The next day Eros' team arrived at the palace gates in full force. The guards recognised them at once and let them through, but with an escort that led them to the entrance of the palace, and there they were met by a butler.

The butler led all four of them to the banquet hall, where there was a large number of people, by their clothes and conversation, as well as by the luxurious furnishings, Eros immediately realised that these were not ordinary people, but nobles.

As soon as the three arrived in the hall, no one paid any attention to them, and those who did glance in their direction felt nothing but contempt when they saw their appearance. The clothes they wore were hardly luxurious, but they were not cheap, after all, they were going to the king. Eros couldn't expect them to be invited to the banquet, he thought they would just come, the king would thank them, give them a "valuable prize", sing to them how good they were and how much the king needed them.

"Why were we even invited here in the first place, to laugh?"- Lily's nervous voice echoed through the heads of all three of them.

"If anyone tries to mock us, I will personally beat the crap out of them!"- came Rick's firm voice.

"Then I'll join you."- added with a hint of amusement in Rani's voice.

Eros decided to remain silent and take a closer look around the room, just at that moment the very man who had invited them to this place approached them.

- Mr Darton, why were we called here?

- I can't know, it was the king's order," he said, and Eros could even hear a note of regret in his voice. Darton didn't seem to understand why they had been summoned.

- I see," Eros said with a heavy sigh.

"Eros, should we leave?"- Rick asked.

"We can't do that."

"Why not?"

"If we leave so soon, it would only show disrespect on our part to the king who invited us personally, albeit through an intermediary."

"I see..."- Rick replied with annoyance.

- "Well, as it happens, we're going to have some fun, since it's so much fun.

- Yeah, sure, have a good night.

Leaving Danton's company, they sat down at one of the far tables. where they chatted and sampled the food that was on the table. Eros on the other hand was looking around the room for clues, something about it all made him wary. Like he was missing something, but what?

For a moment, the titan froze in surprise. He saw two men at the other end of the hall, they were among the mages who had been encouraged by the queen's speech and had participated in the battle of the palace. The Titan continued to look around the hall and with each passing second his mood grew darker and darker.

Eros found ten mages in the hall of which he had seen seven during the battle, as well as nine men dressed in simple clothes, but in very good physical shape. And this gave him not very good thoughts....

"Eros, what's wrong?"- Rani's serious voice sounded in the titan's head.

"We got into some shit again!"- in an overly calm voice, said the titan, "I feel like round two of last night's fight is about to start."

"What makes you think that?"

"Look in the corners of the hall, do you recognise anyone?"

The three obeyed Eros and started to look into people's faces, but after a minute both guys exhaled and shook their heads, but here was Lily looking in one of the corners in surprise.

"I remember him, he was the one who shouted the loudest then and was the first to rush towards the palace!"- she pointed to a smarmy guy in his twenties, Lily continued to look round the room and pointed to three others.

"If they did, what makes you think they're going to try to kill the king tonight, maybe they were invited just like us? "

"A gut feeling."- Eros replied succinctly.

For the rest of the evening, one word nada happened. Eros was even beginning to think that he was just too tired and over-imagined. During this time, many of the mages and knights that had arrived gathered in small groups and chatted about something. The nobles didn't react in any way, as if they weren't even there. Everything was calm and quiet.....

- His Royal Highness Tom E. Fiore, has arrived! - the butler announced, two servants opened the doors at the same time and a small old man with white hair and a small moustache entered the hall. On either side of the king stood two knights.

"Indeed, all little old men are very powerful!"- Rick said thoughtfully.

"What makes you think so?"

"Think of Makarov, Yajima, Danton, and now the king himself--"

"There is some truth in what you say."

The king walked calmly to the largest table and stood on a chair and raised his glass.

- Thank you all for coming to this banquet. I have organised it to celebrate the Victory, and also to thank those who have been of great help in this incident, - some nobles immediately stretched, others straightened their backs, - I would like to thank the mages who responded and lent a helping hand in a difficult moment, as well as the knights who spared no effort to fight the enemy, many of them left their lives on the battlefield, but let everyone know that their heroism will never be forgotten!

Everyone in the hall began to applaud especially the mages and knights invited by the king, but the nobles behaved sluggishly and looked at the king with very dissatisfied faces. After all, how could he thank the ordinary commoners, and not even mention them, because they "fought like lions"!

- Therefore, let's raise our glasses to "Victory"! - everyone in the hall raised their glasses at the same time.

- FOR VICTORY! - everyone exclaimed and drained them.

At that moment, while everyone was relaxed, a shriek sounded and one of the knights to the right of the king fell to the ground, his body twitched in spasms for a couple of seconds and froze.

- KILLER! HERE IS A KILLER! DEFEND THE KING! - The second knight drew his sword and stood in front of the king, looking round.

