Chapter 32 - Spirit Source Feedback, Breakthrough to Bone Forging

Chapter 32: Spirit Source Feedback, Breakthrough to Bone Forging

The upgrade was complete.

Without hesitation, Wu Yuan willed all remaining resources in the courtyard to be stored in the resource warehouse—a new ability granted by the post’s upgrade.

Within the post’s boundaries, he could now freely access items from any storage—private, public, or resource—at any time.

Additionally, his “Master’s Vision” had expanded. He could now inspect any subordinate structure of the post through the interface without physically visiting them.

In short, managing the post had become far more convenient.

This upgrade had brought numerous changes, many of which Wu Yuan needed time to fully comprehend.

For instance, most of the building upgrades were expected, with data shifts aligning with his predictions. However, the transformation of the spirit fields was a pleasant surprise.

The two acres of Level 1 spirit fields had directly expanded into four acres of Level 2 fields. While the maturation period appeared longer, this only applied to Level 2 spirit plants. If he planted Level 1 crops, their growth would be significantly faster than before.

Even more astonishing, the buildable structures list now included an additional ten acres of Level 1 spirit fields—a windfall beyond his expectations.

The moment he thought of the spirit fields, the interface displayed a crystal-clear image of them.

The previously planted Mountain Celery Roots, Qi-Circulating Fruits, and Jade Tiger Ginseng had not only sprouted but, thanks to the post’s upgrade, had skipped their initial growth stages entirely. They had now matured into Level 2 spirit herbs, nearly reaching mid-grade quality.

Though this aligned with his simulated plans, witnessing it firsthand still thrilled him.

After all, the value of Level 2 spirit herbs far surpassed their Level 1 counterparts.

If he could eventually cultivate Level 3, Level 4, or even higher-grade herbs, the wealth generated would be staggering.

Eager to capitalize on this momentum, Wu Yuan considered constructing several urgently needed buildings from the available options. Since Level 1 resources were just sitting idle in storage, there was no reason to delay.

But just as he prepared to act, another interface panel abruptly materialized before him, displaying a message:

[Post upgrade complete. Initiating Spirit Source Feedback. Prepare to receive, Master.].

Wu Yuan was stunned. What the hell is “Spirit Source Feedback”?

His dream memories contained no mention of such a thing. Was this unique to Spirit Source Posts?

Before he could ponder further, an immense surge of energy—akin to spiritual energy yet far more refined, almost primordial—descended from above and enveloped him completely.

This energy brimmed with vitality, instantly stimulating the circulation of his body-forging blood qi.

Wu Yuan immediately assumed the Python-Dragon Stance, activating the Python-Dragon Body Movement Technique. His cultivation began soaring rapidly.

Starting from the high stage of Skin Refining…

Peak Skin Refining! His skin began to peel, crack, and shed, revealing fresh, jade-hued flesh beneath.

Breakthrough!

Initial Bone Forging! His bones itched unbearably, as if swarmed by countless ants.

Another breakthrough!

Mid Bone Forging! His bones grew denser, as if infused with molten lead and mercury.

Third breakthrough!

High Bone Forging! A faint golden sheen emerged on his bones, resembling gilded indestructibility.

Only then did the torrential energy gradually dissipate, leaving Wu Yuan’s cultivation firmly anchored at the high stage of Bone Forging.

Advancing an entire major realm in under two hours—without any apparent instability in his foundation—was nothing short of miraculous. Aside from minor difficulties controlling his newfound strength, there seemed to be no hidden repercussions.

He was baffled. What kind of absurd benefit is this?

He had assumed it would take at least a month of ample resource supplementation to safely break through to Bone Forging. Yet, in mere moments, the post’s “Spirit Source Feedback” had propelled him to the high stage.

Under normal circumstances, even with unlimited resources, reaching this level would require at least a year of cultivation.

The sheer time saved sent waves of exhilaration through him.

Who would ever complain about their cultivation soaring too high?

If pills could guarantee flawless breakthroughs, he’d have been swallowing Triple Blood Pills daily.

Unfortunately, pills weren’t omnipotent. Overuse led to impurity accumulation, making subsequent breakthroughs exponentially harder—if not outright impossible.

[Li Xinyuan] Level: 15
Status: Wasteland Immigrant, Upper-Class Drifter, Commercial Post Soldier
Cultivation: High Bone Forging
Blood Essence: 4,355
Lifespan: 26 / 120

The updated stats on his identity token—especially his extended lifespan—broadened Wu Yuan’s grin. Who wouldn’t want to live longer?

As for his automatic promotion to “Upper-Class Drifter,” it meant little. Without noble status, he remained a commoner in the eyes of true aristocracy.

After a moment of narcissistically admiring his now-taller, more refined physique (hidden beneath the Soul-Mimic Mask but subtly more handsome with jade-like skin), he refocused.

There was still much to do—no time for self-indulgence.

Consulting the post’s layout, he began planning the placement of constructable buildings.

Reviewing the requirements:

Small Post Road and Level 1 Blacksmith couldn’t be built yet due to missing materials (Stone Thread Spirit, Diamond Liquid for the former; Iron Essence Ore, Smoke Copper Ore for the latter).

The rest were feasible:

Level 1 Side Rooms (2): 80 Hardgold Wood, 20 Blue Steel Stone, 5 Black Jade Soil, 1 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Level 1 Kitchen (2): 50 Hardgold Wood, 30 Blue Steel Stone, 10 Black Jade Soil, 1 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Level 1 Storage Shed (2): 30 Hardgold Wood, 30 Blue Steel Stone, 5 Black Jade Soil, 1 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Level 1 Beast Stable (1): 200 Hardgold Wood, 50 Blue Steel Stone, 50 Black Jade Soil, 5 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Level 1 Spirit Well (2): 15 Hardgold Wood, 20 Blue Steel Stone, 5 Black Jade Soil, 1 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Level 1 Spirit Field (10): 15 Hardgold Wood, 5 Blue Steel Stone, 15 Black Jade Soil, 1 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Total Required (Before Spatial Reinforcement):
700 Hardgold Wood, 300 Blue Steel Stone, 250 Black Jade Soil, 10 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

After Reinforcement (Doubled):
1,400 Hardgold Wood, 600 Blue Steel Stone, 500 Black Jade Soil, 20 Spirit-Tracing Liquid

Wu Yuan sighed at the unexpected inclusion of Spirit-Tracing Liquid for the wells and fields. Did the post’s core get greedy after seeing leftovers from the upgrade?

Alternatively, perhaps post-upgrade constructions required more intricate array connections, necessitating the liquid.

Regardless, he willed the resources to be drawn from the warehouse.

Runes flared.

Within moments, over a dozen structures materialized across the post’s grounds.

Kitchens, storage sheds, and side rooms were placed in both the front and rear courtyards.

The sole beast stable and one Spirit Well were positioned near the inn at the front.

The second well was installed in the front courtyard (the rear already had a Level 2 well).

All ten acres of Level 1 spirit fields were arranged behind the post, alongside the four acres of Level 2 fields—leaving only a five-meter-wide path to the Dreamfire Cave.

Remaining Resources:

Hardgold Wood: 2,630

Blue Steel Stone: 2,900

Black Jade Soil: 400

Spirit-Tracing Liquid: 25

Though some reserves were dwindling, Wu Yuan knew substantial stockpiles of Hardgold Wood and Blue Steel Stone remained outside the post—previously stored there due to space constraints.

After allocating some to Chuan Yu Tower’s construction and accounting for ongoing slave-gathered resources, external stockpiles were still plentiful.
