preliminary is Fairy Tail Team A so far they got here in about five minutes or less."

I see the shocked faces of everyone present that they came second place, but they just get out of their stupor and then get angry about being in second place when they should be first place.

Then I see Rufus say to their group nod in surprisingly enough understanding asking me if the strongest mage was on that team, "Now, now. This is only the preliminary round will be the ones to take first place once the tournament begins after all we are the strongest guild in Fiore, and besides… is this Silva Knights participating?"

I nodded giving them their answer as a challenging expression was shown on their faces. Guess they recovered quickly thinking they could win against that monster in human form.

I pity them. I just don't have the heart to tell them to give up their dreams of winning.

Then everyone in their group nodded their heads agreeing with that they left through the portal while I thought to myself excited, 'Well this Grand Magic Games would certainly be entertaining this year I hope… especially with Fairy Tail's Trickster this will be the most surprising yet!! I can't wait!!!'