A stone wall grew in front of the doors to the hall.

- That was too easy," came the snide voice of one of the men among the nobles, he was skinny, with shoulder-length grey hair and an unpleasant face with a long nose and small moustache.

- Explain yourself, Marquis Viz! - came the firm voice of Tom E. Fiore, and there was not an ounce of fear on his face.

- What is there to explain to you my king?

- Why you betrayed me, I have never been prejudiced against you and....

- Oh, don't talk rubbish and stop stalling," Vis smirked, "Your guards won't know about this soon enough, or do you think I'm working alone? - Almost half of the nobles sided with him, -You see, I'm not the only one against you.

- What do you want?!

- Oh, not much at all," His smile grew even wider, "The throne!

- Even if I die here, there's still my wife, as well as many confidants, there's no way you can usurp the throne!

- That's true, but I'll make things much easier, I'll take the Queen as my wife, see how many people support me in that," Wiz laughed, pointing at his entourage, "Oh... - SHUT UP YOU BASTARD! - The king roared, throwing his empty glass at Wiz, "I swear you will not die an easy death! YOU WILL NEVER GET OUT OF THE PALACE OF THE ABYSS!

- Oh, I'm afraid, I'm afraid, and how are you going to defeat me when all the mages here are on my side? - he paid no attention to the furious king, for to him the king was like a "dog without teeth" who could only bark.

- Fucking paedophile, - sounded a calm voice, it was not loud, but everyone could hear everything clearly.

- Who said that?! SHOW UP!

- Me, - everyone looked in the direction the voice came from and saw only three children and one grown man, - And what are you going to do?

- KILL HIM IMMEDIATELY! - roared the nobleman and looking at the girl, for a moment froze, - Leave the girl, tonight I will take care of her re-education in my game... - but before he could finish, his body was covered with bright scarlet flames, - AAA! SAVE! - Many people rushed to extinguish Wiz, but they couldn't do anything, they just burst into flames at the same moment. But the most surprising thing was that the flames did not burn him at once, but slowly consumed his body. The screams of agony lasted for more than two minutes, until he became hoarse, or maybe his vocal cords burned, but he continued to shake with the remains of his limbs....

All those who were watching were shaking with horror as they watched their comrade-in-arms die, but they were not eager to help him anymore, for they did not want to be instantly reduced to ashes like the three who had tried to help Wiz.

- You shouldn't have said that..." Eros' voice was calm, "Lily, you should calm the boy down, he is fighting for your innocence.

The girl flared up sharply and looked at Eros angrily, but she tried to calm the infuriated boy down. But still, at that moment, Lily was happy to see the boy's reaction, and the fact that not far away a man was burning, she didn't give a damn.

- So, listen to me, - the titan clapped his hands and drew attention to himself, - Unless you want to experience the same heavenly pleasure as Wiz, I recommend you to lie down, put your face on the floor and put your hands behind your back.

- What the hell do you think you're doing? - The voice of one of the nobles sounded furious, "Kill them at once!

Seven mages ran at Eros at the same time. When he saw this, a wide grin appeared on his face, and before they reached ten metres they were covered by flames and turned into ashes in a second. The others, who were about to rush after them, froze abruptly, not daring to take a step. Eros, on the other hand, noticed the movement of one of the nobles and pointed his finger in his direction. There was a shriek and the sound of something made of steel falling to the ground. The object was a simple looking dagger with no designs or jewels.

- I told you not to move," the titan said with a sly smile, "That was just a warning, the next move and you will die," he pointed his hand at the door, created a white ball the size of a ping-pong ball in his hand and threw it at the wall that the stone mage had created.

The wall and the door behind it were destroyed and several dozen knights piled into the hall, immediately surrounding the king.

- Arrest all of these men," Tom E. Fiore pointed at the nobles who were lying down, as well as at the mages who were on Wiz's side.

- I told you," Eros said in a bored tone, "Something bad is going to happen.

- Gentlemen," the king walked up to them surrounded by guards, "I would like to thank you for saving my life.

- You had everything under control," he said with a slight smile, pointing his finger at the roof.

The king looked at Eros in surprise.

- How?

- Teach your guards to restrain murderous intent, because when it came to the princess, from the ceiling I felt a few, directed at the Marquis of Wiz, and before that I did not notice them.

- Thank you for telling me about it," the old man nodded with a good-natured smile, "Since today was so spoilt, I want to invite you back another day to reward you.

- It is the duty of every citizen of the Kingdom of Fior to protect the king.

- I insist," the king was flattered by this and his mood improved, "When I've sorted everything out, I'll send for you.

- Thank you, Your Majesty! - all four bowed to Tom E. Fiore.

- Now, I'll take my leave, I have to finish all my business.

Eros and his friends also did not linger in the castle and left.
