Fairy Tail: Evolution Start From The Black Dragon

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: I Don't Want to Work Hard Anymore

The group, riding horses and carriages, set off for Magnolia.

Although Aegon lived in the Eastern Forest near Magnolia, he seldom visited the town. He only went occasionally, usually when he wanted to order custom clothes for Selene, Irene, and the others.

But today, Jenny, Kiria, and the others forcefully dragged Aegon along, insisting on a shopping trip together. He couldn't refuse their enthusiasm. As for celebrating the New Year, Aegon wasn't really concerned about it.

Selene and Irene chose to ride in the carriage, while Katherine, who had dragon scales on her face, decided to stay behind at the estate. This left Mira sitting in front of Aegon...

Mira's cheeks flushed: "Could you... not move your hands around so much?"

"This is just a necessary action when riding a horse."

Erza, riding beside them, shot Aegon a disdainful glance. "How do you manage to lie so effortlessly, without even blushing?"

"By listening, observing, and practicing a lot."

Seeing Aegon answer so earnestly, Erza blinked a few times, then waved her fist at the air in frustration.

"Darn it... I should've brought my notebook!"

Last time, she took on a request to help in a play, but when she got on stage, she couldn't speak her lines properly, leaving the actor she was performing with dumbfounded. The result? Both of them just kept stuttering "uh, uh, uh" on stage...

"You need notes for such simple lines? You might as well not take them at all."

Erza felt like she'd been shot straight through the heart again...

If looks could kill, Aegon would have been murdered countless times by the residents of Magnolia, all giving him death glares...

Selene, with her neatly trimmed golden hair, perfectly matched her makeup and jewelry. From head to toe, she had meticulously dressed herself, giving off a noble and elegant aura. Meanwhile, Jenny, with the same hair color but styled in youthful waves, wasn't as polished but radiated boundless energy and charm.

Irene, with her crimson hair divided into four braids around her ears, wore a faint smile on her lips tinted with light pink gloss, resembling a brilliant red rose. By her side stood Erza, a familiar figure to the residents of Magnolia.

Mira, wearing a coat and smiling with narrowed eyes, held hands with her younger sister, Lisanna, who sported short silver hair. Lisanna wore a princess tiara and copied Irene's hairstyle, playing with her braids while shopping. Beside them was Kiria, her golden bangs partially covering her left eye.

And then there was Kagura, who had taken Selene's advice and styled her purple hair into a hime cut, with a white headband. The tall and imposing Aegon drew stares from all around.

"How do you usually go shopping?" Aegon asked, noticing the increasing number of eyes on him from the townspeople.

"Just ignore them."

"Huh? You mean people have been watching me all this time?"

...

"Use magic to conceal yourself." — by Irene.

"Buy out the entire street." — by Selene.

Various answers floated in, but when Selene spoke, all eyes turned to her.

"Buy out the street???"

Selene frowned. "What's wrong? Is that difficult to do?"

"Excuse us."

Erza and Misaki responded in unison.

"I don't want to work hard anymore!"

...

This outing was supposed to be a chance for Erza and the others to buy New Year's gifts.

Aegon held up a necklace in front of Irene, comparing it to her.

Irene shook her head. "I don't need it. I don't usually like wearing things like this."

Aegon leaned down slightly and whispered in her ear, "You don't have to wear it during the day, but you can wear it at night."

With Aegon's firm gaze upon her, Irene sighed in resignation. She let him thread the necklace through her hair and clasp it around her neck.

The intricately carved necklace nestled into the deep chasm between her breasts.

Aegon stepped back and nodded slightly. "Hmm... looks good, even though I can't see it..."

Irene didn't know what to say to him. Her words ended up as a helpless sigh, while her chest heaved, nearly making Aegon lose himself again.

"I want one too! Please, Lord Aegon, put it on me as well!"

Jenny handed him a necklace she had carefully chosen after much deliberation.

Aegon took the necklace, and Jenny beamed with excitement but forgot to turn around. Aegon's large hand gently pressed down on her head.

"Turn around."

Jenny blushed, realizing her oversight, and turned, sticking out her tongue playfully.

It seemed like they had planned it out, as each one handed their necklace to Aegon, waiting for him to help put it on. Afterward, they smiled brightly, cheerfully debating whose necklace looked the best.

"You're holding a bracelet, and you want me to help you put it on?"

Kiria replied confidently, "It's harder to put on a bracelet! Necklaces are easier!"

The bracelet Gilia chose was one that looped around her middle finger and formed a "人" shape on the back of her hand.

After putting it on, she waved her slender hand in front of Aegon. "Does it look good?"

"It does look good, but are you sure it won't interfere with your magic?"

Kiria muttered softly, "I don't wear it when I go out... I wear it for you to see..."

Meanwhile, Kagura stood to the side, looking out of place, watching Mira and Erza chatting and laughing.

Selene noticed this and approached her. From Selene's perspective, Kagura was too absorbed in the world of swords.

This wasn't good because, after all, she was still human. That's why Selene had previously gone through the trouble of convincing Kagura to come out and get her hair styled like a princess.

Standing next to Kagura, Selene smiled at her. "Why don't you pick one out? I can help you put it on."

Kagura hesitated but then shook her head. "No, I just don't see the point."

Selene blinked in surprise. "Don't you think that makes life boring? You can't just train all the time and lose interest in everything else."

"..." Kagura blushed deeply at Selene's words.

After all, she wasn't entirely clueless. They often talked about typical girly things, though Kagura was usually dragged along unwillingly.

While Selene and Kagura were talking, Aegon approached them, his right hand hidden behind his back. When he was within arm's reach of Kagura, he lifted his right hand, revealing a necklace hanging from his middle finger, swinging in front of her.

"It's for you."

Kagura focused on the necklace. It was a rose-gold plum blossom design with a hollow center, styled like a ring.

She looked up and met Aegon's gaze.

Aegon didn't ask Kagura to turn around. Instead, facing her directly, he gently reached around her neck and fastened the necklace.

He made no unnecessary moves, only briefly touching her hair in the process.

Still, Aegon's focused gaze and proximity made Kagura feel a bit... unsettled.
