Chapter 57: The Entity has ascended
Of course, Ibaan did not want this petal to enter. He only wanted the same thing to happen as it did when he first came into the realm of the Dead Eye of the Fallens. Back then it wasn't on purpose. He had been scared out of his mind and had accidentally let the Morrveil Bloodroot awaken.
But this time it was on purpose. He kept teasing the petal, making it chase him again and again, never letting it enter.
However, the moment it stopped being useful to Ibaan, it floated in the air right at the line between the world inside the tower and the world outside the tower.
The petal trembled and gave off a faint glow. And suddenly, the other reddish plants around the area started stretching toward it — crawling and merging.
They slid into the glowing petal like blood being pulled into a wound.
And then — everything turned crimson.
Pure, heavy crimson.
Shrieking, unbearable voices stabbed into his head. He couldn't move, but his hands moved on their own, his nails digging into his palms.
His body trembled. His bones twisted as if they were being torn apart.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The cracking sound could be heard from a distance.
The pain was unbearable, his throat tearing open in a silent scream before it healed again.
His stomach and mouth suddenly bulged outward as if pulled by some invisible force. His ears throbbed in pure agony as they twisted and stirred.
An unbearable shriek tore through his whole body as the newly formed structure created by the petals slid toward him like a centipede and forced its way into his ears, crawling inside with sharp twitches that scraped at his nerves.
When the centipede-like thing finally entered his body completely, his mouth and stomach slowly returned to their normal shape. The pain didn't last as long as it did the last time, but it was far harsher—though it was finally beginning to fade.
As he came back to his senses, his vision was completely blurred. The pain was still there, the itching was still there, and Ibaan was still there.
However, as his vision cleared, a blue construct had already formed in front of him. Its countless strings glowed softly as he focused on them — the Chikara running through the threads that wove the relic crafted by the Shon Eriil.
The construct read:
[The Entity: Morrveil Bloodroot has ascended to its Eclipsed Form]
[Warning] You can now summon the Morrveil Bloodroot, however it follows the fate woven by the Dead Eye of the Fallens. You will have no control over it if it is not fated.
His eyes widened, and even with the pain still pulsing through his body, a wave of excitement rushed through his heart.
It was exactly what he had hoped for. He had wanted the ability to use the entities living inside him like parasites — beings he still didn't fully understand, beings he didn't know what they might do in the future.
He looked down at the final panel that appeared:
[Usage]
Place your hand on the ground and recite the summoning line: "I summon the blood of hunger, the Morrveil Bloodroot."
As he read the construct, he dismissed the notification, remembering that another entity lived inside his body—one that had entered right after the Morrveil Bloodroot.
It was Crepy Orrock.
The very being who had cut his spine.
That was right.
His greed rose even more as he slowly turned his head back.
The structure of the tower was different from the first one. There were direct stairs leading up to somewhere—maybe the second floor of the tower, or maybe the last—he didn't know.
But there were two doors leading to two opposite chambers, and a straight passageway where thick darkness ruled completely.
Ibaan felt a strange déjà vu in that moment. His eyes focused, seeing through the heavy darkness toward whatever lay beyond it.
A creepy smile spread across his face as he heard the crawling, clawing sound echoing through the passageway, growing closer and closer, clearer and clearer.
He stood up at once, his gaze still fixed on the darkness.
First step.
Second step.
Third step.
Fourth step.
…
Just as he stepped for the seventh time he came to a halt as something finally showed itself
A red glowing structure inside a mass of meat like thing, it was none other than the core of the Crepy Orrock creatures however it has plenty of the arms and tentacles had emerged out of it.
Ibaan suddenly felt his body being controlled and automatically his body trembled, full body all the parts and his spine cracked and one of the most horrible pain shot through his back.
"Aaaghhh!" He let out a scream that was almost unbearable.
And not only that his mouth and stomach bulged out too, and the rib in his chest experienced the pain too.
And just then the tentacles and a single tail stirred and in seconds it teared through his spine which added more horrible pain to his body.
Honestly speaking, he couldn't bear that pain he just couldn't hear a silent scream tear through his throat, however why would one mourn over this? It was the choice he made and he has to face its consequences.
That's right.
The core and the meat-like thing guarding it moved closer, pulled in by the tails and tentacles that had slipped into the deepest part of him — a place even he never knew existed.
In the next moment, it merged with him and sank straight into his body without even a warning.
Right after that, his broken ribs and spine snapped back into place, healing.
However his body felt a bit heavy now, he couldn't guess it was because of the feelings or the entity.
The pain faded down slowly bit by bit, and the panel showed up in front of him, just like he expected.
For a second, it really looked like he was some chosen one. Was he? What do you think?
Maybe.
No he was not.
Or so he thought.
